7:15 is where the hydraulic fun begins. An excellent, thorough step-by-step tutorial, and your ending instructions are vital - THANK YOU! 💯👍👍👍💯
No problem
In order to remove ALL the hydro fluid you need to release the cap on the side of each hydro pump, drain and refill system with 5 quarts, remove top caps to bleed the system, done!!. I own a repair shop and have done many grandstands. This is a simple reservoir fluid change which can work if don't mine mixing old with new.
Yup that’s correct i just didn’t need to do that
Great video.
Those grandstands look like real good mowers.
I like the bagger system that’s available for them like what spencer has on his.
The platform on the grandstand and vantage are nice and big.i like that
Yea Naylor just got one on his too. They both have the newer style Grandstand the so I wanna check into it and if it'll fit I may just add it before fall next year
No joking in this one. Answered so many of my questions before I even needed to ask them. Great videos Randy. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!!
Thanks buddy! Doing great
You definitely make The Best Videos out there for equipment....bar none!!
Thank you
Great video, need to change the fluid in my Vantage.
Liking the cordless drill holders, nice.
Thanks
You know I've had big challenges hit all at once last couple years but Great Things have Always been there Too like winning the Toro from Shawn.
Kinda took my breath finding myself back in your old garage just now.
I hated my divorce Brother.
Luv Ya Man👊🏼💚
Ya it was tough I'm not gonna lie but I'm going great now and if I hadn't been treated so poorly for so long, I wouldn't be able to recognize a good thing now... That's what I'm taking from it🤷
@@CountrysideStrong
Same👊🏼💚
That cam lock is actually an upgrade. A very worth while upgrade if I must say. I myself have a 60inch grandstand and it's great😀
Oh cool. I'm a fan of it for sure
Great tutorial! The mower looks great and it's gonna be a good asset for sure 👍
Thanks buddy. Merry Christmas to you and Christina!
@@CountrysideStrong same to you 🎅
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
The Grandstand is looking good! Just want to you and your family a merry Christmas 🎁!😀
Merry Christmas to you as well. Thank you
That aluminum pan looks like an old ice cube tray to me.
Very well could be
Good stuff. I love videos like this. Looks like someone didn't want that filter to come off. I saw someone on here use a filter wrench to tighten a filter and I was like, what are you doin' man... that kind of stuff drives me crazy. But anyway, love your vids man. Keep up the good work. Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas!
Agreed. Merry Christmas to you as well
Your comment about the filter "size" (10 micron vs 25 micron) is incorrect about a 25 micron being more restrictive than a 10 micron. A 10 micron is more restrictive in that it will trap particles larger than 10 microns whereas a 25 micron will only trap particles larger than 25 microns. The 10 micron filter will restrict fluid flow more so than the 25 micron filter.
Nice machine. Think you did good on that one.
Thanks
Great video bro!!!
Thanks
Project is coming along really well. Kevin and Karen polands lawn care Virginia Beach VA
Thanks
Oh, use compressed air chuck, blow air under that lever handle you are trying to get all the way on. Works like a charm
Thanks buddy someone said that in a comment. Never thought of it
Hot snot, that ole toro is going to be ready to get after it come spring!! Nice find and a great job putting it back in action!! How old is that mower by the way? Big Sky Lawn
I believe 2010
Mower sounded better this time and see you have some TV boxes sitting around must have been good for Christmas ; )
No TV boxes. Not sure what those were.
@@CountrysideStrong I guess we will find out at some point LOL
@@d.gentry3086 do you mean the big boxes in my garage? You already know what that is 😉
@@CountrysideStrong Yep those big TV boxes ; )
Try compressed air for that grip. Jam the tip at the open end, and push it on with your other hand. The air should ouff it up enough so you can get it on. We used to do it with handle grips on our sleds.
Oh, looks like I should have read the comments first.
Lol I ended up doing it. Worked really well
Blow air under that grip with a air compressor it will side right on we do that with dirt bike grips
Great idea thanks
Great video on this mower. Wish I could find one like that to have as a project. Here’s a good question for you. With the Vantage not being produced anymore and the Staris in its place, which one is better?? Also you have any insight on the new commercial 30 with the Kohler?
Have a great Christmas!!!
Not a fan of the Staris. I don't do commercial push mowers. I think the all around best is the Toro timemaster 30
Have you tried using an air nozzle to fit that handle on? That's what we use for hand grips of all kinds here. Might work. might not?
Yup allot of people suggested it. Worked great
Hey buddy i may or may not have bought an old vride today. It has the filter under the bottom between the wheels if i use the same method as you in this video will it introduce too much air into the hydro lines or do i just work it slow like you did will it work?
Your are exactly right. You can just work the air out. Usually easiest to jack the back wheels up and do it that way. Love your style buddy, look forward to the video on it..... You know, IF you bought it 🤣😉👍
what size is the front tires you ordered or part number.
I don't remember this is an older video
Where u get grips
eBay
Soak those hand grips in as hot of water as you can stand for about 10-15 minutes then give it a try. If you can’t get the one off to soak, wet a towel then nuke it in the microwave for a minute-wrap it around the handle, cover with a plastic bag, wait 10 minutes and push it on.
Used compressed air. Went right on
Heat gun or hair dryer that grip, soften it up a bit and work it on! 👍
I've thought of that. Might just work
@@CountrysideStrong easy enough and might make that grease work a bit better to, anyway back to c19 maintenance 😅🤦♂️ any easy ideas on things to check for with weak hydros?
@@alastairduncan1944 Stuart checking all the fittings first then move to checking all the lines for cracks
@@CountrysideStrong cant find any crappy hoses or anything but I am wondering of the drive axle oil has ever been changed in it, seems a bit messy to me like theres very fine shavings in it, gunna get some new oil on boxing day and give that a go.
@@alastairduncan1944 also make sure there's no air in the system
Compressed air will get the handle grips is slip on better
I did that, worked very well
That tray is for a 40 + year old freezer Ice tray
That's what someone said. I think that's pretty cool
Spencer lawn care has a toro with the new ajustment on the deck . Now i have seen your oil removal pump i ,m going to be looking into one your righ about the hydro.pump system you do not want to burn up the hydro pump,s otherwise ouch say,s your wallet that made my day to see that machine back running like a mower should 👍😄😀😃😁 i just thought about the one hand grip soak it in some hot water to make it expand then it will fit like a glove
I really think it's gonna be a nice machine
@@CountrysideStrong that is great now billy will be jumping at the bit to try it this coming grass season peace out to you for bringing that mower back into service your new nick name is second chance mower MAN 😁😁!!!!!
@@robertmailhos8159 lol I can live with that
@@CountrysideStrong i almost forgot roscoe is going want to try it also lol🤣😅😂
@@robertmailhos8159 oh I know lol
You just change a portion of oil the pumps still got old oil in them
Not enough to make a difference when you change it every season along with filter
Amsoil 20W-50 is better than Mobil 1
No it isn't. I used to be an Amsoil rep, don't let them bullshit you
You're doing it wrong!
Everytime!😉
