L'Inconnue was definitely my favourite from this album. Also, I would definitely enjoy a B-sides and Rarities reaction -- some songs on there are really great :)
Yessss!! 🎉 My favourite album. The contrast between Black Car and Lose Your Smile is so sweet. I’m pretty sure the band said in an interview that this album’s got a lot of “dark glam” and these two tracks make it very apparent to me. L’Inconnue is probably my favourite track, so haunting yet so beautiful. Girl Of The Year will never get old, either. Glad you enjoyed, I’m sure it’ll continue to grow on you. : )
‘Dark Glam’ is a perfect description! Especially for Black Car. L’Inconnue is a great choice, also one of my favs :) reminds me of some Cocteau Twins stuff like the Milk & Kisses album. Thank you for watching!!
@@shyuperc Unrelated to Beach House, but do you know the band Pond? They’ve got an album coming out on the 21st that I think is gonna knock people’s socks off. Two of the singles (So Lo and I’m Stung) are already two of my fav tracks of theirs. Love your videos so much! You’re probably the only music reaction channel I still keep up with. 👊
Wow that means a lot :’) thank you. I’ve actually heard a couple of Pond’s tracks, I don’t know why I haven’t revisited them but the first few tracks on ‘The Weather’ were great. ‘Sweep me off my feet’ was incredible. I’d love to check out their next release!
@@shyuperc Oh hell yeah haha, definitely try out The Weather sometime. It was produced by Kevin Parker which is super cool, they’re all good friends. Their other 2 albums I’d recommend are Tasmania and Man It Feels Like Space Again. These guys are criminally underrated, and they absolutely rip in a live setting.
Lool this was actually my plan when I started the channel, to do movie/series reactions on a separate channel most likely. We’ll see how it goes! But I’ve seen Shutter Island and I looove that film, it blew my mind lol. I usually have a lot to say about movies/shows so I’d love to do it :))
I would love it if you could react to 'A deeper understanding' by The war on drugs. Great reaction as always. This was the first beach house album i listened to and i have been hooked ever since.
This album is very hit or miss for me. The first two tracks are some of my all-time favourite BH songs (pay no mind is basically my mantra lol) but I really don't care for the second half. Also, if you thought this was experimental for them just wait until you hear Once Twice Melody hahah P.s. B-Sides and Rarities is okay, but not quintessential tbh
