    The Ghana Government lost a huge opportunity to build a once for all BIG airport(terminal).In a few years time,Kumasi will need a much bigger terminal.Good to see some shops already opening and operating.

      U cant just build a bigger terminal based on future speculation, it will be a mistake especially wen u use a loan to build it, data available indicate 400,000 yearly which doesn't warrant for a bigger airport, so yes authorities took the right decision to build this

      Such a bad business mindset. Which one is the missed opportunity? Businesses grow with time. This airport alone is estimated to receive about 800000 people. So what are you talking about? Have you forgotten about the proverb "do not put all your eggs in one basket"?

    God bless you Kwaku . God bless Ghana and Africa entirely. I am expecting Prempeh International will be the busiest airport in Ghana because of its geographical location . Most flights coming out of Europe should make their final destination in Ghana at Prempeh International, looking at the geographical location . At least that will save them 45 minutes of time and fuel .

    It is so difficult to correct a Kumasiano especially when he/she does not know a thing.
    Sometimes it feels like you guys hate to hear the truth Or you prefer lies over truth
    ‼️FACTS ONLY
    Kumasi airport in its current state is an International Airport but NOTE, we have different categories of Airports.
    The Airports in Tamale and Accra are on higher category because they have long runways that can land any size of Aircraft but Kumasi Airport cannot.
    For now only small to medium aircrafts like what brought Egypt and Nigerian players can land there. The huge planes cannot come to Kumasi because the runway is short.
    Even if medium planes from Togo, Burkina faso, Nigeria or any African country are the only planes to land in Kumasi koraa *it will still be an international Airport* because those flights are considered International flights.
    This is the hard truth you guys are ignoring

      @ChristopherAmankwah Před 3 dny +1

      Exactly, we still dont have a runway long enough to land a boeing 747 but yet these people are saying we can🤦🏾‍♂️

      I wonder how the average Kumasiano thinks. They just do not like to accept the truth especially when it borders on *Asanteman or NPP* things.
      They will rather accept lies from those quarters than to listen to the truth .
      The facts are, Kumasi Airport in its current state is an *International Airport* and nobody can change that but what the experts are saying is the Kumasi Airport in its current state is just a *Low tier International Airport* meaning it cannot operate fully as Kotoka or Tamalae Airports can operate.
      Now the issue is that, Government will need to demolish some communities near the Airport to allow for the extension of the runway but they are afraid to do so and that's what is making Kumasi airport to remain a low tier international airport for now.

    • @JC-ty3zq
      @JC-ty3zq Před 3 dny +1

      It cost so much to extend a runway.I was surprised at the huge costs involved looking at extension of runways at other airports outside Ghana.

    The airlines will come if there is an economic booming in Kumasi and the economic activities starts to pick up. Without that, trust me, the international airlines will not come. The cost involve is extremely high and if the airline can't make money, they are not coming. Probably in 50 years we will see what we are all looking for but that will depend of having a government that cares about developing in the country.

      "55 percent of air travellers in the country originate from the Ashanti region. (wow, this is so huge and a massive record). The new Prempeh International Airport facility will ease the burden of travelling to Accra for international flights."

      @@Kwakulove1 Try not to cloud your judgement with political gimmicks. What they are doing is to win the ashanti vote because they have studied the ashantis and realized that they can easily be tricked with the shining object. Right now Kumasi Airport is the shining object. meanwhile, where are the planes? Nowhere! No government in Ghana can force any airline to fly to kumasi if it not financially beneficial to the airline. The solution is that, we should all force the government to start our own international airline that can fly from both Accra and kumasi directly to europe and america. That's what we need to fight for because we can't force foreign airlines to land somewhere that is financially not beneficial to them. By the way, the 55% is misleading. It's used to confused you. The fact is that, the majority of the people that fly in and out of Ghana are al foreigners, and we all know where most of the lives (Accra).
