I have 50 years of woodworking experience, house building, furniture & cabinet making. This is a very simple way for anyone to build a garage cabinet. Excellent Work!!!!!!!!
Thank you, Los Tex!
Is there a way to obtain a materials list and cut dimensions?
Best video format ever!!!! Leave all the talking to the end... We all just want to see how to build the thing. Thank you. I think I'm ready to build :-)
I'm not even done watching the video, but I just had to pause to say thank you! This is exactly what I needed for my garage.
Thank you for your comment and for stopping by. I appreciate it.
I love the attention to detail on the little things. Great build. Subscribed!
Thank You for your comment and for subscribing! I appreciate it.
I built 16X3X8 feet shelf following the video. thanks a lot
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback. I'm glad the video was helpful.
I was looking for a way to reorganize my garage, but it's hard to decide what to do until CZcams pushes this video. It has a straightforward design and is easy to build. Nice work.
I'm thrilled the video was helpful for you! Organizing a garage can be daunting, and I'm glad you found the design straightforward to build. Thank you, and Happy organizing!
I love the demonstration. Though I have never done this, I feel I can make it happen. Thanks for the incredible video.
Painted sectional door tracks? That's a very patient man!
Thank you sir! I was going to build solid wall cabinets but each piece of 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood is now $80 and I needed 3 for each cabinet. Using your method I can just use the Birch for the doors, the bottom, top, and 2 very side ends. Probably saving 2 sheets for every 3 cabinets. Plus it's faster to build and looks stronger.
You're welcome! At first, I intended to build solid wall cabinets, but the cost of 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood proved quite high. That's why I opted for this method instead.
Dude! After watching your video, I got inspired and followed your example to build similar 7' and 8' tall cabinets along my 3 garage walls - about 22 linear feet. They look great, and provide enough space for all of my wife & daughters art/crafting supplies, my tools/equipment, our pantry overflow and more - all super organized and behind doors. No more clutter! Yay!. The cabinets plus a new coat of epoxy on the floor means that I really enjoy hanging out / working in my garage. And I get quite a few compliments from my neighbors :)
Great video. Thanks again!
Wow, that's fantastic to hear! I'm glad the video inspired you, and you took action to build yours. It sounds like you've not only created an organized and clutter-free space but also enhanced the functionality and aesthetics of your garage. Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it. If you don't mind, I would love to see it.

This is exactly what I am looking for.I had cabinets priced for my garage {build, paint, install] 3- 40 inch wide, 60 inch high 20 inch deep $2650. I know prices are high now a days but yikes.I will order these plans and get it done. Thanks for making it look soo easy.
I'm glad to hear that this fits your needs! Yes, pre-made cabinets are expensive, and opting for a DIY option is a great way to save.
simple yet better looking than open shelving. I may do it this way now.
This is exactly the video I've been searching for almost 2 years. Definitely gave me the confidence to start this project soon. Looking forward to (hopefully) when you share the cut list! Thank you so much!
Thank you Joana!
Wow! These are the nicest garage shelves/cabinet I have ever seen! Really good idea adding the shelf pin holes! Very beautiful build!

Thx for uploading this video. Great tutorial, especially the part where you use nails to hold the rails. Well done
Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it. I'm glad you found the video helpful.
amazing work. very educational. shown in simple steps. thank you.
Thank you, Arda Odabasio, for your comment. I appreciate it.
Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for. WELL. DONE. Great video. You make it look easy.
Thank you for stopping by. I am glad you found what you were looking for. I do appreciate it.
Well done. Used your concept to fit my space. Worked great! Thank you.
You're welcome! Thank you, too, for sharing. I'm thrilled the concept worked well for you and that you successfully fit it into your space.
Fantastic video. Thank you! You say the plans are found in the video channel, but I can't seem to find that.😀
Thank you for pointing that out! You can now find the plan in the video description.
This video is clutch! Just what I need for my garage. I liked and subscribed. Thank you!
Thank you, Robert, for stopping by and for subscribing. I do appreciate it!
