Thanks. These are old songs that I've listened to for most of my life so I generally know where all the breaks are already. I listen to the song in detail for about a week when Im driving to work. Then I take it to the kit and have a crack at it, practicing on and off for about a week :)

Not sure, I've seen drum tabs both ways but if you check out this vid czcams.com/video/s3Ic9ESTS7c/video.html the drummer is playing the kick on every count. I like playing the kick on every beat as it helps drive the song.
Now that this has been pointed out I reckon the original does have kick on every beat. I have just been playing kick on 1 and 3. So will change that and see how it goes. And try out some of the other stuff you do. Thanks.
Thanks. I'll see what our bassist (and the band I guess) say. Just listened again and I reckon that it starts with 1,2,3,4 and then moves to 1 and 3 after the intro (about 40s in). My lot are just happy if I don't start it too fast. Apparently the bass for this is quite hard work at speed.
Same here!! I quit playing in '88!! Started back up in 2008! I just said to myself, "It's a nice day to start again!!" :)
