Do you know how much water is there? (Like in liters) I'm assuming it's small, so I'd say scarlet badis, or chili rasbora for a 18 liter and celestial pearl danios for a 35 liter

This turned out great!! I would recommend a morning gecko/vampire crab combo. The geckos would leave the adult crabs alone but would still keep their population in-check by eating the babies. This is a great food source for the geckos, and the crabs eat so much of everything else decomposing (they are detrivores) that their population in the tank would never go extinct.
This genuinely is the biggest suggestion, I have really considered everything and I will make sure I update this tank in a few weeks to let you know how it’s going 😄 (oh and also what I decide on adding) Thank you for watching too Luke ❤️

Even though I only do fish tanks, multi-species scapes are so interesting to me! I love paladariums, the best ones have both fish and land animals together, I usually see single species ones

Hi, just found you as I was planning to build a square tropical reef aquarium and put dart frogs in the middle. Now I think I'll put a platform in the middle with the frogs, tropical plants, waterfall, stream, etc..if I can fit it all. WDYT? Advice? I'll start with the reef aquarium and slowly build the paduarium in the middle. I like how your rock edges drip water. My plan was a 48x48 reef aquarium, with the island in the middle. The aquarium will be about 12-18 wide, leaving a 24x24 platform or a little smaller. I was also going to grow some cannabis on the island, WDYT?
There was a guy who put the geckos and vampire crabs together, maybe do something like that? His name is Dr Plants on youtube but im on mobile so its kind of a pain to put a link
I would typically do a water change every 4-5 days at first for the first month, after that it’ll be every week, a few months down the line it’s just the case of topping up the water level and siphoning the bottom whenever it’s too messy, that’s it really 😄 Further on is better as plants are pulling most of the nitrates out of the water column anyways 😄
Yeah exactly! also the roots from the plants in the canopy act as a mechanical filter & the biological side as the plants help with the nitrogen cycle :D
Do you happen to have a guide on keeping these setups clean? I'm locking at going bioactive with my ball pythons enclosure and id love to have a waterfall. I'm building a 4x2x2 pvc and can basically setup anything i want
Well anything harsh below I’d always say your clean up crew, you can add various types of springtails, isopods and even better - worms! I’d love to keep a ball python, especially building a tank for them too!
Hey Mily! I can update you now sadly, the queen unfortunately didn’t last long after transport and is no longer with us 😞 I’m going to Antcon this weekend though and hope to pick another colony up 😄 Hopefully a few others too!
@@AntScapes1 A Opheodrys aestivus or Opheodrys vernalis their great beginner snakes and they like to be together so you could get 2 or 3 in the same enclosure and they’d not only love it , but they’d look super cool in that ecosystem

If I had this paludarium, I'd add vampire crabs, mourning geckos, Malaysian trumpet snails, least killifish, and maybe a couple of reed frogs.

I keep a dog, in a large house style enclosure, we let it out of its containment multiple times a day though

What about apple snails, the golden or ivory ones would look lovely. They would enjoy the water and benefit from the damp areas to lay eggs. 🐌🐌
