hey, help me out here I have a personal theory, remember the clicker game of hyrule warriors where all the timelines ended up connecting in some way or form - what if this is the end of that situation just like how in the game you could see big open worlds as scrolling through the map screen what if this is the remnants of this? the clashing of all the worlds together meshing up creating a new but old super hyrule? with ancient things but yet the super futuristic tech like electricity from spirit tracks? is that where this lyes? in a fourth timeline?

My theory is that the game is a sequel to Skyward Sword, for quite a few reasons.
- In BotW, Link wakes up in a "Shrine of Resurrection" where he was probably hidden in when Calamity Ganon took over
- Calamity Ganon would be the first chronological appearance of Ganon, which makes sense as when you see him trapped in Hyrule Castle, he doesn't seem to have a body
- Part of my theory is that the Great Plateau is actually Skyloft, that has come down into Hyrule
- Also, Hyrule Castle is located very far away from the ruins of the Temple of Time, if this game is supposed to be anywhere after Ocarina of Time, they should be closer
- I think that by the end of the game, the castle will have been destroyed, so they rebuild it closer to the Temple of Time
- BotW Link resembles Skyward Sword Link more than any of the others
- Link in this game is right handed and the only other Link who is also chronologically right handed is Skyward Sword Link
- If you paid attention to the text, the goddess Hylia is mentioned several times, the goddess has only been mentioned in one other game, Skyward Sword
To summarize, I believe that this game takes place approximately one hundred years after the end of Skyward Sword, and during that century, Calamity Ganon appeared, started destroying the very new Hyrule, and forced Link into a cryogenic rest for reasons unknown. Also, I think the voice at the start of the game is the new Zelda, who is descendant of the Skyward Sword Zelda.

I think it plays after Skyward Sword too. And I actually think that the Korok Form is the originally form of the Kokiris. In BotW you randomly find them and they give you seeds. What if you all plant them in one hole and the Deku Tree will grow out of them? Obviously he grows at Minish Cap and Four Swords and takes finally place in Ocarina of Time where he is near death. Maybe the Deku Tree creates the Kokiri Forest, put a young Link in it and gathered all Koroks to protect him and let him grow up with actuall friends. So the Deku Tree transformed the Koroks into the Kokiris. And thats why the Kokiris never been seen ever again. Just because they have changed their forms back to the Koroks after OoT.
Just my personal thinking why the Koroks could be in BotW.
I really like your theory especially the point that Link is right handed and literally must be the successor of the previous Link in Skyward Sword. Perhaps he is the same one ...

you are probably right as for his stasis maybe the spirit of the master sword sensing Ganon returning teleported link who may have been old at the time or even dead to the chamber and resurrect him to battle Ganon
remember when demise placed the curse they didn't know that they will be reincarnated as well. so as a safety precaution. link probably at one point in time volunteered or agreed to do this. there is also the available tech in the skyward sword in which they can reverse engineer or was tought to create and at one point they made the kingdom to the way it was. plus we don't even know legend of hero as we know it exists yet . there are a lot of holes that still.

•Horses travel in herds not packs•Pigs and boars have tusks not horns•Links eyes and jewelry have always been blue•No where in Wind Waker does it state the Koroks evolved from the Kokiri -- the line goes something like the following:: "When the Kokiri came to live on the sea, they took on these forms."Highly suggesting they can indeed just change shape depending on the environment or situation.

here is something, andre, that you missed. at 29:24, the 4 picutures of the monks you provided clearly show that their hands form the triforce. 3 have hand positions of triangles facing up and 1 facing down

okay I'm at minute 30 where you're talking about the monks, so maybe you discuss this later on the video, but I gotta say... something seems curios, The monks have their hands in a different positions, like you said, and they have the position of the triforce, one on the top and two on the side, but then there's the forth one which is a triangle pointing down, this is obviously representing the triangle that forms in the center of the triforce once they are put together, but what does this mean? could it be that there's a forth element on the triforce besides Power, Wisdom and Courage?

This is not a new theory at all. It's called the "tetraforce theory" and it has been around for roughly 20 years, and has been debunked MANY times by theorists and by Nintendo themselves.

The mapping analysis is INSANE towards the end of the video. I mean, we now have a broad understanding of the topographical layout and regions of pretty much the entire game world. To accomplish that just from the footage available is seriously impressive.

To add to the discussion around the monks (which starts around 29:30), each monk seems to represent a different part of the triforce. They each have their hands in the shape of a triangle, but the position of their hands relative to their body is different. One is positioned at the top of his chest, directly under his chin, another is lower near the stomach on the left, another near the stomach on the right. These 3 seem to represent the 3 parts of the triforce. The final monk's hands are in an upside-down triangle near the center of the stomach, representing the empty center of the triforce.

