    I've used the Diamond Protech Diamond Glass coating. It's extremely durable. I'm at 10 months now on 3 cars and it's still strong. Plenty of washes and wiper use to purposely see if it can be killed. One thing I noticed though, is that it's very tacky and although it is super hydrophobic, it has a poor "sliding angle" and the beads don't really come off the glass until you are going very fast. It seems that these coatings have to trade slickness or sliding angle to achieve durability?

    Ive not had an issue with the Glaco causing juddering. But I used the Glaco compound cleaner first, which is very impressive given how easy it is to use.

    Thx for the good work John. I also liked the comparison of the three different categories while considering Glaco Ultra.

    Hello sir, I have been using Angelwax H2GO in combination with Angelwax Clarity for years, Angelwax Clarity is a concentrated Windshield Washer Fluid that is an excellent partner for the widely used Angelwax H2Go window sealant. By using the Angelwax Clarity, the Angelwax H2Go remains in optimal condition because a little of those unique water-repellent properties are added after the windscreen washers are used. Thumbs up for the test. 👍

    Ordered the H2Go off the back of this. Looking forward to testing it out as I’ve only ever used the 6 month Glaco before

    Tried these products before I love the beading hate everything else especially the judder prefer a super clean windscreen that’s been clayed polished then cleaned with a quality window cleaner this process I do every 6 months and I find this gives me best results better clarity, smooth, wiper blade action and far cheaper
    Great video John a massive undertaking to give us these results 👍

    Great review John. I've previously used H2GO and still have some in the garage but I find the trigger nasty to use and so have gone back to RainX and also now trying the Soft99 products. Thanks for all of your good work.

    Great work, I like many others find it incredibly easy to watch your bouncing pair of hands! Sorry for jumping the gun in a comment of your previous video, agree that the soft99 Ultra is staggeringly good in performance but does have 1 flaw, you can't really tell how much is left in the bottle but the more you use and get used to it, the more you somehow seem to know. Just want to update a previous comment also, with regards to cheap general use microfibre cloths( not buffing like in your video) It was 50 for £20 but is now 50 for £17.84 or even better 100 for £26 - 26p per cloth (cloth size 30x30) Outstanding value in my opinion. For anyone interested Amazon AIDEA Microfibre Cloth

    Alcohol in screen wash is a glass sealant killer. I clean my wiper blades with WD-40 Silicone spray on old cloth and dry off well. Get excellent results. ✌🏻👍🏻🇬🇧

    Fantastic test. Glass sealants are so difficult to test against each other. You've nailed it Jon et al. I've used Rainx, Halfords own, G4, and G1. Halfords better than Rainx IMO, G1 application too faffy, 1 hour in total after prep. G4 was great. Rainx windscreen fluid additive is good . H2Go arrives tomorrow so we'll see how that is. I've used glass sealants for about 25 years now, and think they're great.

    Glad to hear at the end you still think highly of Glaco Ultra. That’s what I recently bought and about to apply to my cars.
    Also, Stoner has just released their own glass coating that they are claiming roughly a year of durability. If you do another test it may be another good but pricey consumer grade product.

    I got 9 months out of GLACO ultra from September onwards on a daily car used in all weathers. I’m more than happy with that as it was a bad winter last time round. A brilliant product but it needs 24 hours without getting wet after application so you need a garage or a decent dry spell of weather and that’s tricky at the moment! Applied the GTechniq C4.ti the weekend toy, so it’ll be interesting to see how long that lasts compared to the GLACO Ultra. Neither car is garaged but the daily covers far more miles a year. GTechniq don’t provide enough residue remover so a tip I found on CZcams is to empty it into a 250ml bottle of GTechniq’s panel wipe and then remove. The 15 minutes total application time is a combination of the 3 applications so circle for the windscreen, across - windscreen & rear, down -windscreen and rear, then across, windscreen, rear and side windows. Then just one removal of all starting with the windscreen as that’s where you started first, the the rear, then the sides windows. Takes no longer that GLACO ultra which was harder to remove but once done was well worth the effort.

