Hello everyone! The chat was closed so suddenly that we didn't have time to thank everyone for joining the premiere party & for all the lovely comments. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You guys are the best. We'll see you soon on the road or in the next chat! 😍
Thank you for taking the time to chat with us!! Have a great rest of your day! =D
We love your work, guys:) You are brilliant as always :)
I've only found you guys recently and have fallen in love with all of your amazing songs, please keep up the great work, I can't wait to see more from you! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks guys ❤️
Thank you ! I'm always waiting for your music.
Came here from Control, loving the band
Welcome to the madness! It's a great place to be!
So glad you found them, you're in for a wild ride! Wild, yet amazing in every possible way! There are many people that got familiar with them through Alan Wake. It's so cool that Control is now doing the same thing that Alan Wake did for many people.
Welcome aboard!
I actually learned about them back when Alan Wake first came out, been hooked every since.
@@KanohiVahi I found them though Max Payne. I still feel nostalgic whenever I listen to 'Late goodbye'
Same 👍
I’m currently playing Control and stumbled across this song while playing the main objective, it was such a great moment and I’m glad the game doesn’t force the song upon the player. Instead, it lets people discover it for themselves and that makes it much greater.
Have you hit the Ashtray Maze yet?
Same here. I discovered it in the game and i was absolutely amazed by it. Great song!
Yeah, great thanks to Control developers for putting such gems into the game.
I loved that part of the game
Yo a bot just stole your comment lol

Ah, i see you're a man of culture/CONTROL as well.

The winner !!
Wouldn't that make Poets of the Fall/Old Gods of Asgard an entity of power on the level of The Director? Since they can nab the Hot Line without their minds melting?

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poets are in their golden age and we hope this age lasts forever 💜
This is so true!!! When I think about them I always wish these men have long healthy years full of inspiration
Their cooperation with Remedy was IMO the best thing they did, it gave them some much needed exposure, their contributions to Control were fantastic (both My Dark Disquiet and the aptly named Control), after all that's how I found them.
Hope there is at least one more song for them in the upcoming Control DLCs.
I see that all this must end. Burn Out choice on questionnaire. The approaching Rubedo. PotF are drawing to a close.
@@AscendantStoic and for upcoming Remedy games! :( I was so sad that in Quantum Break there wasn't PotF song :/
@@MuamerkkiGaming They made up for that with Control's awesome OST.
Honestly, the fact that so many new people are here because of Control warms my heart as you can't imagine. The best band in our current world deserved this and more.
Its just went free this month so you will see many MANY new faces. I discovered them through Alan Wake.....and we need more games in this Universe with bands like this.
I too also discovered Poets through Alan Wake 🔦(super amazing game) I dream of seeing Poets in person one day, and It makes me so happy to hear/see more people all over are starting to know of them 😃💡✌
I came here too because control was free this month. Unbelievable that I never heard about these guys before.
I´ve been a fan of POTF for years and i was just about to start playing control, now i know it has POTF in it, i will enjoy this game.
Also discovered them via Alan Wake. And now they’re my most played music. This song is a masterpiece, I would honestly just stand in the room in Control and let the song play through every time I passed through the area.
You really took CONTROL over people with this song.

At this point Marko is flexing with his creepy smiling character. We need to see that immortalised in a form of a final boss or a movie character.
A lot of us feel that way. There's a fb group Marko Saaresto for the next bond villain, I think he would be a perfect, creepy fit.
But would you want to kill him if he was a final boss? Personally, I have too much respect for him to kill him even in a virtual world. Unless he was a really evil bastard who killed my wife and my daughter like in the first Max Payne. Then I would have to blow his brains out. lol
Join the Hiss. We have great music.

The song that introduced me to PotF when I found that acoustics lab in Control, and then read the lyrics which were actually written on the whiteboard in the same lab, it was love from first song 😉
I'm glad Control is introducing more people. I was hooked the first time I heard their music in Alan Wake way back in the day.
Yeah "War" & "The Poet and the Muse" were what got me into PotF back in Alan Wake. Then "Carnival of Rust" sealed my fandom.
I’m so thrilled to see this band becoming more well known. Some say Alan Wake, some say Control. Try Max Payne 2 back in 2003. The lead singer Marko and Sam Lake have been collaborating artistically for a great number of years. Marko portrayed “Vladimir Lem” in the first Max Payne. He also did the voice for narration on “Address Unknown” in the motel room when you’re walking through to get to Vinnie.
@@xcrystalexx Wow, I didn't know that they go back that far.

Feb 2022 - I discovered this song in the Acoustic Lab in Research in Control. After listening to it several times I then googled the song and was delighted to find out about the band. I had never heard of them before, but now I want to hear more, more, more! I was also excited to hear about their history with Remedy games - which I am intending to play shortly (Control is the first Remedy game I've played much of). I remember the second time I found myself back in Research within the game, for several minutes I panicked as I couldn't find the lab where I had listened to that awesome song lol. I made it a priority to know the exact location of the lab ever since!
yeah same thing happened to me. Now I'm a huge fan of the band.

