All Eyes on Paris with Mariafe Artacho del Solar

On this weeks show we have an absolute favourite of mine. Yes, she’s an Aussie and I just love saying her name… Mariafe Artacho Del Solar…
Mariafe was born in Peru in South America and moved with her beauriful mother to Sydney, Australia when she was just 11 yrs old.
Inspired by the beach game, she starting playing with adults and getting experience from an incredibly young age on the sands of Manly Beach.
Now as a 30yr old 2 time Olympian, Entrepreneur, Fashionista, animal lover and inspirational role model to young athletes around the world, she’s living in Brisbane with husband Jack as she prepares for …“One better than Silver”… with her beach volleyball partner Taliqua Clancy
Together for over 6 yrs on the sand, they took home Silver in Tokyo, they were world championship bronze medallists in 2019
And they are 2 x Comm Games Silver medallists
As of February 2024, Mariafe has played in 83 events on the WT, winning 9 Gold, 5 Silvers and 9 bronze medals.
Currently sitting in 7th on the provisional Olympic ranking, they have yet to play all the events needed to qualify, but hope to push their ranking up over the next 6 months.
At 5’9” or 175cm she is a force to be reckoned with at the net and one of the most consistent players when it comes to successfully transitioning after her incredible defensive plays.
