What's so special about Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man? With arms outstretched, the man fills the irreconcilable spaces of a circle and a square -- symbolizing the Renaissance-era belief in the mutable nature of humankind. James Earle explains the geometric, religious and philosophical significance of this deceptively simple drawing.

Leonardo da Vinci learned anatomy from actual human dissections. He was given permission by hospitals in Florence and Milan. His drawings were so detailed that they can still be found in anatomy text books.

I can't believe I never really knew what the Vitruvian man was all about. I thought it was just some kind of iconic study in anatomy and some natural ratios (artists do love their ratios). But, of course, Leonardo was thinking about much more than that.

      That would be impossible
Da Vinci has a long history of studying mathematics, philosophy, and had a good history of feud against the Catholic dogma. Each and every single one of his work tells of various ideas that have proven controversial and historical for the advancement of mankind.
Please stop judging art through image alone and learn the history of its author and the work. Modern art is so looked down upon because no one does research about the history anymore.
(Well, unless you count video games and films as art...which it is)

Its often obvious that ancient Greek or Roman mythology often had multiple meanings. Which is obvious when you notice how weird some of the Greek myths are. Obviously many were not meant to be literal. I wonder if the same goes for this artwork... that it DOES have true meanings or applications relating to nature's design or dimensions... but also some secondary purpose or message which is hiding in plane sight.

And this exactly why I shouldn't had trusted CZcams comments regarding videos, you all don't know a damn thing about why Da'Vinci constructed this Vitruvian man in the first place. It's not about anatomical proportion, it's something else and I cannot share with you the truth, not unless I deconstruct this BS...See the beginning of the video? It contains clues about animators, then this video starts with a silly story about how this man was created but what it doesn't tell you is for what purpose was this man created...

Fascinating facts about the Vitruvian man. Unrelated but also incredibly useful as an element of the sketch - Leonardo marked out his proportions for each section fairly clearly, making it a good template to learn how to proportion the human figure. My first year in art school we actually used the Vitruvian Man as a point of reference for this reason.

Had a wild, intense dream several months ago, where I saw the Vitruvian man image drawn big on my bedroom wall in red, and I felt connected to the whole universe, to everything, for about 7 seconds. I had nothing but unconditional love flowing through me. It was like a feeling of true power. I guess some of the explanations in this video explains the meaning behind my dream. The use of free will to learn about love, to grow and flow in the opposite direction of evil. The choice is ours. Nothing to do with religion (of which I am not any part of). I know that this experience had to have meant something powerful, because the Vitruvian man image is completely random to me and something I don't even think about. It was totally out of left field.

That was excellent and I just came from another Leonardo video (see below link) where they went further with its proportions and chambers of the Great Pyramid and spiritual energy, etc. For myself, about Humans "Being" in the center and able to move up and down the chain; it has great meaning to me. Since my awakening and experiences of "multidimensional'" realms and Selves and such things; this makes great sense to how they thought or what they knew and did themselves; Leonardo, the other guy in the video and the ancients. Spirit-Science is physical and non physical, its sacred math, vibration, sound and light frequencies and overall its the Macro in the Micro and vice versa. For myself, I dont always know the details, math and so on, but I do know from experiences how things are and work to great extents. Like a guy says in another video I will leave for all you who feel it and get inspired, "Wayseers have an unexplainable knack for just knowing the Way. They sense it in their very being. They can't tell you why or how they arrived at the right answer. They just know it in their core. They can't show their work. So don't ask. Their minds simply resonate with the Way. When the Way is present, so are they."
Anyway when Humans have their own experiences inner and outer, here and beyond, their will be no more "hidden/coded" anything and new terms will be the norm, like energy centers, multi-d, Star Beings, densities, dimensions-consciousness and so on. Enjoy the two vids below and lots of love to you all. Love Christopher

Vitruvian man was first described by a hatch ranking officer in Caesars army-Vetruvius. He listed those attributes that would make the perfect man. Including the naval and circle, and the outstretched arms equaling the height of a man. He listed approximately 20 different attributes. Leading up to DaVinci, there were several poor attempts at illustrating the list. DaVinci was the closest accomplishing that feat.