I keep seeing those huge elaborate wooden structures, with many doors and struts and all that... What I am missing is a box system where the whole shelving is unnecessary. The military has metal boxes which are stackable with a side opening, so every box becomes it´s own mobile shelving unit which can be rearranged at any time. I would love a concept like that maybe out of wood for cheaper, because those Zarges boxes are expensive.
Very impressive….I liked how you demonstrated how to build your cabinets by yourself. At first I was going to construct the cabinets on the ground and then attach them to two by fours on the wall. I may adopt your method instead or do both for various areas in my garage. keep up the good work! Thanks
Thank you, Kim, for your comment and for stopping by. I do appreciate it.
My husband and I have watched at least 30 videos on CZcams and yours is far far better or I should say the best we’ve seen excellent work
Thank you, Gloria! I appreciate it.
Love this project I'm going to duplicate this if you don't mind I appreciate 🙏 your simplicity and strength of these fine cabinets
Thank you Allan for your comment, I do appreciate it. please feel free to duplicate the cabinet.
Well done sir, and better yet, relatively simple and doable by many. Those cabinets will provide years of service at a reasonable cost. Your shelf pin approach on the 2x4s was especially clever. Some might have sloped garage floors and might find starting from the bottom up the better approach.
Thank you for your comment, Ron Jones! I do appreciate it.
You good sir are a badass. Nice work. I'm jumping over to your Vuleco side and purchasing these blue prints. Thank you. So happy I ran into this channel.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for supporting my work! I truly appreciate it
Ya did a really good job👍! I could tell right away you know well what your doing, and careful to even put the little strips in front to complete the shelf surface🙂...very good!
Thank you for your comments! I appreciate it!
Great job!!!
I liked your garage cabinets. Nice job
Thank you Wesley! I appreciate it.
Great job, and a perfect cabinet. Well done
Thank you D3P for your comment, I really appreciate it.
Great vid, I built same shelving unit a few years ago. Want to add some doors to it & your vid gave some insight on how to do that! Thanks
You're welcome! I'm glad you find the video helpful.
Very nice job!!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the build.
Thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to me.
this saves so much money on plywood-- for a garage which is just junk storage..
Yours is my favorite vid on making garage shelves, thanks.
Thank you, Rainman270, for stopping by. I'm glad you liked it.
I’m finally putting on the doors using full overlay Blum hinges, faceless. How did you calculate the dimensions for the doors ? I’ll be veneering the edges but I don’t think they’ll add much to the dimensions. Thanks in advance !
This video made me subscribe and save it. I've been wanting to put cabinets in my garage for sometime
Thank you, Andrew Albright, for subscribing. I appreciate it! I wish you the best in your build.
Best DIY shelves video, by far, I've watched several..! Downloaded your plan bud.. Gonna try making these. Let's see if I can replicate your work..!
Thank you! I appreciate it. You can do it! Good luck.

Great Job! Nice Concept 👍👍
Thank you sir Josiah!
Bravissimo bel lavoro complimenti.

This is an incredible build!! I was going to build my shelves the same way. After watching you enclose as cabinets I am inspired to do the same. I liked and subscribed. Great video and build. Keep sharing the progress of your garage.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I truly appreciate your likes and subscription it means a lot to me.
Nice job young man.

Thank you so much for subscribing! I appreciate it
Nice work!!

AWESOMEEEEEE!!
Thank you!!
Very nice
Thank you!
Nice video and great cabinets. I was going to build similar cabinets for my garage but a local by store had a Black Friday sale a couple years ago that failed and they sold the left overs for way cheaper than I could build them. I however like your cabinets way better.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It sounds like you got a great deal on your garage cabinets during that Black Friday sale. While finding a good bargain is always nice, I appreciate your compliment on my cabinets.
Thank you for sharing! Just as others mentioned, this is an example that I was hoping I could find for my garage project! I’m curious - have you ever thought about adding locks for doors (ie maybe doors at the same level since they share a common space)? If you had a specific lock(s) that would work, would you share a link? I have a few power tools which I’d like to secure
You're very welcome! I'm glad to hear that the project resonated with what you envision for your garage project. However, I have not personally utilized locks on my power tools, so I can't provide a specific recommendation.
