  • Pardubice is one hour east of Prague, located on the major east-west railway corridor. The functionalist 1950s red brick terminal building is an architectural landmark, which was first designed in 1947 and then built between 1951 and 1958.
It is about to undergo a comprehensive renovation during the coming years. The local track infrastructure will also be upgraded as part of an EU-funded project. Situated on the Praha - Brno - Wien corridor, Pardubice is served by three different passenger operators, including the national incumbent České dráhy as well as the private companies RegioJet and Leo Express.
This short film from June 2020 shows passenger trains from all three operators as well as freight traffic and local stopping services formed of EMUs or diesel railcars. The variety of rolling stock to be seen in Pardubice is thus quite diverse and typical for a major Czech station. In addition to EuroCity trains, the RailJet also calls in Pardubice and appears at the end of this clip.
