  • Another day, more broken tools.
    No into or final note in this video, sadly the first machine and last where a no go, so I didn't include them.
    Thanks, everyone, for who enjoys watching my videos and is now following me. It means the word to me. Everyone is asking for these longer full videos, so they requested.
    A breakdown on costs of these repairs.
    The milwaukee DD 2-160 XE cost 15 euro.
    The festool CT MINI cosy 70 euro.
    The Bostitch RC-10 C110 turned out to also have a faulty electronic pressure switch, so it would not turn off. So it's still ongoing.
    The spectra laser level was also 15 euro.
    The Makita DSS611 Saw was 62 euro.

    Tell the owner of the Bostitch compressor to not store it upright if it will freeze. Saw the same issue due to freezing. Condensate in the tank settles to this spot if stored upright, freezes and bursts that fitting. Nice repair video.

    I just wish I could have justified the extra cost and got brushless tools. The Ozito 18v brushless tools cost around AUD$100 more than the brushed counterpart. Difficult to justify when an 18v 165mm circular saw with brushes is AUD$98 and the brushless AUD$179. Plus I don't use the tools that much; just DIY stuff around the house.

    As someone who owns a lot of Festool tools some are outstanding like the Routers & Drills, others definitely do not justify the price like the seriously underpowered 110v TS55REQ & the plastic used on the dust extractors is the shittiest flimsiest cheapest crap they could possibly have used. The Plastic used for McDonalds happy meal toys is of far superior quality.
    The front panel breaks constantly removing 110v plugs & the hose garage plastic is brittle as anything also.
    😢The Fein extractors are much better quality.

      I've also been using DeWalt for a long time myself. I bought my first one - a 9.6v NiCd drill when I was 16(man I thought I was so cool back then!😀). Well I'm now 46 and I'm still using DeWalt tools aside from a few PorterCable tools(older - when they were more top of the line), Bosch (grinder & hammer drill). I use Bostich for pneumatic air nailguns too. I think the fact of having Stanley Black & Decker Tools(SBD) as the parent company of DeWalt, Bostich & all of the other brands brings a little more to the table then the Chinese owned company TTI who own Milwaukee, Ridgid & Ryobi, etc may have🤔. Idk, just my opinion.🤷‍♂️ Plus the fact that DeWalt has 60v flexvolt that are backwards compatible w\ their reg 20v XR line. Nowadays, there's so much back & forth competition between all these co's that it doesn't really matter which one you pick. They all have many good tools to choose from, mostly all with reasonably comparable prices. Unless it's one or 2 specific specialized tools(HVAC, plumbing, mechanic, etc) that you need, just go with the battery system tools that you are invested into already. The competition between the top 3 companies is crazy & they just keep *trying* to better each other daily. The (Chevron owned) Flex brand tools are really gaining weight and traction in the field too, they're 24v & are very powerful tools, especially w\ the new pouch cel batts(Both Dewalt & Milwaukee have pouch cel batts now too). Go check out the @TorqueTestChannel on here to see all the many comparison vids they do weekly to get an idea on what you want to know. If I wasn't so invested in DeWalt I'd definitely consider Flex & Milwaukee. Anyways sorry for my rant, hope it helps you make a decision. 😀👍👌🛠️🔩🔧⚡🔋🔌⚠️🚧👨‍🔧

      Older Milwaukee are good but not recently made ones. Makita is mostly quality stuff. Dewalt too. Not sure you’d be any better going over to a different brand. I’m a Makita guy myself. All the other brands sold out to multi-national corporations but Makita is still the same company as always as far as I know. Seems like they make more reliable tools overall too. You can always use battery adapters and buy the tool you need rather than switching over to a different brand as well. Just food for thought.

    Interesting videos, however 5Amp fuse would be better suited as it would take 1150watts, 13Amp fuse too high as it would take up to almost 3Kw before it blew

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  Před 7 měsíci

      A 5amp fuse would blow the second you pull the trigger. Don't forget the startup torque needed to get the blade spinning

      @@deandohertygreaser Good point, hadn't thought about that, apparantly it draws 8.8Amps on start up so you're absolutely correct 13Amp fuse is the correct choice.

    800w / 240v = 3.3A so that 3A fuse probably worked for a while but obviously over its rating. a 5A minimum needed there

      Your forgetting start up. It will draw a lot of amps on start up

    • @davidworsley7969

      My guess is that the original fuse blew, was replaced with the 3 amp which blew on start up so concluded an internal fault.@@deandohertygreaser

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  Před 8 měsíci

      The quality of the internal parts like the controlers, switch and bearings are simply very cheap. Especisly for the price of the tool.
      They give the most trouble of any modern tool and they simply last no time at all. They are OK in the states were you get a 5 year warranty, but not here.

    That Drill has 800W, meaning a slow Blow 3A Fuse could have been the appropriate factory choice there (startup- & load-current spikes considered)! By all means: 13A - Are You Serious?! This thing would catch fire in someone’s Hands without the fuse blowing! Honestly, that’s something any electrical engineer would call irresponsible… Please just think again next time you change the rating on any fuse.
