I'm so happy that you saw the Panorama😀It's not just a painting, it's a part of our history.
I'm sure your visit to this place is more valuable than a visit of an average foreign tourist since you know who Kosciuszko was, what the partitions were and how important the fight for freedom is.
And a word to Dominik- you did a great job as a tour guide!

Glad you enjoyed your trip! If you want to try to make żurek, you can find the sour base in the Polish shops. It's usually sold in a plastic or glass bottles. You then add it to a cooked broth with potaoes. If the taste or texture is not quite right, you can add the instant żurek from the sachet to thicken it. It goes well with fried onion, sausage and hard boiled egg (as you probably already know 🙂). Alternatively look for Krakus żurek soup in a large "box" (same as you have for e.g. 1l juices).

Rob, if you want to try such exemplary Polish pierogi, not some modifications or modern variations, then try dumplings with sauered cabage and mushrooms. Another note - it's not about any mushrooms like champignones or shiitake; it's about wild forest mushrooms because their aroma is unmatched. The second of the classic variations is Ruskie pierogi. They consist not only of cheese but also of potatoes and sautéed onions. The combination may sound crazy, but for some reason, it fits together perfectly. And.... soups! We are kingdom of soups. My advise: krupnik, barszcz, barszcz ukraiński, żurek, kwaśnica, grzybowa. Enjoy! Bon apetite. And next time take your family in better time then winter. And (final and) next time come to Warszawa. Best!

The expansion of Wrocław airport is planned in two stages 2026-2028 and 2033-2035 and they will expand the terminal and a hotel at the airport and they will build a multi-storey car park, new wheel roads, runways etc. so the airport after the reconstruction will be able to serve 10 million people per year 🙂

Torun, Bydgoszcz, Łódź, Poznan, Częstochowa, Bielsko Biala, Lublin and Bialystok are worth a look… and Lviv was a polish city until WW2… it’s 50km over Polish border in Ukraine if you are a risk taker! Lviv (Lwow -‘Lvooof!’ Is a very eclectic city and unlike anything else in Poland or Ukraine due to the various cultures that shared the space over the years and their influences on it being such a diverse place.
Sadly it is now in Ukraine and a very much forgotten place that holds a lot of Polish culture influence and history.

I recommend (in southern Poland) Zamość, Lublin, and Solina with the huge Solina lake. Lake Solina was created due to the construction of a dam on the San River in the Solina commune in 1969. There are flooded village buildings under the water of the lake. There is a lot of historic Orthodox churches ("cerkiew" singular, "cerkwie" plural).
We also have a Viking church!
Wang Church or Wang Temple - an evangelical parish church in Karpacz in the Karkonosze Mountains, moved in 1842 from the town of Vang, located on Lake Vangsmjøsa in Norway. It is considered the oldest wooden church in Poland.
And in the North of Poland: "Trójmisto" (Tricity).
There is a Zoo in Gdańsk Oliwa district.
Sopot has a beautiful "Monciak" promenade (street name is Monte Cassino). The Sopot Pier is the most famous attraction of the resort. It is the longest pier on the Baltic Sea and the longest wooden pier in Europe. It is about half a kilometer long - the walking part is 511.5 m, of which 458 m goes deep into the Bay of Gdańsk.
Sopot also has a Hippodrome. Horse competitions, balloon competitions, hunting races in pursuit of a fox's tail, dog races, and even ostrich races took place in the Sopot Hippodrome.
The history of the Sopot Hippodrome began in the 1890s when the Black Hussars Regiment used the area for hunting runs. In 1898, the first stand was built.
Gdynia also has a promenade and a pier; those three cities are connected via a path walk near the sea. You have a sea on one side and the forest on the other :D

Hi guys! You couldn't have surprised me more today! This time you visited my old neighborhood. On the street where you saw the colorful yards (exactly opposite) is my primary school. In the Church of 11,000 Virgins (St. Joseph) I received religious education and Catholic sacraments (btw today I no longer consider myself a member of the Catholic Church). But from the Sky Tower you could see which part of Wrocław (there wasn't much left there after WW II, which is why now there are mainly post-communist blocks of flats there) could be omitted, because sightseeing is a waste of time 😝 On the other site, the view is actually more interesting - among other things: you can see the place (near the Centennial Hall) where I currently live, which looks like an eagle from a bird's eye view, and its architecture is somewhat reminiscent of English - mainly terraced houses. Oh, I feel that next time I will have to show you my hometown and its hidden gems myself, because your current city guide (sorry Dominik 😜) shows you the ones that deserve the least attention...😝

czcams.com/video/aLk6M_cK4-8/video.html - This is monument of catholic bishop (and later cardinal) of Wrocław - Bolesław Kominek. As a part of his monument there is a famous and important in Polish modern history sentence, which Kominek wrote - "we forgive and we ask for forgiveness". This is part of "Letter of Reconciliation of the Polish Bishops to the German Bishops" that was sent by Polish episcopate in 1965. The communist authorities then unleashed a huge hunt for the Catholic Church that they dared to strive for reconciliation with the Germans after the Second World War.

Don't feel bad using your fingers to eat, if you tried to eat the soup with your hands, that would be a bit weird lol, cutlery is overrated, especially chopsticks, worst food utensil invention ever. as long as you have washed your hands, have at it.

I gotta say you got the crap end of the stick with that high rise view, all I saw was commie blocks on that side of the city. That really sucks because I know there is more to see in Wrocław than commie blocks, you seen one you’ve seen them all.
