Have been looking at this compressor for over a year, I wanted the quietest one I could find. Finally picked the 2 gallon up a week ago and it is so quiet, love it
The compressor is way more quiet than the video would lead you to believe. I'm a finish carpenter and have run mine every day all day for a month now. Love this bad boy, no complaints or issues so far
Thanks for the review. Now that it's 2 years out are there any additional insights worth noting? Also, do you know if repair parts are available for this compressor? That's always been my apprehension about HF; being able to maintain/repair their products. Thanks.
First thing you should do is read the owner's manual, It states It needs to be broken in. Very FIRST TIME you start it you're supposed to let it run with valve open for 30 minutes straight, this guy didn't do that as I'm sure many others don't either which shortens the life expectancy in the long run, this compressor actually has two motors that's why it runs slower and quieter yet builds pressure quickly that also helps prolong the life compared to other single motor higher revving similar oilless compressors. Also it's a good habit to relieve the pressure when you're done, a compressor that already has high pressure inside and is started up in the future will make it work much harder right off the bat again that can shorten the life. Good luck.✌️
Excellent review. Question: I like my tire pressure on my truck at 60 PSI, will this tiny compressor pump the tire @ 60 PSI quickly with no problem. Thanks in advance.
I got the 4 gallon 200 psi and put air in my wifes tire. It took one second to put 10 pounds of air in the tire, just one quick pull of trigger. I could see it doing 60 in no time.
I never really thought about it til you commented. I use go pros for most of my videos and they are 4:3. I just found out how to change the ratio to 16:9 in Adobe Premiere. Thanks for the suggestion. Now I can get rid of those bars!
U have to open the valve on the tank and let.it.run 4 15 mins to break in the motor on it. The tank shouldn't be pressurized with air until that.is.done.
Thanks for watching and subscribing if you have. Chevy...they sucked me in 20+ years ago with their GM card! They’ve served me well I can’t complain too much. 😀
So, it's a gigantic oversized tire pump? I've a lunchbox compressor for that. Let's see it in action on some some guns. Why does everyone make these unpacking videos and talking about how great it may be.
It was quite informative actually. Surprisingly quick doing a truck tire given it’s scfm so you now know it can do nailers and if you are a mechanic you already know the scfm is too low for your guns
Marcelo Doliveira , at 8-10 feet it is pretty pleasant. Close...not so much. I think some of it had to do with being brand new and at first start up it was noisy. It has quieted down. Almost like it had to have a break in period. Thanks for watching!
@@LancoAmish That's because it does need a break in period. In the manual it says to run it for 30 mins straight with the drain valve open. I did that on mine when i first got it. When I use it now it is very quiet.

Very informative and solid review. Thanks!
lovely content
Nice review 👍 thank you
Great review! Thanks
Jay Gore , thanks for watching!
The one gallong hooked to my plasma cutter makes it heaven ... best purchase ever. I could only find the one gallon version.
Ben Benjamin , they seem to be quality products.
@@LancoAmish for the price yes ... I plugged in the 1 gallon unit & knew it was great as soon as it started.
Its a good idea when u get a new air compressor to let it run for a bit with the valve open. To break in the compressor
Thanks for the heads up. Thanks for watching.
The manual will tell you to do that
Yes, the manual says 30 minutes break in with drain open.
Very nice review, Thanks,
Do you know if this compressor is also available with a 220 V electric motor?
Prionel , thanks for watching! I don’t believe it is.

I am looking hard at the 1 gallon for occasional trim work with a brad gun and possibly a 15 gauge.
Mark Allen , hope the video was of use. Thanks for watching
Hi, can you change out the couplers? Say to the Kobolt High Flow from Lowes? There is no backing nut to hold the air tube from twisting.
I don’t know.
Nice ! Did you know that you can set the regulator pressure and you won't over fill the tire that way? just sayin...
Excellent review. Question: I like my tire pressure on my truck at 60 PSI, will this tiny compressor pump the tire @ 60 PSI quickly with no problem. Thanks in advance.
caltari , I don’t see why it would have any problem at all. Thanks for watching!

I just bought the 4 gallon 200 PSI model. Have you had any issues with your Fortress?
None at all. Thanks for watching. If you have some time check out my channel for other videos.
Nice review but why the 4:3 aspect ratio? Most phones and tablets are 16:9.

i just bought one and am hoping i can say the same in a years time
so its bin over a year how do you like your compressor today?
Love it. It seems like new still.

How are we supposed to trust a reviewer who owns a Chevy???
Just kidding, thanks for the good review.

Wait you started engine out box, you forgot the oil.
Thanks for watching. It’s an oil-less compressor.

ultra quiet...kkkk very noisy...

Probably because he didn't break the motor in at all. He just started running it under pressure right off the bat.
