The first man invented a routine and a plastic stick for nearly 1 million $
I have watched a lot of shark tank and I don’t think iv ever seen so much money backing such an insignificant product lol
It's as dumb as anything I've ever seen on any shark tank episode around the world can't believe he got any money at all
epic fail
Although I 100% agree it was uncomfortable and I personally would never subject my Child to whatever happened there I do genuinely believe his heart is in the right place. Unfortunately the issues he claims his product is a solution for are ,in part or completely, outdated , unnecessary and/or misguided. If his product was what I thought it was going to be, even though it still would have not been a viable business, I was stoked. I myself had Dyscalculia, in my day there wasn't a name for it but fortunately now as a recognized disorder changes and accommodations were required via ADA . Back then however I did not have a safe, respectful learning environment. I was chastised by students and teachers alike to the point I stopped asking for help. It had such a profound effect on my education I dropped out my sophomore year because I just couldn't take it. I have since went back, graduated and am a 4 times Dean's list recipient with a double BAS. So having someone care about a safe, respectful learning environment sounds amazing. No one deserves to go through what I did. But this guy for whatever reason seems to think dumbing down things and giving children weapons will have some sort of impact and it just won't. Parents duties are to legislate their and their children's morality, not this guy nor school period. He has put himself as this martyr that is not needed and I'm very confused why. He does all the songs himself?...so is it a video tape or a sound track? Schitt I'm still not exactly sure what he was selling if anything. An idea? But I don't think that's how that works...but im no expert.
A singing Mr. Miagi? for kids... lol LITERALLY Karate kids...
"It's good shit mate" is one of the best answers on shark tank ever
Yeah I love the candor lol. And from most people it would sound like blowing smoke, but coming from the farmer fellow, you can tell he absolutely means it and that he'd have high standards for practical commodities lol
The first guy needs to put it on CZcams, get that ad money
Yup! That's probably the best way he's going to make real $$$ with this!

I get the feeling that so many people go to shark tank, not for an investment partner, but because they're upside down and need a way out.
I have invented a straight banana no sales value it at 10) million - UK we have some who are worse like I spent a year of my time, I have a big ego, it doesnt sell has no benefit I want some money .. my nan likes it ..Aus Sharks are at least polite in UK Peter Jones just gets angry - are you mad waste my time you are fired. etc Peter you havent employed him.. I have still fired him .. byeee
@@barnabydinosaurroadsafetyp3457 anything UK is inferior, Australia is like the cool/interesting/fun/notstuckup version of UK..
@@helpabrothawithasubisaiah5316 this I why I prefer AUS TV compared to UK TV even though I’m from the UK lmao
@idk
I get what you’re saying. TV varies quite a bit and it’s interesting.
I’m American and I’m not a fan of most television here because of the editing and aggression. It all feels exaggerated and fake to me.
The UK can give a snobby vibe, but I always find it quite calm with some shows (The Great British Bake Off). The show “Kitchen Nightmares,” or whatever, with Gordon Ramsay in the American version is much different than the UK version and I like the UK one more.
Now, for Australia, it is even better imo than the American and UK versions of Shark Tank/Dragon’s Den (I’ve never watched any other Australian TV that I know of).
It’s kinda interesting to see how different television is in different areas. Genuinely gives a bit of an idea about the culture.
@@helpabrothawithasubisaiah5316 As an American, I agree with your assessment. Aus TV is so pleasant to watch. 😂
There were so many problems with that first pitch
He said 18 months to 18 years
No teenager would ever pay attention in that class
Secondly, he spent 800,000 dollars on a website, a song, and a plastic stick
Finally,
IKI SAYS GUITAR
Imagine a bunch of teenagers zooming around with cut up pool noodles like it's the hot new trend
Its almost a cult
Wasn't this an exercise trend about 10 years ago? Maybe something beachbody put out or maybe zumba? Plus this guy spent all that money on his hobby. He wanted to be a singer, martial artist, TV star.
Not true... when I was 18 I'd probably smoke a bowl and go there to laugh my head off.
Come to think of it, yeah that's not so much paying attention as much as it is going to see an adult man make a complete ass of himself lmao.
His execution is bad. As a PE teacher, I think it's because he didn't study a lot of theories about how kids learn, how to teach and about physical education itself. He says he is a qualified teacher but I can't really assume the level of education he got for that or what kind of knowledge he actually has because I don't live in Australia and I don't know how physical education is studied there. Where I live we (read: we the physical education teachers from the whole country) follow mostly theories from the US and Europe which can be very different from each other and my education was focused on working with kids in schools. The kind of work I personally do would seem really weird for someone who only knows PE classes from the american educational system for example. Regulations on what must be teached in schools can be really reallly different from one country to another. That being said the idea itself could be good as a business. A program that considers the different phases of development of a child from 18 months to 18 years old, with adequate ways of teaching each group would be really interesting but would require a team of really qualified teachers studying different theories, designing and testing lessons for a long time. And it would probably be more about creating guidelines than writing specific song. There's a group of researchers from my country who did create something like that but not as nearly as detailed and it is quite a big reference for a lot of teachers. It theorizes about a few issues and describes guidelines for what's more appropriate when teaching each category of the physical education modalities to each age group. If a group could actually come up with something like that and be successful in capitalizing it they could make good money. Regarding his method I got excited in the very beginning that it could be something interesting to look into but it really was not.
"It's good shit, mate." XD
🤣 That alone would have gotten my investment!

