'not a dry eye in the house' perfectly apt way of describing the situation at mine when I found out he'd passed. His songs have meant so much to me over the past 27 years, I will continue to listen to them for decades to come.
Soooooo sad, most grew up with songs,
Tonight will be “ meat loaf “ music… sure lots of tears too. Beautiful song
@@lcfc777 Quite, bit airy fairy for a grown man to admit but I've already had a good cry, also kind of sad to say it feels like a family member has passed, but that's how I feel.
I've been a Meat Loaf fan since I got Bat Out of Hell II when I was 11 (I'm 39 now). I was just getting ready for bed when I saw that he died. I'm not getting any sleep tonight as I've been listening to my albums and CZcams videos, while trying to hold back the tears.
Him and Jim Steinman are hands down my favorite singer/songwriter combo. Those two were so perfect for each other.
My thoughts exactly. This is my favourite song of his. RIP Meat Loaf.
@@S4INTW4RRIOR you an me both I grew up with his music and each song was personal to me also.
He didnt just sing his songs he felt them and performed them. He was an entertainer. The world has lost a legend!!
100% agree
And to Jim S who wrote most of his songs!
Centuries will pass, and his songs will still be remembered.
Could not have said it any better myself you are spot on
Well said mate 👏 👍
Today we lost a legend, and there's not a dry eye in the house. Rest Easy, Marvin Lee Aday aka Meatloaf. ❤️❤️
very sad I've been listening to it since I was a child in Brazil, where few people knew meat loaf. the best band i've ever heard. beautiful lyrics and beautiful arrangements 😭😭😭😭 very sad, my kids in brazil also learned to listen to mest loaf, great loss 😭
This song hits hard today.
RIP Meat Loaf. Thank you for the memories and the music
100
Always Love You Meat, Thank you for all the memories ❤❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Such a performer every song was like a movie will be sadly missed but what a legacy to leave behind 😢
Perfect description. I was struck by his performance at 14, in 1978. The man could emote; he told stories with both the songs and way he sang them. Damn.
great legacy and music that wont be frgotten
& you'll never find any one that was as passionate & put 150% in every song!
Jamie Hill 44 ok jamie
Meatloaf was a true artist.
What makes Meat Loaf amazing is that he if he ever sang 3 blind mice he would sing it with 100% commitment and I'd buy tickets.
Your comment made me laugh. I totally agree. I would love him to use his booming voice to sing me Happy Birthday at my 49th Birthday on 5th June 2021 or even better my Dad's 80th on 27th May 2021 although it would be more for my enjoyment as he's DEFINITELY not a Meat Loaf fan as he listens to OLD Country And Western music eg Boxcar Willy.😂😂🎸🎂
unfair to be a great
uh, whats wrong with 3 blind mice eh?
That is definitely one song we need to hear ...
@@richvanne7334 nothing as far as they can see
RIP Meatloaf ......you were legendary.... and will be missed......
Millions of lost souls are crying out into the night, all desperate for it not to be so. You took our hearts and souls and gave us a home in your music. Now the last curtian has come down, but your encoure will be imortal and you live on in our hearts forever and future generations to come. Sleep Sweet Meat, Sleep Sweet.
Excellent words Dude, many hearts are mourning...R.I.P.

