This Mushroom Shawarma is so delicious! I love the mix of spices and herbs in it, it really gives it a great flavor. The Friday Night Feast is my favorite Jamie Oliver food series - each recipe is always so delicious and easy to make.
I love the recipe. I just bought 1 kg of oyster mushrooms and I invariably fry them, like vegetarian fried chicken. I am trying this for this weekend's brunch. I will get the other ingredients ready. Then l will be freely "onomatope-ing" like our chef. Thank you loads Chef Jamie. ❤❤

I want to requestJamie do a video on how to increase recipes without diluting flavor. I have a family of 10 and as my kids hit the teen years I find my cooking game lacking. Any tips for cooking for the masses in terms of cookware etc. I find doubling recipes doesn't always get me as flavorful results as using the original as-is. Am I missing something?
I absolutely LOVE this recipe as I'm in love with mushrooms. Here in Czech Republic we have the tradition of going to the woods and search for wild mushrooms. Then at home we turn them into a mushroom soup, a mushroom sauce, fried mushrooms or mushrooms with eggs that we then put on a thick slice of sourdough bread or a potato pancake.... That mushroom shawarma is a totally new way for me to prepare mushrooms.... But Jamie - Where the heck am I supposed to get all those fancy ingredients.... Pomegranate melassa? I can barely get pomegranate in our supermarkets.... And all those fancy spices I've never heard of.... A regular person simply can't prepare this at home.
Use honey instead of molasses, and simplify the spices if needed! ( Paprika, cumin and mint should be easy to find though. And preserved lemons can be homemade, that's lemons and salt). Give it a try with your wild mushroom, it will be fantastic!!
@@clairephilippoteaux9872 Thanx for the tips. I know there is usually a way to replace the fancy ingredients with more affordable ones... It's just really frustrating when cooks/chefs use all these fancy ingredients like they actually believe these ingredients are perfectly normal and everyone can buy them in their local supermarket. Here in Czech Republic I couldn't get half of the ingredients he regualry uses... or I can find them in our supermarkets but they are insanely expensive.
