Not sure if this is what you meant by fan control but if you press FN+F you can toggle through the different fan modes (silent, normal, performance, and turbo), which are also accessible through the Acer Quick Access app which is pre-installed.

@@xoradatoI have the first edition, still held up nicely even with routine gaming, though I went to a service center to clean the fans for free before the two year warranty ran out so here's for another couple years!

I had the 2021 model and upgraded to this 2023 model you reviewed. The biggest highlight is definitely the screen, it's simply gorgeous with high refresh rate and ultra low response times. 4050 is also much more powerful than 3050 and 13th gen Intel processors have better battery life compared to Ryzen 5800U. It also supports Optimus and you can turn off integrated graphics! Very useful feature when you want to use Nvidia image scaling. Overall it's better in every single regard and the upgrade was worth it. It is, however, a little more expensive than the 2021 model but considering the build quality and comparing to the competition it's still okay price to performance wise.

This is the laptop I’m currently considering. My main use will be LrC and Ps and perhaps some light video editing in the future. Currently £1,499 in the UK which is the absolute maximum I’m willing to spend and I can’t see any better options for the same price or less. Just worried about the fan noise!

Acer laptops are just a waste of money

@EM-ec8zo They use low quality components (poor screen colour accuracy. Their laptop's motherboards mostly turn faulty after a while because of short circuited, very weak thermal design, and etc)