Creepy vibes from him.
nah he’s probably a good guy
Seems like a good guy at heart, but misguided. Definitely creepy vibes.
Steve is magic when he's passionate about a product and the people ❤️👍
Man, that 2nd guy. he looked crushed by the end.
Yeah, I suspect they finally ruptured his cognitive dissonance and he suddenly realised that expansion into America, where phone service hit the all you can eat model years before Australia, is not going to swell his coffers - or even let him break even on his investment. Sadly it was 450k wasted, as the company has made no noise since 2015, when it went out with a whimper.
One of the worst cases I've seen of someone being so blinkered about their creative idea, they don't really dig as deep into the logistics and analytics as they should. He probably spent five years building it, only to find subscription models had moved on.
Technology is a fast moving game and diversification or the ability to diversify is an immediate need as soon as you launch any tech related company, so that you can protect your capital from any bubbles bursting, as so clearly happened in this case, even if he hadn't realised that prior to appearing on Shark Tank.
I do feel sorry for him, but you gotta be flexible and with 500k invested and no sales, you're about as entrenched and inflexible as can be. Poor bastard.
Really hope Ampan gets some traction, the world needs what John has to offer!
Absolutely brilliant! Why use viable resources for a crap products when we can use waste product to increase the quality of "crap products" (plyboard, corkboard, etc).
That's one of the more important products I've seen

John the farmer is amazing and he is changing the world in a great way, anything to save a tree and provide a wood like product is amazing! 🕊❤🙏🏼
Yeah, if what they said is true, or at least close to true, they have great product. But like sharks said, they really need to market it to construction people first, get someone to do something with it. I mean it seems like it could be used to build other stuff too.

I LOVE how tense the room got when the first guy was like, “Yeah, I’m a fairly… experienced martial arts instructor.” It was like they were afraid he’d throw a punch or something if they kept questioning him. Dying, lmao.
I didn’t see anyone budge
"I have two 30 month olds". They're two and a half, Steve.
I wonder what has half the syllables, "I have two two and a half year olds" or "I have two thirty month olds".
@@TheGauges420 "my kids are two"
@@kmdewhurst that's untruthful though. The average 2½ year old will be further along learning all the essentials than a 2 year old. How about this instead, let people describe the age of their children how THEY want, and you describe your children's ages how YOU want, then we can all just get along. Why do you care if he says he has 2 30mo olds as opposed to 2 2½ year olds? I think thats one of those things that literally does not matter in any way shape or form.
@@TheGauges420 for someone who says it doesn't matter, you're certainly taking a side. It's accurate to say they're two. It's precise to say 2.5. It's a bit arrogant to think people (especially strangers) will be invested enough in your kids to want to know their EXACT age. After 2 years, whole numbers please. But you're right that it's not a big deal.
As a parent myself, I stopped using months after my son turned 24 months old. Anything after that it was just weird. That being said, everyone is welcome to use whatever terminology they choose for their children’s ages. To each their own.
What did you spent 800 thousand dollars on? " making the learing videos."
Me: 👀 what!?
Hes counting his time spent at $30,000 per hour, he believes his time is worth that
Big difference I noticed between the American version and Australian version is that the Americans seem more willing to take risks and help BUILD companies and the Australians just like the companies to be ready to invest in already without having to build up the company as much.
And the Australians are a lot nicer
Probably because it’s a much smaller market. A lot less people in Australia. Also maybe they have less money to risk
Man, the only thing Ampan was missing was “Yeah, 10-15 buildings so far have used Ampan in their construction process.” So close, but just not quite there yet. We NEED this to come out.