WOW! I just finished the whole thing. Andre, Derrick, you both are remarkable, that you managed to do all this! All the work that must have gone into this is outstanding! Seriously, I could never in my life go through that much work and research! Going over the 10+ hours of Streamed gameplay again and again, playing the demo again and again trying to find proof for more stuff, analyzing everything again and again so thoroughly, and the whole spiel with mapping EVERYTHING! (Which was a humongous pain in the keister. ;-) ) You guys are insane! The amount of work in all this is freaking crazy! You deserve all the likes, subscribes, and views in the world for all this work! :D BTW I also LOVE all the jokes and references, especially the Toy Story one at 48:50!

This is what we've been asking for for months...and we got it XD
I don't care what timeline BoTW takes place in, I just want to play the damn thing now!! But I do disagree that the Downfall Timeline is the only timeline in which it could fall
Just because the Bridge that could be either the Great Bridge of Hylia or Eldin Bridge from TP is more repaired doesn't disregard the Child Timeline, we don't know where this game could actually take place if it was in the Child timeline, meaning that it's highly plausible for the bridge to have been repaired again before calamity Ganon struck Hyrule. Another thing is the Master Sword being rusty and look unused.. A lot of people seem to forget that 4 Swords Adventures takes place after TP in the Child Timeline and during that time the master Sword wasn't used, the 4 Sword from MC was, the game is also said to have taken place several hundred years after TP, meaning that the Master sword hadn't been used in nearly 1000 years or less
Also the Korok from Kokiri idea you applied to the Downfall Timeline can also be used for the Child timeline too
Because the Hylians destroyed their frosted and built Ordon over it the Kokiri could have changed for to the Koroks to escape them and if you look at the Koroks you will see they are highly suited to being camouflaged in a forest due to their body colours and being able to fly to escape enemies or Hylians
Also for more of a reason it could be on the Child Timeline is that Ganon also appeared after TP in 4SA and then was sealed, not killed, alongside Vaati in the 4Sword and also Wolf Link appearing in the game gives it even more of a reason to be in the Child Timeline because although it may not be the actual Wolf Link but some kind of hologram or representation of him made by the Sheikah Slate would mean that Wolf Link would have had to have appeared in the timeline BoTW is in before otherwise it would be like summoning a Rito to appear in a time they never existed in

Also with the several hundred years that went by after TP could mean that the already crumbling, decaying and nearly non existent Temple of Time ruins could have completely disappeared and that could be why the Master Sword is on a Forest location, also the ground around the Master Sword in BoTW looks like an ancient floor and pedestal that it's sitting, which looks very similar to the pedestal and steps in the ancient TP temple of time ruins
Decline of Hyrule? Which one has that? HMMMM, I WONDER... Decline of Hyrule/Last Hero. No, Adult timeline doesn't count because it's not a decline, it just gets flooded, then everything is normal then fight, blah blah, next game isn't even in Hyrule (ST has Hyrule but it's more of new Hyrule). Plus, the Child Era doesn't ever have a decline in that timeline.
The ruins are also in Decline too, where is the Master Sword in ALttP?

As I already said, I really don't care which timeline BoTW takes place in as the timelines aren't even correct, they were sloppily made to please fans that wanted one, which is why they all have consistent errors because the timelines were made for a bunch of games that weren't meant to have one.
As for the decline of Hyrule 👏🏻 well done! You, like many others including myself, have remembered that the Downfall Timeline has a decline in Hyrule.. And what? That doesn't mean any other games can't have one 😂
If the fact that Hyrule is in decline is the only thing you're going off of to say it CAN'T be in the child timeline then how do you make up for the fact that the game has Koroks from the adult Timeline, Wolf Link from the child, a replica of the Statue of the Goddess from the Unified timeline and many other Landmarks in the game that point to every timeline not just one?
There's also the fact that Eiji Aonuma stated that while we play BoTW we'll have some "oh I see moments" that will make us want to go back and play TP again.
As I've already stated, I really don't care which timeline the game takes place in because it doesn't matter to me, it doesn't take anything away from the franchise for me like it does to others, I was merely pointing out that there's a lot to point to it being in the Child timeline as well as the Downfall and there is also a lot that points to it being in the Unified timeline as well.
Oh and I wasn't going to say anything about the Adult timeline at all but you're right it is "more of a new Hyrule" considering that's what it's called.. New Hyrule, because it was founded by Tetra and Link and renamed after the original Hyrule :)

If you overlay the position of the monks' hands, they create a triforce shape. One is holding his hands higher and centered, two are lower and to the left or right, one is centered and upside down. You can see it at 29:22
It also looks like the ones with the cloth over their faces have a similar pattern. The other two for that region probably finish off the shape

The woman is Zelda and the old man is the king of Hyrule.
This is confirmed by the music, being Zelda's lullaby when she speaks at the top of the tower and Farewell Hyrule King/Hyrule Castle when the old man comes flying in with the glider when Link gets down from said tower.

