In today's video, we'll look at the wing programming language (aka winglang) and the wing console.
Specifically, we'll answer:
1. What is a "programming language for the cloud"?
2. What's so groundbreaking about Wing?
3. What are inflights and preflights?
4. Some wing code and demos

I'm officially intrigued 👍🏽
Wild, can’t wait to see where this goes. Want to give it a try
can you make a video about all the shortcuts you use in vscode?
This thing has a potential...
This will bring new stack to fullstack developer 🤣 as dealing with CSS while coding backend was not enough.
This is ridiculous. Devops in danger
amichai, do you use vim shortcuts in vscode?, or the default one
This is nuts icl
That seems really cool. But isn't that in danger due to the license change that Hashicorp made? Or do other targets support something else to terraform?
Hey, I'm one of the creators of Wing. Yes, Wing supports different target provisioning engines. Right now it can compile to Terraform and Cloudformation, but more engines will be added in the future (Pulumi, OpenTF, others)
@@winglangioawesome concept put to realisation...
ooh that awesome
Awesome. Wonder if they'll ever consider a Pulumi backend (or if Pulumi can add this abstraction and compete).
Hi, I'm one of the creators of Wing. Yes, will add a Pulumi backend
@@winglangio fabulous!!
Hi, thanks for the great content. Here is my feedback about your DDD course.
Pros:
- The instructor carries world-class hands-on experience on the subject.
- The course offers a great conceptual and architectural perspective on DDD.
Cons:
- With this price tag, it's surprising that the course lacks Q/A, making it a one-way communication(submit feedback on CZcams!).
- Too much off-the-camera coding, especially in the bounded context and integration events sections.
- The DomeTrain platform's inability to control playback speed
DomeTrain which uses Teachable does have a Playback Speed control under Settings --> Speed near bottom right of video content. At least, prior courses had this. One of the points I suspected may be an issue is the amount of off-the-camera coding, given what the course covers and the short duration of the course.
I loved how the API is shown in the console when you created multiple APIs and how it shows the relation between it and the other entities, but when I tried it that wasn't the case! is there a setting that I should trigger to see that kind of representation?
what the fuck this makes so much sense
haha exactly what I initially thought
This sounds very exciting, the part I'm concerned about is deployment and compatibility with terraform but I might give it a try later to see how it works.
What if I wanted to define a lambda with an X language (for example Python or Golang)?
I know nothing about cloud, how are you going to integrate a whole already existing service ?
Giggled at the azure function and imagined bill gates pointing a gun at you 😂
bring WinningLotteryTicket;
This is SUPER AMAZING!!! I LOVE IT
what's happening with your line numbers ?
Finally something more expressive than shitty YAML
DHH leaves the room
Still alfa but looks good😀