O yeah! 😄 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I discovered the band through Alan Wake, they went by Old Gods of Asgard, it’s incredible and I recommend checking out their old songs if you haven’t already
I discovered the band when I finished Max Payne 2 and their song Late Goodbye played in the ending credits. It was such a great music choice for credits.
I love that there's a soundproof room in a video game that plays this song only. I stared at the chalkboard with the lyrics, played the tape, and then captured the footage. It exists as my own music video on the ps4.

Night, the world, it's mine, with nobody else out here
It's time, run wild and royally cavalier
To burn, ignite, I'd do it for so much less
When all is made clear there is nothing else
And here we stand, the sweet arresting duality
And I come to, it's resin all over me
Will I awake, will I get a ride with you
In this race of two
We're an endless stream of choices
We're the softest murmur of voices
Without names we're fantasising
Dancing like flames, mesmerising
My dark disquiet playing such eerie harmonies
Making waves and diving under
Lightning to the sound of thunder
My dark disquiet singing such haunting melodies
So white, so still, so bright, it's almost too painful now
I'm ready to fight, to run from the light
And here now comes the sweet corrupting reality
While now I'm free, will I once cease to be
Will I awake, will I get a ride with you
In this race of two
We are momentary masters
We're false kings and bastards
Without names we're fantasising
Dancing like flames, mesmerising
My dark disquiet playing such eerie harmonies
Making waves and diving under
Lightning to the sound of thunder
My dark disquiet singing such haunting melodies
We are marionettes by strings animated
Yet like lovers of strings liberated
Without names we're fantasising
Dancing like flames, mesmerising
My dark disquiet playing such eerie harmonies
Making waves and diving under
Lightning to the sound of thunder
My dark disquiet singing such haunting melodies
Brothers by blood separated
Marionettes animated
Lovers of strings liberated

Imagine picking up the phone and on the other side a random guy just starts singing like this....
I would not hang up in a million years.....
dude i'd die happy x'D
Here's a video of another Finn singing into the phone:
czcams.com/video/7s8Nt2OxjFc/video.html
It's a Finnish cartoon called Pasila, the police station in that district of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. It's a district where the center is now expanding - and Pasila is the main police station of the city.
The actor singing this is a famous comedian. His character in the series is the Chief of the District, dreaming of his soon to come retirement. He functions and disfunctions on the power of medication. What he sings is a hit song from the 80's I think, of a famous Finnish lady singer. It's called Anna mulle tähtitaivas - 'Give Me the Starry Sky'.
He starts right, but goes to his own lyrics when he picks up the phone singing: give me beating for one hour (anna mulle tunti turpaan) - it rhymes nicely in Finnish :)
Continues: … another one of brass music, hey! (bangs the phone closed - never even listening who or what it was)
Then: give my some medication, (now switching back to the real lyrics:) that I have the power to face tomorrow, (going impro, likely forgetting the lyrics again:) give me at least some (on his knees:) Well, give me some now (can be understood dirty as in English, I wondered the finger movement there…) give it now to MEEE! (throws the brush).
It often happens to him that he blunders, and bad, just as he should do some important police business. And the others then have to back him up, and clean the public image of the police. Yet he keeps his job, he's like a cork always bouncing back on the surface somehow. In the station they can keep him functional by reminding him of the medication, but outside the station, his mess often slips from his junior officers' control.
All the other police in the station are also some kind of psychic cases. There IS one that passes as normal, but his complex is to dis himself and admire the wackos, especially his reckless immature, who is genious but childish and Oidipal narcissist, whose rockstar kind of behaviour his 'solid guy' partner has to clean up. This stand up guy is always passed when someone is needed to an important task or Office. And he himself doesn't think it odd himself: everything's in order. So the normal is the exception in this police station. He's the one walking in the room at the end of the video.
OK - I got excited: check some with English texting, if you got interested. Now you have 3 types of Finnish song traditions: Singing janitor Ahti, his friends: the PotF & comedy singing which is much loved in Finland.

After every songs of Poets of fall, my emotions “dancing like flames, mesmerizing”. You are the best!!!
Allusions I noticed:
1) The phone (which is quite obvious yet kinda satisfying) and whole video as an allusion to Contol Remedy.
2) Marko's make-up like in False Kings but upgrated.
3) Jari's and Marko's outfits including the rings like in Choice Millionaire (or ChoiceMillionaire-ish).
4) Marko's moves and some sequences of shots like in Drama For Life.
5) The dancers are... from Coraline? Is it an allusion to Neil Gaiman's story? I'm not sure about that one.
6) The dancers also reminded me of Carnival of Rust.
7) Jani standing there alone reminded me of Cradled In Love video.
Maybe I'm wrong. If you've noticed more - add your comments. It's soooo exciting to see more easter eggs :D

Interesting contrast from False Kings' imagery where False Kings focused on the outward appearance and the right side of the face while the scarred half would show up here and there, but this focuses on the left side of the face with the white eye/scars and rarely shows the other half.
It is a political and religious symbolism. Blindness in the right eye symbolises the blindness of right-wing ideologies; false kings are afflicted with wealth, capitalism, corruption by money. In a religious context, it is blindness by believing they are acting in the name of God, even if their actions harm innocent people. Blindness in the left eye reflects the blindness is left-wing ideologies, which extend out to national socialism and communism, where they controlled by people in censorship, and what is said in the mass media about them. In a religious context, antitheism is as equally destructive because it spreads hatred against anything different, similar to literalist religious person.
