@@Butters159 Highly recommend - I do it almost every year for Thanksgiving. I do herbs, onion, lemon, and garlic inside the bird and a little herbs and garlic under the skin and then wrap it all in bacon. It basically bastes itself. It's AMAZING.

I don’t know much about Parks and Rec, but from what I’ve seen Ron looks like the kind of guy who says he hates cats and then his family gets a cat and he spends all his time with it.
I’ve been watching since the first season and I am sorry to say that this is my first comment. This episode was fantastic! Maybe it’s because I’m under the weather but the dry humor of your impersonations really made me happy. Plus, the quick reference to Chris Traeger was perfect. Thank you for being so awesome!

It is better to use larger wood chunks rather than soaking chips. Soaking them only delays the smoke, they do not smoke longer. it will also reduce the heat of the charcoal. With that said, your Swanson looks delicious!
That is not a quote from the show, but its the most "Ron Swanson" thing I've ever heard/read.
I believe soaking the chips is to make them burn less efficiently, and therefore smokier.
