- Hey guys,
This is me making and also explaining how I made my mountain island paludarium for a new ant colony & of course fish species!
I realised I had my lighting units the wrong way around at the end of the upload/day of recording too so just ignore that haha.
I also need to apologise for the knickers being revealed in the video. I already uploaded & had it on premiere as I noticed 😂🙈🙈.
I hope you like the build, it’s been in my brain for the last 3 months and seeing as I can barely draw I had to make sure what I was trying to picture worked.
I really like how it turned out personally and could possibly be my own personal favourite.

It took a lot longer than I expected to save up for the materials and then actually build the scape but I finally did it!

Thank you buddy! The flow is massive man, it’s got a really nice strong current going around as I over specced my filter thinking the water will get dirty quickly

Great video man and such a beautiful scape! What do you do when it comes to nuptial flight night with all the new queens?
Tbh I’m quite lucky as all of the queen go back inside the nest. I’m never 100% sure if they keep inbreeding but from what I’ve researched is that Trapjaw queens don’t live as long as the standard queen, around 2-3 years. She would then be older than this so I’m just keeping my fingers crossed. The males, however, they do fly around the room but never in mass like you would think. I’d say 2-3 at a time perhaps 1-2 times a Fortnite max. I find it awesome though tbh 😂😅
But yeah, most other species would cause mass chaos (if they inbreed you’re in trouble). But most sp are fine like this 😀❤️
All I would say is do your research about the species first, but that’s all really. See what they like, habits, environment and lifestyle. Then you just mirror it 😀

Great video 👍 I would love to try to make something like this, my only problem is for two - three months I live in a different state 450 miles away. so would be hard to transport a tank setup two times a year. Guess I will just enjoy seeing your setups. 😉😁

How much was the dragon stone? Or do you know of a cheaper alternative?
It was around £100 in weight, but you can go to garden centres etc where they sell HUGE Sacks of loads of different types of rock for much less ☺️❤️