Same Here I'm writing this with tears in my eyes. Thank You for the memories RIP Meat🙏💔😢♥️
Me too it so sad RIP Meat Loaf King of rock and roll🥺
How in the hell does anyone dislike this guy's music . I mean Damm I know he is not for everyone different taste and all but Damm he is by far one of the greatest rock singers of all time he's up there with the best of them better than most .
Is he dead or is is just a rumour
He is one of my favorites
Meat loaf has never been given the true acknowledgment he deserves. The music industry almost disclaims him, despite having achieved more than most artists ever will. True legend!
@@niamhgillvarry1569 I get feeds from him on fb, so I think he lives!
I no he's amazing I just got listening to meatloaf few months ago the guys a legend amazing voice lol x
It has to be said that Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf together made what we hear. Steinman wrote songs like Air Supplies Making love out of nothing at all, Bonnie Tyler's total eclipse of the heart, and Celine Dion's all coming back to me now. He has a flare for long intros and choral style music. Thank goodness for us they met one another. I don't know where I would have been without Bat out of Hell and even now that it's no longer the 70's, he still can take my heart in his performances and the lyrics and power also give me strength when it's hard to find it on my own.
All coming back to me now was written for Pandora Box. listen to them they were also produced by Jim Those women have fantastic voices. Patsy tours with meatloaf from pandoras box
It was good that Jim was the voice in Bonny Tyler's total eclipse of the heart. He was the 'turn around..bright eyes.' singer. They really made that song what it was.
@@mydogatemydentures5190 fans of Jim steinman and meatloaf knows that 🤣😜
@@juliefairhurst6107 Hi Julie I've always said the Pandora,s Box version was first and best.
I think I first heard it on the James Whale Radio Show which was in fact a late night TVshow

Rest In Peace Meatloaf (Michael Lee Aday)
You were definitely one of the greats. Thank you for all the awesome music.

A very poignant song given the sad passing of this legend. R.I.P Meat 😢
What an amazing voice and in my opinion a very handsome man ! Rest in peace Meat!
A Very handsome man indeed, I think his wife was a very lucky lady
@@BillandMiaandSkipper he didn't have a wife.
In 2000, my heart was broken so badly I almost died. Everything went to Hel, my career, home gone, friends turning away, unable to see me as I now was. This mans Music kept me alive for over a year. When it got too bad to deal with, when the revolver and the easy out were too near, the music pulled me through til I found my way onto my feet again. Thank you, Meatloaf, I'll always owe you a debt. My old Life may be gone but it's never forgotten as long as the music plays.
Thank god for meatloaf and his music for pulling you through your life!! Gods reasing through his music to save yournlife!! Got to that god and the music that helped you!! God bless you for making it through!!!!
Anita Ramsey Amen!
I feel you mate. My ex wife didn't want to help me through a difficult time of my life, a psychological past that warped my perceptions that I thought were ok, but in fact not. I picked myself up, got help and I'm becoming a better man. I lost my daughter to my ex-wife but one day I'll show my little girl her dad is better and never stopped loving her.
Meatloaf has a way of putting things onto perspective and holding you together
Glad to see you made it through and things have gotten better for you.
I hope you're doing well now
One of his most underrated and truly most beautiful songs ❤️
Brings a lump to my throat and tear to my eye. I wish I had that love...
I absolutely agree! I 've never heard this before and it's awesome! I had tears!
This is perfection!! Listening in 2021. Not a good start to a new year. But a great song to listen to. 💕💕
Honestly the whole Welcome to the Neighborhood album was underrated.
@@rozinski4 As a VERY late fan of Meat Loaf who only got into him when he released I'd Do Anything For Love (I'm now 48 years old for flips sake) I totally agree. Every song on Welcome To The Neighbour and even the retro design of the album's artwork are. BRILLIANT🎸😢
Just sitting here with tears in my eyes. RIP Meatloaf. Your music lives on in me and all your friends, family and fans.
Rest in peace Meat Loaf another great musician taken too soon 😢 no more pain and suffering you fought so hard through many health Obstacles you are one of the greatest 😪 on earth again lived a hellish life and taken to soon 😪

I think the greatest question when I was about in 4th grade was : he’d doing anything for love but he won’t do what?
"Not a dry eye in the house. After last curtain comes down. Listen and you'll hear the sound. Yea the sound of our breaking. Not a smile left on my face. The endings just too sad to take and there's not a dry eye, not a dry eye in house."