Who knew that John fella has a voice. I've seen him in multiple clips, but never heard him speak until now.
That Subo bottle is a fantastic idea!!
if that phone app records and categorizes individual calls, texts, etc... I WOULD PAY FOR THAT! I spend 20 hours a month transcribing every call, email, and text for my contact log as a teacher.
there r loads of free apps which can do that 🤦
I wish they market a sport version with nice colors for adults! It would be a life changer during lunch time!
21:57 "Shark germs". Hahahaha I love Steve and his jokes/expressions. 🤣🤣🤣
I’m binge watching all these
Andrew is such a great guy.
One of the things that is also a big difference from the American version that I've seen is them trying to say 'Take my deal before listening to the others or I'm taking it away' which I've heard happen a couple times while watching the American version.
Right? Except they never actually back out when the person starts talking to another shark 😂 So I feel like it's either just a bluff to pressure the person into accepting _their_ deal or a test. That is, they're trying to ensure that this person is not going to succumb to pressure and make a bad business move out of desperation -- they're going to fight for the best deal for their business even if it's at a risk.
If they've made a water resistant particle board it's worth so much. Wood particle board it's a disaster with even a slight bit of moisture
Given it's resin and rice straw it's pretty water resistant.
Truly, a time lapse of the rice board and wood particle board side by side dealing with water would be a great first step in getting builders on board with using it.
Be nervous with a new entrepreneur who has never failed
This guy is a complete dreamer
I would feel confining and uncomfortable if I was in his program
Nice of them to give way for steve.
Some people go into the Shark Tank needing help with sales thinking the sharks will invest and help them sell. The only reason these sharks ever invest is when they can dump some money in and maybe make a phone call to hook up an order with a contact they already know. This entire panel isn't interested in working for their investment.
You see , Steve was the one to say hello first!!

Why is it when one shark goes in
all the other sharks are like: "Whoa, wait listen to what we have to say before you accept!!"
Then when the person waits to hear their offers they all proceed to go out. 🤣
Everyone jokes about Barbara always being out but I've seen at least 50 of these pitches and I've literally never seen Naomi invest a single time. I've seen her offer a worse deal than someone else to ensure she doesn't get the deal, but I've legit never seen her make a single deal. Anyone know how many deals she's actually made?
Within the first few videos I came across, I saw her pitch quite a few times and actually be the one chosen more often than not those times.

This isnt a charity show
13:13 Did this guy really just say he was going to get 230 million customers? From WHERE exactly... This app undoubtedly applies to a small margin of people (I don't exactly know who, travelling businessmen?) and you have to multiply that small percentage to the overall population, THEN multiply that number by maybe 10% because not EVERYONE who it applies to would use it... I know Australia isn't as big as the US, and 230 million is nearly the population of the US...
This guy is a lunatic. The app AT BEST applies to 230,000,000 x 0.03 x 0.1 = 1,150,000 people (that's assuming that roughly 3% of the population have jobs which would require this, which is a generous estimation, I think)

This should be retitled as Deals that Confuse Sharks
Also, Id like to add that I enjoy this Australian version of Shark Tank FAR MORE than the American version! I am an American too. The American show's sharks are so full if themselves and make it seem like they would be giving the entrepreneurs a gift if they chose the sharks deal, when in fact each offer is a purchase. They are all just so shady in their own ways. At least Kevin O'Leary is open about it. It doesnt make it much easier to swallow though! Many times they wont even allow the people to listen to other sharks' offers before making a decision. Thats greedy and just plain gross in my opinion.
To be honest I’m also American but the American shark tank never interested me but this one did for some reason
Same, I watched any of these show clips for the first time about three days ago and I already despise the American show and the UK one as well. Aus cast is at least sincere and helpful, even if the editing does still sensationalize things a bit. The UK and US shows are just unwatchably obnoxious
The kids cup is amazing I hope you're investment goes well with that one. Who doesn't love a product like that it's great for your kids saves you time cuz cleaning can take allot of time out your day when you have kids. Ampan is an interesting concept, but it probably faces major hurdles towards being an industry-accepted composite building material. At least for construction, not sure about stuff like furniture manufacturing.
Yeah I imagine the materials safety standards for structural engineering are kinda hardcore. It'd need to be formally tested for how it holds up to all sorts of forces. And I think it'd perform well, but that's some serious lab fees etc to deal with.
