I feel I've been missing my youth, not that I wish I could go back to those days and lose all the progress I made, but I'm approaching 40 and noticing the signs in my body. Yup, it's never going to look 20 again. I realize it's not supposed to, but it's been an adjustment. I'm not a mother, but I'm in that phase of my life. It feels odd caring about that when I'd resolved not to as a younger woman. I guess I didn't know I'd fall victim to the same insecurities I once told my mother she didn't need to worry about. Sorry, Mom. I hope you took it as a compliment. I get it now.
