I graduated H.S. in '84 and IMHO this is song is right up there with Every Breath You Take , as one of the best tunes from one of the best music decades ever. The individual who disliked this video must have clicked the wrong "button" by mistake and hated themselves for it. That was awesome.

Thanks!! I'm getting right into this video editing stuff. I'm still using iMovie because it's pretty easy. Other more professional editing software programs intimidate me a bit....seems rather complicated, but I'll graduate to them at some point. I definitely will cover more U2 some day!!
@OfficialDrumsNdSkate I don't have any compression or gates. I just played around with my mixer till it sounded good...came-up with my sound quite by accident. I have a pre-set reverb effect on the whole kit that I can increase or decrease. I really cranked the reverb for my "Pour Some Sugar On Me" cover
Very good video, amazing and clean sounding drum set, amazing song to play to, but I think what's best about this is your technique and that you can see the groove flowing through you and how relaxed and how well you play with the groove.
Great job. That solo was weird for me to play til I learned it watching your video. I can play hot for teacher with my van halen tribute band (Xhalen) but then jump was given me trouble. Every van halen song or most of em have that one part that sounds easy then you play it and its a funky time signature. I thought I already knew most VH songs til I had to learn em lick for lick. Great job brother

I wish I could have seen what it looked like from over Stewart Copeland's set whenever he played. It adds a great dynamic and learning tool to those who drum pro or just fooling around. @LedZeppelin4509 I play along to the stereo. Very minimal sound from the speakers gets through my mics though. The drums come through very loud in the mix. I just layer a clean track of the song on top. Although, lately I've been wearing headphones to avoid hearing damage.