    Great video! Not sure if you have Griots Garage over there? I’ve had good luck with Griots glass sealant. I generally apply it in the spring and in the fall before winter, so it lasts about 6mo. I rarely need to use the wipers above 25mph or so, that may be why it lasts that long.

    Hi John, I always watch your videos and greatly enjoy your advice and thorough testing. Just a bit of a heads up on the new cars thing; although the glass does experience some hydrophobic properties I’m not sure it actually has a sealant applied from factories (my car is a month old, wasn’t washed by the dealer) I already have the dreaded arch marking on the windshield so I’ll be looking to apply a glass sealant to it soon enough!

  • @Audittr2108
    @Audittr2108 Před 10 měsíci

    I’ve used many over the years and my conclusion is the better ones are the easiest to apply then you can do it regularly without too much hassle. The longer lasting still loose performance after too long so a quick top up is the way to go.

    i have a noob question. what do these provide that a ceramic protection doesnt? or a sealant? ive used the orange fluid for washer spray and then when i coat my car or seal it, i put it on the windows as well. the water flys off easily. i never use wipers

    Jon, I may have missed it but can you comment on ghosting/smearing of these glass sealants? It is my main concern with them and their effects at night with oncoming headlights. It seems a bunch seem to leave this trail behind each wiper swipe.
    What did you find with these sealants, did some exhibit them and some not? Few details of those that didn't would be good so I can narrow down my choice, thanks.

      @@ForensicDetailing Thanks Jon, will read into that one more. Other one I was considering was Glaco Ultra (and its compound), does that exhibit this ghosting? How would you compare IW vs that, I know you're a fan of that Ultra stuff.

    Good video mate, I use rainX only, but like you say it's in the preparation, I also change the wiper blades and coat with rainX , change the washer fluid to rainX washer fluid and give the customer rainX glass cleaner so they can clean their external glass which in turn tops up the protection, I use this on all my vehicles and can see life span of 6 months or so.
    I also run a professional detailing business (173 custom detailing) be good to meet up some time maybe waxstock ?

      @ForensicDetailing alright Jon, just wondering with regards to the IW Diamond... you mentioned its catatonic like spray & rinse sealant. Just wondering could you use it as a wet coat topper by spraying on a wet windscreen & working into the glass until dry to prolong it?

  • @theseb1979
    @theseb1979 Před 10 měsíci +1

    The cost per application is meaningless unless you consider the durability of the application into the formula. However, for some of us it means nothing as well. What I really want to know is does the product actually help to drive in heavy rain. I don’t feel like the previous video really answered that question.
    I am glad that you included the judder though. That is a deal breaker to me and I don’t think you penalised those that did cause judder enough. It drives me insane.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  Před 10 měsíci +4

      you cant really answer that question because you would need like consistent rain to know how they compare and be able to drive them all out in the same car in the same rain etc.. cost per application is also not meaningless. Its literally the cost per application.

    • @theseb1979
      @theseb1979 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@ForensicDetailingpersonally, I would like to see you driving around with a huge pane of glass and multiple wipers attached to the roof of your car 😂. On a serious note. I don’t think hydrophobidididididty covers it. The question for me is also what happens to that water. Slickness of the product surely must be a factor. Perhaps the old favourite slickness test could have been included.
      What I meant is that cost per application cannot be considered in isolation. The durability of each application has to be considered. Making up some numbers to illustrate: product x costs £1 per application and lasts 1 year. Product y costs £1.5 per application and lasts two years. Your current judging criteria would award product x, which is incorrect.
      Anyway, thanks for everything you do. It is appreciated by all of us who do in fact have special drawers for microfibre applicators.

    • @trifin5772
      @trifin5772 Před 10 měsíci

      Cost per application may not be meaningless but do understand that you are using it as a testing metric and people will buy based on cost. Cost of total life from product would actually be more helpful?
