Sounds like cutouts before the headers cause that's how mine sounded and now I have a o/r x with custom muffler deletes and it doesn't sound like that and you can tell in the video it's coming from underneath the car

You know, i honestly never have a thought about modern muscle cars actually could sound as nice as the classic muscles, at least not as good as this, but this really changed my oppinion about the modern ones. Great sound, awesome!
I've always said that the best thing about the 4.6 was the sound. It's powerful enough for a comparatively light car, but it sounds FUCKING AMAZING. especially with the right parts, like a good exhaust system...
Awesome! Reminds me of the Mustang sound from the chase scene in "Bullit". I bet if it were a manual you'd get that backfire thing from the movie between downshifts. You must get pulled over every 4 blocks. At least you would in my town! Damn.

@odessaboy That's a functional shaker hood system like the '03-04 Mach 1 came with from the factory. Usually, the fake scoop is the body colored scoop..."In most cases".
This stang sounds awesome! I just got completely new exhaust on my f150 (SLPs) and it's loud, but not quite the sound you got. I'll be makin some new vids soon.
America dont make well made or well handling cars but my GOD they make the best sounding! I can think of no finer sound than a huge V8 doing the business! Plus American cars have the best names. Thunderbird. Stingray. Barracuda. Mustang. Firebird. Charger. Challenger. I'm surprised they don't have a car called the "Testosterone"! Epic stuff! I guess theres the difference.. Some people like the old school sound and some like a more refined tone..I like the latter... although I dont think it's possible to make a mustang sound bad no matter what you do. Thumbs up for this guy finding the sound he likes...thats all that matters. I went through 5 mufflers before I found the one I liked.

thats because this is an old video, he has his car posted up on cardomain, where he has pictures of the built motor, and took it to the drag strip. he has like 100 videos of drag racing. this car is fast as hell, doesnt matter that it is an automatic it still runs in the low 10's
Are you kidding me? The 05 through 13 models are way better looking when compared to the 79-04 models. The 79-04 models were stripped down from their muscular look and made them more skinner but starting at 05 they reintroduced that muscle car look by making it more boxier, more curvier and more grit looking. For crying out loud they had to put the name "Mustang" on the bumper on 90's models for people to know it was a Mustang. The
Actually it does affect the tone of the exhaust. It's basically a huge CAI, which allows for a larger amount of air to flow into the engine, as well as out. Seeing that you have more air flowing out, the exhaust will be a little louder and smoother. Seeing that you can already notice a difference with normal aftermarket CAIs, you will definitely notice a difference with a Shaker hood. Don't believe me? Check out other vids with SLPs on, although loud, not nearly as loud and smooth as this.
He is going to use this as a strictly track car in the future, so an auto would be beneficial as they are more consistent at the track. No miss shifts to worry about.
We'll anyways im looking forward to getting the SLP Loudmouths for my 06 stang...ill put up my pics in a few hours...but love love love that beastly sound.

its a slp loud mouth exhaust. its only axel back. my buddy has it. it sounds great because all the new mustangs have a h pipe stock. so its already a 3 inch exhaust from the stock headers back. which if you where to get an exhaust thats most likely what you would buy anyway.
I personally know the owner. Awesome guy. The car as a new 302 and Kenne Bell S/C. It's putting down about 600 hp to the wheels. The car runs the 1/8 mile in about 6.7 and the 1/4 mile in the upper 10s.
@GMurphSC06GT it sound s pretty good, a little too raspy for me. Your car sounds sweet with those cams though. That's my next project for my GT. Then again, the shaker hood is also amazing, I just love seeing it move when you rev, haha
I have a setup similar to this currently, and o/r h and boom tubes (straight through resonator)...was fun for a while, it just lacks any tone. I like loud though so next week I'm changing the boom tubes for one chamber cherry bomb extremes
@MrAlvy17 Most drag cars are autos now all u have to do is put good perfomance parts in em with an auto/manual or full manually valve body. Slap sticks are quick you would be surprised. I drove a 440 coronet with one and there is no downtime between shifts and still tons of power. If u build em right they are awesome.
I remember that car. It had stock exhaust manifolds, high-flow cats and electric exhaust dumps. The LMs had nothing to do with the sound in this video.

I have a mustang myslef i was never a big fan of them but i grew on me, I have a 1985 fox body stang with a 460 in it easaly runs 10s but my gf has a 2007 gt and when she lets me borrow it i wont lie to you its a treat.

Actually, a Mach 1's hood looks different. It looks like the 95 Cobra R's hood with a stripe down the middle. This GT only has the shaker, but it looks good.
driving manual looks cool though, cant argue with that. plus, peeps that like to drive manual like to feel the pride that comes from doing the work themselves when they win in a race because they can do it right.
to donw2005: A few years back, I was watching 'Trucks!' and the host on the show, had a truck that he was customizing, with a borla exhuat i believe, but he also had open headers? and electric cutouts similar to what you have. I believe he called it an exhaust delete. I was just wondering a little more about that, becuase I find it hard to get the right info on google. So, the gases from the engine are going through the exhasut, flip the switch and it bypasses all the and goes through headers

No I agree. I got a 2005 Mustang GT and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The '05 is definitely my favorite model since the classics.

I wasn't aware of that. I know he ran the SLP with the stock catted H. He said that was his favorite exhaust set-up.

buying a gt mustang in about a week or so either a 2005, 2007, or 2009; not sure quite yet. I am really excited about it though
