Great video. I just noticed the not-so-nice comments on facebook regarding your purchases. I don't usually comment on YT or FB, but just want you to know that this and your myhousewifelife channel are two of my favorite channels that I watch. I've gotten many great ideas for organizing and purchased a few products too after seeing your uses and reviews of them. I love your weekend vlogs and look forward to them every week. Please don't take the negativity to heart, though I know it can be difficult not to. People can be so quick to say hurtful things without thinking of the person who is actually receiving these cruel messages. There are far more of us that are so happy with all you share with us, and are happy FOR you when you can treat yourself to something you want and deserve. You should never have to explain yourself for this. Please keep doing what makes you happy. :)
Considering reviewing and trying make up is part of your job, I do not feel like you have too much at all. I enjoy hearing your opinions/reviews on make up because then I know what to buy and don't waste money on stuff that sucks. Thanks for sharing!

Very thorough and detailed as always! I'm a prof. organizer so I always watch org. videos for a different perspective. I have a suggestion: Now that you've condensed so much (BIG bravo, btw), you've freed so much shelf and drawer space that you are now "underutilizing." You could easily move your small jewelry off the doors altogether. It would look even more streamlined and clean. You could move your lip stuff to drawers or even get another set of Mujis and use that for jewelry, and/or buy stacking jewelry trays for the shelves or empty drawers. Obvi your system works great for you, but just wanted to share another suggestion! :)

Wow, just wow. Is it an American things have so much makeup? I wear makeup everyday for work and it all fits in one bag. I have one mascara, one blush, two eyeshadow quads, three or four lipsticks. Not getting at you personally Jen, as I can see that on YT having a ton of makeup seems to be a 'thing' but I can't see why you'd ever need over 100 lipsticks at one time. Do you ever feel it might be excessive? TFS x

I have an old antique vanity that I love but have only ever stored jewelry and random things in. I recently was given the chair that goes with it so I think it will become by new "get ready" station. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love how you are the only YT beauty "junkie" I know that weeds through her make up collection regularly and on time. It's something that really bugs me when I look at make up collection videos featuring 5 years old lip glosses. Thumbs up for smart organization!
If you turn the empty organizers upside down it will raise the others even more and might make it easier.

I put cinnamon sticks in all my drawers or cupboards or any closed top drawers.
it acts as a natural deodorizer.

Jen,Thanks for the updated video, My vanity organization never turns out as good as yours, my make -up that I use most often never gets put back in its rightful spot. I still find items in the back of my vanity that I forgot I had! lol
I have really enjoyed watching your organizational videos. Your wardrobe videos inspired me to go through my wardrobe and purge the pieces I no longer need. I am moving in 2 weeks, so finally having the inspiration to part with things couldn't have come at a better time. I have gotten rid of so much over the past few weeks and I am itching to part with more. Thank you for the inspiration. :)
Jen, thank you for sharing your vanity organization with us. I have two teenaged daughters that share a room. Watching this gave me an good idea on how to separate their things, as we reorganize before school starts late August. I really appreciate your videos.
You could use the cork board for inspiration for makeup looks you want to try. Pin up looks to try later. Pictures of whinny or inspirational quotes to lift you up!! Great video!! Your closet video inspired me to go through mine!
That would be great but I can't even get push pins to stick. I had to hammer the two bee ones I have on there and it's a nuisance to remove them.

Hi, Jen! To protect the desk part of the vanity, you can have a custom cut glass sheet to fit that area. That way it won't cause any more future damages to the top. I used to have that in my parents house. - Melissa (Brazil)

i remember you said you made a binder to help with decorating your house when you first bought it. Would you consider doing a video on that? I would be a lot of help to me.
I'd love to see the process of how you do your makeup. Like getting the various supplies out of the cabinets, setting up your towel, wiping your brushes, putting it all away, etc. I'd like to do a setup more like yours where everything is tucked away but I have a hard time picturing how to use it without getting messy. BTW, I don't think you have overly too much makeup for your line of work. Thanks!

Re the wear and tear on your vanity too. Wipe down the surface of the wood with a damp paper towel. Match a wax crayon to the colour of the paint. Lightly colour in the scuffs and scratches making sure that they're all coloured. Repeat as needed and after about 30 minutes go back and colour in anything that you've missed. Voila! instant furniture restoration! Good Luck :)

I currently only have a makeup bag full of make up with me. I relocated from Australia to England and clearly couldn't bring my collection with me... It was donated to family and friends before I left.. The things I didn't take with me I mean :)

Great video - we are doing an entire bathroom remodel and I am going to have a built in vanity - I am going to show the contractors your video and see if they can incorporate something with those type of doors that open to reveal additional storage - your vanity is very nice!!
It's a nice way to use space efficiently.
Hi Jen, if you were at all bothered by the chips you could get a touch up pen (you can get them from Amazon under furniture repair) in the same colour as the vanity and just fill in the white bits.
It's not perfection but it does make a big difference

I just had an idea for the unused cork board. I know it's not 'practical' as such, but a beauty board is a nice way to decorate it. I print things from Pinterest and cut things out of magazines that I currently like (make up looks I want to try, hair styles I like, etc) and put them up above my vanity. It's easy to change up regularly and adds a bit of inspiration and color to the unused space. As soon as you need the space again, you can just take it back down. Just an idea.

