People do not realise with a 4001 you have to help the neck like this due to the hairpin truss, thanks for showing.🇬🇧👍👍👍

I have a new series Rickenbacker 4003 Bass, went to check the double trussrods and found only 1 lol. i found out this is the case with the newer ones i think its a much better setup with just one double action trussrod. happy trails to you Nick.

Thanks chickenlickin, I've heard the newer 4003 basses have only one truss rod and the new bridge design. I gotta figure it's a lot easier to set up.

I have a 1980 4001 Jetglo, and I am having difficulty finding a truss rod wrench that will fit inside the cavity. I have 3 different wrenches, including the one you are using, and no luck. I contacted Rickenbacker, and they were of no help whatsoever. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble getting a wrench to fit into the truss rod cavity, that seems to be a problem on some Ricks. Look for a small, thin Open End Wrench 1/4 inch and grind down the sides enough to fit over the top of the truss rod nut. Check out "Dave's World of Fun Stuff" and search for his videos on Rickenbacker bass adjustments. He modified a wrench like that to fit the Rick and it works well. Hope that helps and let me know how it goes.

I use a Milwaukee 1/4” nut driver, works great.

    Joke about Rickenbacker basses:
    "What makes them so special?"
    "The spare trussrod!"

The humidity must be horrible there to have to reset this all the time?

Hi Poo Ninja, thanks for watching. Actually, this 4001 and my 4003 are solid basses and I usually don't have to adjust the necks. I only did it here to show how a neck adjustment was done on a 4001.
