    7:30 I think our name for ura-nage is “bruneba” which means rotation.

    Back in the late 60' and early 70''s we would learn Ura Nage for Kata form but I cannot remember ever seeing it used in competition.

    Thank you for these videos-- miss Judo so much-- had to quit in due to knee injury-- tried to make a comeback but a motorcycle accident ended that dream for good.. We miss it tremendously-- was on track to be 1st degree black belt by 17- People , stay away from DonorCycles---have lost too many friends on them---Keep these great vids coming with your excellent narration-- pax out

    Great video compilation. A question on which I'd like to have your point of view: you name some techniques as Tani Otoshi. Can they be Ko Soto Gake being done on only one leg? Of course there are so many variations of techniques that very often I got confused. In any case, great video. Thanks.

      I think with Tani Otoshi there needs to be some dropping action, as it says in the name. So people are dropping their weight on their opponent and to do that usually they’re facing a different direction to kosoto gake
