  • By request here is a short tour of my Telecaster family. Playing straight in to a Princeton Reverb with the exact same settings for all guitars. The strings were either D’Addario 11-50 round wound or 12-54 round wound. Both sets have plain G strings. All guitars were tuned to E standard except for the little one at the end.

Tim there seems to be a preference towards Nocasters among your Teles. I think we might all enjoy another video of you presenting your experience with your guitars, how you choose through the details and feel of them, what works for you, how you hear them etc.

It's surprising how much the TK Smith CC pickup compresses the sound. Much moreso than the Lollar CC. Love the sound of that 2015 Road Worn tele but, to my ears, your 2001 Nocaster with the Lollar CC is my fave. Very expressive. Thanks for the run-down of your axes Tim. Good fun! :)

Wow! A tele with a CC, ok… but a tele with a rhythm chief! Never thought I'd see that! Remarkable how much it still sounds like a tele! As do all of them, regardless of subtle though significant differences. One of the big take-aways is, I think, "if you have a Road Worn" [or Vintera, or…] and you like the neck you're doing fine, so stop thinking about the Custom Shop you've seen the other day and go back to woodshedding" 😉

it turns out that it's always the fingers and those fingers make the sound you hear in the video sound very similar, but
    you can feel the nuances.
