    I have my V4 almost a year now and have never had a problem. Fast, accurate and a very easy learning curve to learning how to program the App for optimum speed and accuracy. Considering buying a second one for backup just in case I ever have an issue with mine

    I've been saying "it's such an awesome time to be alive if you're a shooter" a lot lately because we have so many options when it comes to guns, cartridges, and gear. It doesn't matter if you're just getting into plinking, shooting competitions, or hunting or you been doing it for a long time the stuff we have access to these days compared to 15-20 years ago is kind of mind-boggling because it just keeps getting better... Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

    I've added a "helping hands magic hand" to my bench. It is a small 4x6 metal place with an adjustable hand that holds my funnel in place. It works great with these types of powder throwers if you seat a bullet immediately after dumping powder.

    Just got my v4 yesterday. Got it set up and running this afternoon. Didn't know about the advanced settings, but just using the basic ones, it drops a charge faster than I can dump one in a case and seat a bullet. Don't see any reason to try to tweak it to go any faster. The Supertrickler looks cool and the potential future expandability sounds good, but at $200 more, not sure it's worth it at this point, but I'll keep an eye on any future features they come up with.

    Thanks again for the video. I don't want a V3/4 simply because of it forces you to use an App. There are other things that I seem to like better about the super trickler as well. I've never used either one but first impressions are what they are.

    I had purchased the Ingenuity Powder Meter back in May to go with my V4 (didn't want to wait.)
    When the V4 arrived I went ahead and paired it up with the ingenuity unit and found that when raised 1.5" it could be aimed inside the hopper from above which required no drilling of the top plate.
    Dead on. 👍

    I've watched and enjoyed the knowledge you share thank you. Last week I talked with Mr Borden from Borden actions and the owner of attrun. Both explained to me how benchrest shooting works. Ie gear. I also read the rule book. Why don't you shoot bench rest.? Is your rifles not accurate enough to win a match.? Just curious. I am not being ignorant toward you. I also found out that a lot has changed since bench rest was started years ago. Now you can use a 6 inch fore end . Use to be only 3 inch in light rifle.

    I purchased my SuperTrickler late last year and it showed up in March. I really enjoy the speed and accuracy, but a few days ago it started making a loud noise when throwing powder and the large powder tube would hang up. I sent Rex and customer service an email a few days ago and haven't heard back. The frustration is beginning to set in!

    I'm considering which one to get, thanks for the review. I noticed when you lifted the SuperTrickler off the scale there seemed to be deposits of powder underneath? Does this (or could it) compromise charge weights at all compared with the AutoTrickler which is more visable?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  Před rokem +3

      You are correct, there's a gap where powder can fall but they don't have any effect on the weighing function. I just blow whatever is there out every time I empty the unit.

    I appreciate your impartial review John, but for someone who doesn't own either one yet, it's pretty obvious which one is going to be more desired. I think the SuperTrickler is going to help Adam catch up on his backorders! Probably getting cancellations to boot. 6 month wait times for normies was ridiculous. If SuperTrickler can keep up with demand they are going to take a BIG piece of the pie. Nice to have another option now, even if it does cost more.

  • @unknown_blank_blank_blank

    I would consider changing from the v3 to the supertrickler when Rex makes that weighing and powder dump track for 200 rounds.
    Until then... Stocking up on the components / barrels and living life through you. Thank you John!

    I think it was the video with the V3 vs Super Trickler that you commented on customer service from the big guys but RCBS claims their Match Master is just as accurate. Would be great to see an in depth test of Auto Trickler, Super Trickler, and Match Master. Comparing with the same check weight how repeatable the measurements are and stability over time. Temperature is probably a big variable with all the electronics but I suspect most people are reloading in a somewhat temperature stable environment and could be an ignored variable or if you were bored and wanted to make a video outside in 15 degree temperatures I would watch it.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  Před rokem +1

      I had a couple Matchmasters and I really struggled with them and got rid of them. Super slow (in excess of 30 sections) in match mode which is only accurate to .04gr instead of .02gr with AT or ST. It's faster mode is more like 15-20 seconds but only accurate to .10gr.

    • @dalehorkey4476
      @dalehorkey4476 Před rokem

      I agree compare with the RCBS. It my not suit your needs but not everyone watching is a competitive shooter demanding 10 second charges at .02 accuracy. The higher price point of the AT and ST may put some of your views out of the market.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  Před rokem +2

      @@dalehorkey4476 With all due respect it's not worth my time to do a video review on. I had a couple of them and they were aggravating at best to use. They are still $800 when on sale (normally $900) at which is only one or two hundred under an AutoTrickler system and it doesn't even come close to the speed, accuracy or interface of the AutoTrickler. The MatchMaster is still a $800-900 strain gauge vs. the mag-force restoration of the A&D Fx120i and will as a result always allow for outside influences such as phones and fluorescent lighting to affect it plus a strain gauge can never be as accurate or relatable as a mag-force gauge no matter what anyone says. Yes it has a nicer strain gauge, but it's still a strain gauge.
      For me (and this is just my opinion) you go one of two ways. You either keep it cost effective with something like the RCBS Charemaster Link (their new one) or older Lite (if you can find a nice used one) which I do actually think is a really great machine for the money and is actually capable of the same accuracy of the Matchmaster (except for the match mode which is super slow) or you step up with the AT or ST system. For me the Matchmaster is just weirdly positioned with its price vs. capabilities and I don't like it as a result. I know there's gonna people out there who like it for one reason or another, just not me.

    For me I like to keep my V4 down and not pick it up when I empty it just mainly bc I think the tilt of it is one of the issues people are having. I pick up the hopper and empty the back gate in it. Then run the large then small drum while giving it a slight tilt the same way u do to prime it. Then empty the back gate again and it's good to go. Just something to think about. It's also funny a guy on snipers hide that says he lives close to F class John loves to use his name to say John says the v4 is junk and he sold his bc they don't work lol this video seems to say otherwise. There are a handful of people that can't seem to make the v4 worl and love to bash it. @@FClassJohn for sure, I also have another $100 plus invested in a custom enclosure that has a adjuster for angle and sliding doors to keep dust out on my V4’s as I couldn’t stand putting the scale out of level or sticking pieces of paper under the back of it as Adam suggests to get the proper flow rate with large kernel powders.
      I will say having had the V4’s for quite some time and now having ST for about a month I prefer the ST over the V4 for a lot of reasons but I can see some people that don’t like to tinker just being better off with a AT rather then a ST.