Thanks for the great walkthrough. It was perfect without any unwanted monologues. One question though, are the shelf pins enough to carry the weight of the garage stuff ? Are they holding up well over time ?
Thank you for your comment and for stopping by. I appreciate it. As for the shelf pins, they are holding up well. Some of the shelves carry over 45 pounds load.
Thank you for creating this video! Could you please post the dimensions you used for door size’s?
Thanks again!
Thank you, Ram Annam, for stopping by! I am working on the plan; I will drop the downloadable link here when I finish sometime this week.
How did you paint your garage door tracks red? With all the lithium grease and everything I’m having a hard time figuring that out? Powder coating?
Do you have a material list. As far as wood goes. This the best looking and easiest full wall cabinets I have seen. I want to do this soon. Thank you for the video.
You're very welcome! Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you found the video helpful and inspiring for your project. You can find the materials I used for this project in the video description.
Very nice build and just what I needed to see to build garage storage for my garage. Since you covered up all the exposed plywood with pine strips could you do that on the tall plywood side panels too? I’m think the vertical studs could be wider lumber and ripped to a width of a 2x4 plus the width of 3/4 plywood and overhang by that much so no plywood edge shows on the sides? Or what would be a better way?
Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you found the build helpful for your garage storage project! Adding pine strips to the tall plywood side panels is a great idea. However, I will suggest you use Birch Plywood Veneer Edge Banding instead. It will offer a more polished look and enhance plywood protection. Best of luck with your garage storage project, and I hope it turns out exactly as you envision!
Looks amazing! Where did you find all that straight wood? My Home Depot only sells curved studs
Thank you! I appreciate it. I also purchased mine from Home Depot. Typically, I navigate through the stud to locate the straight one, even if it means visiting another store.
Is there anyway you could give the spacing dimensions of the front leg supports. The distance between them - Many thanks !
You can find the build plan in the video description.
Nice job!
Thank you!
@@VULECODIY come do my garage shelves next! 😉
@@cherbee2460 Lol.... I will think about it.
Your video is excellent and thank you for sharing. For your support, I clicked on every link you provided. Would you share the dimensions of the cabinet you built?
Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it. I apologize for the delay in providing the plan for this build. The plan should be ready by next weekend.
New subscriber here! Just what I'm looking for. If you don't mind sharing the build blueprint, that would be much appreciated. Thanks for this!
Hi, Roberto. Thank you for your comment and for subscribing to my channel. I appreciate it. The build plan is now available. The downloadable link is under the video description. Thank you for supporting me.
Awesome video! How do you account for floor pitch? Or is your garage floor flat? Thanks!
Thank you for your comment! My garage floor is far from flat. I account for floor pitch by starting the build on the wall, as shown in the video timeline 1:13. This gives me more control.
What did you spend on lumber and hardware for this project? Thanks. Looks good and I have been needing to do the exact same thing
Thank you for your comment and for stopping by. I spend approximately $1800 on everything at the time of this build.
Unless i missed it i didnt see you drill any pilot holes. The screws you used are self drilling? I got some "self drilling screws from home depot but they still split the wood
I did not drill pilot holes. I use self-drilling screws. You can deep the screw head in paste wax if the wood splits. That will reduce the split.
Great video! I’m doing this, you should post or sell dimensions, measurements, and steps brotha
Thank you, Joshua, for your comment. I'm currently working on the plan.
@@VULECODIY Yea, I would like the dimensions of this cabinet so I can build it myself. Please at least tell us the dimensions of the small and large cabinet doors while you are still working on the plans.
great vid !! what do yo think your material costs were total.... great watch btw!!! merry xmas
Thank you, and Merry Christmas! At the time of this build, it was approximately $800.
Loved the video! Thank you! What 2x4 did you use ? These look very clean and straight. Its a struggle finding such ones at home depot
Thank you for stopping by. I do appreciate it. I use the 2 in. x 4 in. x 8 ft. Prime Whitewood stud. The code # is 4005014730277; you can type the number on The Home Depot app to get the same one I used. As for finding a clean and straight stud, I always go through each stud and pick out the one that suits my need, even if I have to go to another Home Depot to get it.
