    I like Iida, but I want to see Haga back to the international circuit. He did say he'll try to go to Paris, so why not give him a chance? Now that he won the All Japan.

      Iida is still only young (23) so is best placed for the next Olympics if he can maintain some form. Haga is 30 now. Still strong, so will see.

    I dont understand what happened on some of these clips at the beginning - did the opponent tap, was it from a choke or some armlock, or was it considered a throw?

      Yeah. People don’t understand it unless they come here. I came here when I was 20 and aspired to compete on the international circuit, but I was quickly put in my place. If I can’t beat these everyday dudes, why do I feel I should be on the international stage? But maybe I was just weak minded

    In BJJ we call that a Clock Choke.

    • @ca1498
      @ca1498 Před 2 lety

      But in the standard version of the clock choke (which has a Judo name, and which I forgot) we sit through, and our near leg goes forward, almost like in a regular kesa/scarfhold, except the opponent is on his face and being strangled. In this strangle the attacker mounts the shoulder almost as if doing a bow-and-arrow. You could call this an inverted bow-and-arrow (just like there is an inverted armbar when the guy is on his stomach).
      Jeff Glover tells the story that he found out that such a choke exists when a 7-year old from his kids class climbed on his shoulders like a "horsie", connected his hands under Jeff's chin, started pulling up hard, and almost choked him.

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  Před 2 lety

    THERE IS GOOD NEWS !!
    The time of an unusual worldwide growth of lawlessness and money-loving traitors was predicted, в foreseen, by the creator, the master of the planet earth and the author of the Holy Scriptures, the Bible!
    What does it mean ?
    Very soon the intervention of a long-suffering, mercliful and holy god, whose works are perfect!
    Consider the following verses.
    God's works are perfect:
    Genesis 1:31
    Deuteronomy 32: 4
    What is happening in the world indicates the proximity of God's intervention:
    Revelation 12:12
    2.Timothy 3: 1-5,13
    Matthew 24: 3,11,12,14
    Revelation 11:18
    What do we do ?
    Develop friendship with God the Creator:
    Revelation 4:11
    Rev. 1: 3.
    Question. What awaits God's friends in the very near future?
    There will be no diseases and old age:
    Revelation 21: 4.5.
    Isn't that what Jesus did when he lived on earth ?!
    Yes, that's 100% true!
    Isn't it a great news and hope for our loved ones and children?!