The pillar of light at the meteorite drop point is reminiscent of treasures in Wind Waker, some of which would also disappear at the break of dawn.
The massive skull and ribcage could be those of giant Gorons.
Technically, there is at least one more appearance of the Kokiri: the Wind sage from Wind Waker.
About the after Twilight theory, I don't understand why you compare the "supposed bridge of Hylia" to the Bridge of Eldin. There also is a bridge over Lake Hylia in Twilight princess and that one remains intact throughout the game.
Have you considered that Zelda BotW could take place in the events leading up to Wind Waker? The "Breath of the Wild" could refer to the great flood that may lead to Wind Waker. Perhaps this game could lead to another timeline split. If Link does defeat Ganon, then the Great Flood doesn't happen. If Link doesn't defeat Ganon, then the King of Hyrule uses the Triforce to seal Ganon under the ocean. Also, the old man could be the king of Hyrule, living in exile. In Wind Waker, he appeared as a spirit because of his regret and unfinished duty, so this game could go into more detail on that. The sheikah towers and magic-powered technology and stuff kind of reminds me of the Tower of the Gods from Wind Waker.

The right handed can be explained with Amnesia. In rare cases some people with amnesia are dominate opposite of what they were before. So Link being right handed can be explained away using his Amnesia.
Also another thing in the official Hyrule Historia it tells a tale of a Hero that wielded the Master Sword who was a Knight of Hyrule that REAPPEARED within the ranks. And this Hero was the one that help seal Ganon back into the Sacred Realm. Ganon escaped the Sacred Realm after the Sages and Zelda sealed him away because of greedy people who learned about the existence of the Triforce. They broke the seal and Ganon escaped. This game might take place 100 years after that escaped after Zelda herself SEALED Ganon within the new Hyrule Castle(as we know the old one was destroyed by Ganon).
Plus the Link from A Link to the Past is a descendant of the one that can wield the Master Sword. So remember that the Master Sword in A Link to the Past was in good condition and not the condition BotW shows us that it is currently in. So in this game you find the sword and restore it back to full power than use it to seal Ganon in the Sacred/Dark Realm once and for all(until at least the events of A Link to the Past).
So GameXplain you can see how the sealing war is the best place to put this game in.

But the Link in Ocarina of Time had the Triforce symbol on his left hand. Also his hair is orange in contrast to Blonde from Oot. Perhaps this Link we see in Botw is the child of Oot's Link. A potential partner would've been Malon as there was a sort of love interest between the two, as Malon's hair was orange and could've dominated the genes with her hair color.

Amelle Kyre First off, there's never been any confirmation that the Hero's Shade is OoT Link. Secondly, there's still the question of where that comes from, since TP Link is the only one capable of transforming into a wolf. Finally, my main point was just that its far more likely the "Wolf Link" that can be brought into BotW is, lore-wise, just a random wolf and not TP Link in wolf form.

Really interesting points you made in this video! It was fascinating to listen to you guys speculate about the timeline as well as cover all the details from E3. It looks like we're really gearing up for an exciting new Zelda experience next year!
As someone who LOVES Zelda timeline theory, I've researched to try to get an indication of where BotW sits. I thought it might be fun to share a few tidbits I've found myself after listening to other's theories and researching:
-The presence of Koroks doesn't necessarily point to the Adult timeline. I've heard a lot of Zelda theorists say that the Koroks didn't necessarily evolve as a result of the Great Sea rising, but are instead the Kokiri reverting to their natural existence as forest sprites. They chose to assume child form in order for OoT Link to feel more at ease being raised among them. Therefore, Koroks can exist in any timeline, since they are not an evolution, but a deliberate transformation.
-The voice is most likely Zelda since, as the light shines from the castle and through the darkness, you can hear a broken, melancholy version of Zelda's lullaby for a brief moment. It's possible that she is acting as the seal holding Ganon in, as you guys hypothesized in this video.
-There's a theory going around that the Great Plateau is actually the ruins Hyrule Castle Town, since certain landmarks within the plateau's ruins match eerily well with Ocarina of Time's structures--from the great stone gates just out of Hyrule Castle, to the remains of the cobblestone roads from the heart of the town, to the foundation of old Hyrule Castle.

Wow, I am SUPER impressed by all the data you were able to glean from sources made available at the time! Obviously, there were some incorrect assertions/guesses, but you guys made an alarming number of correct conclusions based on the knowledge you had, especially the triangulation on the map for several landmarks, especially the towers. This was definitely worth the wait. I don't think anyone has come even close to figuring out some of the stuff you guys did. And even with all the different theories I've seen on this stuff, I don't think you guys missed pointing out something that someone else had.