Loved this video! Your lip tower is awesome! I too am a lip product junkie. I have been thinking of getting the Muji drawers and they have been out of stock. I am Anxiously waiting for them to come back in :) I love all the clear plastic inserts looks like they are easy to clean and makes things very visible. I occasionally watch your videos because I love organizational types of videos. BUT.... It would be nice if you would do something that isn't so materialistic. Yes... You live an extravagant life due to your husband and his job. You travel a lot, you buy a lot, you have excessive amounts of clothes and purses (and makeup)... BUT... being that you are in such a good place financially, it would be nice to see you do more for your community. Donate food and clothing..NOT donating makeup because those in need really don't need make up. You do have a sweet personality and I'm not trying to be mean. But it would be interesting to see how you would react if you suddenly found yourself living paycheck to paycheck like the majority of people. You'd realize that life does not revolve around your loads of expensive collections. There's more important things in life than makeup. I know I'll get bad comments for this but I don't expect anything less from CZcams. We are allowed to voice our opinions.
Finally someone who uses their brain to think...for me as a man it would be so disappointing if my wife to be would turn out to be so empty.
Loved your video. Inspired to organize my daughter's costume jewelry which is very cute but hard to see and enjoy. Also, the jewelry bags are a great idea and will be heading over to that website you mentioned in the comments. I think a vanity like this would be perfect and even when my daughter is a teen I think she would love it....and I agree with what you said....vertical is the way to go.
I have some dark furniture that "chips" as well - you may already know this, but you can get markers specifically made to cover up these kinds of things ... they're really great!

hello jen, i must say i agree to pamom1980 ! i have been watching some of the videos and i found them helpful and i don't want to judge and you seem like you are a nice person but after a while i can`t help myself wanting to tell you that organization and things are totally okay and i really think you are doing a good job, but i think you are lost in all your things and spend so much time "getting" things right that you are somehow waisting your life-time... you are still young and maybe it would help you to focus on other things because i see that you buy things over and over again just to find the perfect way to organize things and to hunt for the one and only everlasting solution. since i am a little older than you i can tell you that i have been doing similar for a long time just finding: there is no perfect thing and no perfect organization. and the most important thing: it does`t matter!! i think it is great that you keep your house nice and clean and things really good to handle but thats the point were you should stop and appreciate a well working house- as yours! i know you have been mentioning that you have social anxiety and i had that too and because of that i started to focus on perfect things to buy and to create a perfect surrounding so i am save... as mentioned also your videos have helped me with that BUT since i have a smaller apartment and i am very good at letting go of things my total organization and decluttering took only a few month and than it really got scary because when i was done i loved my apartment but i was feeling empty and really had to learn to fill my life with something that really scared me. since i don't have too much money i really forbid myself to buy new things over and over. it was very difficult and i felt so empty and even more scary i had to step outside and do more social things. that was so scary and in the beginning the emptiness was almost painful but maybe to help you i can tell you that after a while it became easier and easier. i am still not the most outgoing person but today i only go shopping when i definitely need something and twice a year for some new clothes and the rest of the time i am doing other things. as said earlier i don't want to be judgmental it is only a good advice. you have a nice husband and a nice home so what do you have to fear? step out of your comfort zone, enjoy your things but maybe hesitate next time you buy the next thing and ask wether you need it or not. nobody gets happy owning 50 lipsticks. i like make-up and i have stuff for everyday make-up and for going out. i choose the colors i like and i enjoy wearing them. and when they are empty or i don't like it anymore ( which happens very seldom)- i go out to a store, enjoy discovering new things and buy myself something new. in todays society we are all becoming chasers , buying and buying and no matter how hard we try the second we have something new, there is again something newer, better etc. it will never end. i have accepted that that is the way our society works at the moment, but i have also decided not to be a marionette of this game ... so this is really a long comment- please forgive my english not being totally perfect- since it is not my native language. greetings and i hope that you have a happy life. bine

Lived this video Jen, I'm feeling inspired to reorganise mine now! I'm a little shocked at the paint chipping, you seem so particular about your things/home usually. But I suppose it's only painted over white, so it's going to happen. If you touched it up, you would see it too. Now win situation! I'd put your make upon the top 3 draws on the right, not bottom. Would make sense to me xx

Hey Jen -- great video! I love your organizing ideas. You have a beautiful vanity and marvelous collection. Have you ever thought of having a piece of glass custom cut to fit your vanity top work area? We just recently refinished an antique vanity and the glass cut to fit saves all the wear and tear and makes cleanup a snap.

A suggestion for your loose shadow/highlighter drawer...instead of nesting the empty container with the divided container it may work better to flip it over and stack the container. That way your products are closer to the too of the drawer and easier for you to see while seated.

I wish my bedroom was large enough for a vanity like that - I love it! I also have made two Muji towers like that and really need to purge. I don't know if you considered this or not, but the drawers on the left - the one with the drawer on top of an empty drawer - if you turned the empty one upside down, it would raise the sectioned one on top. I hope that makes sense! I really like the jewelry storage. I'm not crazy about the little bags - but the fact that they are non-tarnish is great, and it really makes sense for as much as you travel. You don't have any statement necklaces? They would be really cute on you - but maybe they aren't your style. TFS!!
I always admire them on others but I prefer more delicate pieces on myself. For now at least :)

I love watching makeup collection/organization videos. You have such a nice organization and you're so lucky to have such a large space for storage! Every time I watch your videos I want to go on Amazon and buy tons of Linus storage bins (they do carry them there, by InterDesign).

Jen, you and I have about the same amount of make-up. My husband always tell me "you only have one face, why do you need so much make-up"? He does not understand we need this amount for different looks.
You don't, though! I've seen girls with very small (we're talking absolute minimal) collections do dozens of different looks. It's the skill, not the product. ;)
Some people will never understand. It's a collection! Some people collect comic books or dolls movies or video games/consoles it doesn't hurt people it's your life and your money you do you girl.
Don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but you can use a wax crayon of a similar colour to your vanity paint to fill in the little chips! Thank you so much for another great video. X

I have also found that you can get felt tip markers at an art supply store in many colors for this purpose
