I loved how rhythmically playful this was. The modern incarnation of this music often turns into a boring, too-consistent shred fest, but this was actually interesting.
That was just not good. Listen to Django play it and then listen to this. I’m a fan of Nolan but this was so choppy and all over the place. Gypsy players try too hard sometimes.
He grabbed it, ran off with it, reached his goal, and knew exactly where he was each step of the way. Wonderful!