Excellent! Thank you!!
@@abeiphones You're welcome!
This was a great video. However, I can't seem to find the plans as mentioned in earlier comments. Can you help me out?
Thank you for your kind words about the video! I appreciate it. I apologize for any confusion regarding the plans. You can find the plan on my website, Vulecodiy.com, or use this link: vulecodiy.com/build-plans/. Thanks again for your interest!
Hello! Great video….. what type of wood did you use for the cabinet doors? Where can I purchase it?
Thank you! I'm glad that you liked it. I used Baltic Birch Plywood for the doors, and you can buy it from Clark's Hardwood Lumber or any hardwood store in your area.
Amazing...mate...this is exactly I need for my garage too but not sure where u located
Thank you for your comment Gaurav. I am currently in the US.
Well… if you’re anywhere near Westchester NY… I have a job for you 😉
good work, howeevr, there is lot of wood wasted.
Nice build. But I think this will make fixing your garage door very difficult when you have a problem.
Thank you for checking out the build! I appreciate your observation and concern. You're right; repairing or modifying the garage door will be challenging, but it is doable.
Great video! I’m definitely going to make some cabinets in my garage based on your design. Do you have the dimensions of your cabinets or a cut list of the material you used?
Thanks!
Thank you, Geoff, for your comment and for stopping by. Unfortunately, there is no cut list of the materials; however, if you send me the measurement of your garage wall where you intend to build the cabinet, I could make a similar designed for you.
@@VULECODIY hello! can I give you the dimensions of my garage where I intend to build similar cabinets? was also wondering, what type of table clamp with drill guide did you use to drop those holes at a angle?
Quick question , if you just flipped the front frame around so cross 2x4 was on the outside , wouldn’t it save a step of not having to put frame pieces on ?
That's a great observation! Flipping the front frame so that the cross 2x4 is on the outside could indeed eliminate the need for adding frame pieces. However, I choose the current configuration to enhance the platform's overall strength.
Hello everyone! Thank you for your comments and for watching and subscribing to this channel. I greatly appreciate all the support. The build plan is now available. The downloadable link is under the video description. I would love to hear your thoughts on the plan and suggestions for improvement.
Thank you for this video. This is just what I have been looking for. Great video and gives me the confidence to tackle this project. I see where you mentioned a downloadable link for the build plan...but I can't seem to locate it. Can you please help me find the link? Thank you!
I see it now. Thanks!
I purchased a home and want to build the exact way that you did but I have a "U - Shape" design in where the 2 side walls are connected to the back wall shelving so it would be 1 long wall like yours plus 1 smaller wall on each side.
Any suggestions please?
Thank you for your comment. If you could email me a picture or a short video of the space, it would be very helpful for making better suggestions. Here is my email. Vuleco12@gmail.com
Awesome video @vulecodiy! Question: in your video you mention 2x3's for the legs. Was that a typo? I saw in another comment elsewhere that you used all 2x4's so just wanted to clarify. Thanks.
Thanks, @chrisn.8814, for catching that mistake. Indeed, it was a typo. I meant to say I used 2x4s.
@@VULECODIY thanks for the quick response, and again, awesome video!
Hey I had a quick question I’m trying to make use plyboard of 15/32 for the doors, if I’m correct it converts to 1/2, so using concealed door hinges of 1/2 should be okay? or should I get a size shorter like 1/4 11/32?
I have never used concealed door hinges on plywood, only solid wood. I suggest you use 3/4 inch plywood, but first try installing it on scrap plywood. Did I answer your question?
@vulecodiy what wood did you use for studs, shelves and doors?
I used soft lumber for the studs and 3/4'' plywood for the shelves and doors.
is a list of the wood needed available?
I used 2"x4" inches of lumber and 3/4" inch plywood. for the edge bends, I used 1-1/2"x3/4" pine, but I would recommend hardwood, like maple. Did I answer your question?
Hello! is there a master blueprint plan to create this?
I am currently working on the plan.
Where did go to purchase the cabinet panels?
The Home Depot