when you read all these tributes to Meat Loaf, you realize how important he is to people artistically-emotionally. . . go in beauty, Meat. . . we love you. . .
I love him :) he means so much to me. I literally would cry if I met this man
What goes with Meat Loaf? Beautiful music. Pure talent!!
A great man, may he rest in peace, his music got me through high school. life is a lemon was my anthem at 15. I'm sad he's gone but my heart is glad for his music. ❤️
Goodbye big man, thank you for the music 💔
Meatloaf, We Fans will never let your music die! RIP
Never have I come across a singer who puts more feeling into the songs he sings! So much emotion! Big love and respect to Meatloaf! Love him!
You should see him live. Jeeesus! My 2nd time of seeing him in the 90's i was a teenager then. (old ass me) he swigged 3 quarters of a bottle of wine in one and then gestured for the audience to catch the bottle and we thought he was joking and then he threw the bottle and it's remaining contents into the crowd, I managed to get to it and touch it but couldn't properly grab it, i had just had a major op...and it was a 100% glass bottle. The days before the PC brigade were awesome.
I am crying my eyes out today.
God Speed Meatloaf.
Rest in paradise! You are and will always be one of the most legendary musicians that ever lived! ❤️
Been listening to this man for almost 30 years. He got me through a lot of hard times, he always seemed to know what I was going through. He was definitely one of a kind and you will be missed. Thank you for all the years of great music.
Me Too ( his music got me thru )
Chin up Robin. Love from Scotland 🏴 💗
Absolutely
today the world lost a legend RIP Meatloaf
R.I.P. To the greatest, most soulful, epic and beautiful man ever to grace the world with his music. Never has a rock’n’roll star shone so proudly or voluptuously. He may be gone, but his melodic genius will be ingrained in our hearts forever. ✨❤️
There are very few singers who show as much passion in their vocals as Meatloaf did.
RIP you mighty man.
The curtain closed today, Our eyes will forever weep with your loss.
Lying here with tears in my eyes from the memories of your music from my childhood to present, you are and will always be a legend 🙏🙏🙏

That voice... I still get shivers when I hear him singing, even after so long spent listening to him.
The most Influential person in music, the Great Meat Loaf has a unique clear operatic rock vocal voice that Is so unmatched, with the subtle bluesy riff echoing through the song.
Truly a significant recording on this auspicious day. RIP Meat Loaf. I will never see or hear your like again.
Definitely isn't a dry eye in the house, r.i.p. you great man, never had a singer impact my life more than you😔
RIP. Meatloaf's songs brought joy to me as a kid and adult. His death really has hit me harder than any other musician besides my dad and to me that says a lot. Always a smile when listening. It breaks my heart we lost such a great person.

