    The bobbit worm is also called the Eunice worm. It is very voracious and can grow longer than a meter, but will only show the top portion above the sand in a wait for passing prey.

    My dad was a mechanic. As a kid I would play with some of the tools from time to time. One of my favorites was this long flexible thing with a handle on one end and a retractable spring loaded claw on the other end. It was used for picking up small objects that were in tight places. This Bobbit Worm reminds me of that tool.

    The more I observe the bobbit worm, the less scary it becomes. The way this little guy behaved suggests he's used to these feeding sessions since he was willing to venture out a little ways for the dead fish, but still actively checks his surroundings and retreats when he gets too anxious. No signs of aggression from the bobbit worm either, this guy seemed pretty passive for the most part.

    This is terrifying but, it’d be kind of interesting to see this in a sea world exhibition. Although because of how damaging it can be, the worm would probably have a private aquarium just to prevent any unnecessary damage.
    I also kind of wished that EVNautilus or Team Nautilus will find one someday!

      Well, what I've learned from people fishing for Bobbit worms, is that most of their power is in their jaws, while their thousands of little legs help move the body back inside its hole. It's literally blind, but uses its five feelers to search for prey. The person used a thicker mouse trap, hooks and an empty water bottle to snap at the head, then slowly drag it out of the hole. Pretty neat, actually! ^^

      Many people watching the video think the fish is alive, because the owner is holding it and moving it in a way to imitate a live fish, to entice the worm. Also, it's still called feeding when you drop prey into an enclosure, live or not. Thanks for the sarcasm though.