Brings back memories of my teenage years good and bad when things seemed easier and much happier and people more contented with who they were and what they had
Pure unadulterated class and musical genius I truly think everyone should listen to this this respect meat loaf
RIP Meatloaf and thanks for the Music 🎶🥲
This Gentleman Mr Aday Meatloaf has helped me with depression with his Amazing voice and songs. Thanks also to Jim steinman. You Mr Aday are my hero. THE VOICE. get well soon meatloaf I know you are in a lot of pain. The world owes you for the voice of a thousand Angel's.
I've fallen in love and lost love in my life. Meatloaf has been my inner voice/souls inspiration through the love and heartache every breath I've taken. We're so blessed that he and Steinman found each other. Imagine life without them...
PS: I spent Highschool (graduated in 82. I'm now 52 yrs old) driving a 76 Camaro with a kickass Pioneer sound system. Meatloaf was always played full blast. It's the only way I could due his music the justice it deserved/demanded. Every song isn't just "sung", he puts everything he has into every verse. Again, we're so fortunate that he and Steinman found each other! A perfect combination.
+Bruce Adams I'm amazed at some of Meat Loaf's music I've been finding here. So many memories and he puts so much into everything. I appreciated hearing your story :)
Bruce Adams
Another person here who was born in the year he really broke through, with Paradise, and like a true 'Meat Loaf kid' I keep coming back to him. The first concert I ever went to, aged 12, was a Meat Loaf concert. That man has inspired me through my writing. Listening to his songs, magic comes from my fingers, to the extent that I have finally picked up the courage to see a publisher. And guess what? I'm being published! Thank you Meat Loaf, for spreading inspiration through your beautiful music!!
Wish I had gone to one of his concerns, I am a big fan of his love every song even though I was born in the 90s the 70s and 80s were cool decades for much but he was something really special like David bowie
Rip meat loaf you left us awesome music
R.I.P meat loaf your a shining star in the bright sky now.
Best male singer ever.
Meatloaf was my gateway into hard rock and metal, he was my first concert (and second I think) but like with most things I'd moved on and hadn't really listened to much of his stuff in years. Then about a month ago for no real reason I dropped Bat 1 on the turntable and I'd just forgotten how amazing and unique he was and I don't think a day has gone by since that I haven't listened to something from him.
So sorry buddy, I lost there for a while, but it won't happen again. RIP
i'm broken. Can't believe he's gone.
get used to it.
Such sad news of one of our greatest music artist's. Definitely not a dry eye in this house.
I am speechless. This song is absolute perfection. The chorus is just so beautiful. Hos vocals on it are outstanding. This song really does live rent free in my head. I am playing it 5 or 6 times a day. My favourite song of his. I think it maybe the best song made ever.period .
The feeling he puts in every song is amazing, I love his voice, and his music is fantastic. He's such a great artist.
When I first heard Meat Loafs voice in my bedroom playing on the radio 1975 I was hooked. Bought his albums watched his movies blessed to see him play live… Rest in Eternal paradise Meat 🙏🏻💙💙💙
Meat and Jim are together again in Rock & Roll Heaven. Separately, each were great, but together they made history and the best music the world will ever know. Gen. George Patton once said, "Let us not mourn the loss of these men, but thank God they were born!
My heart is crushed 😭💔😭💔💔 really enjoyed this man's career . I put meat loaf up there with People like Elvis Presley , Michael Jackson, and Great Artist. Elvis is the King of Rock and Roll, Michael Jackson is king of pop, and Meat loaf should be the King of Rock opera. Thank you for everything.
Love this song! What I like the most about his music is the emotion he puts into it! Not the soulless, faceless music of today. He has a terrific voice!!!
Like so many of my generation, I grew up on his music. An amazing musician whose music will live on as classics of R&R. Go and Rest in Peace! I'm sure you'll be making great music up in heaven.
What can I say but Meatloaf thank you for all your music. You will be missed dearly. Please R.I.P.❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
Rest in peace Meat Loaf. You'll always be remembered.
I've listened to Meatloaf's performances since the 1970's. What a class act!

I fell in love with Meatloaf in '77 with Bat Out Of Hell.....
My favorite what a beautiful voice this man has

Not a dry eye here tonight in Africa. One of so few sane voices in this insane world.
The man was a legend. Throughout the course of my life I have always had a meat loaf song to help me through. I remember my first ever job as a 13 year old washing dishes in a restaurant… we had a tape deck in the kitchen and the only cassette we had was meat loaf. He was on all day every day and I never got sick of him. Other songs he done have been at crucial points in my life but I will not bore any of you guys with the rest of the stories. My point is that the man was a complete legend and has helped a lot of people from all over the world through a lot of shit. Rest easy Meat, we all miss you ❤️

My uncle's birthday was yesterday, he passed away a few years ago and he was like my best friend. About a month before he passed away a good friend of his named Joel passed away and he listened to this song every day after. I'm glad I had the nerve to sit and listen to it again, the memories briefly come flooding back and it feels good to remember him.
RIP Meat Loaf. Thanks for all the music.
I haven't sung this song for a few years, I've loved listening seeing and playing all of his songs for so long now and I still cant believe he is gone, but to coin a fraise he will never be forgotten, what a performer and a true star...I shall be singing this one with a tear in my eye...RIP mate..
