Wasn't expecting to see these highlights, but one of the greatest matches in Paris
Haha, depends, there’s the French Open too... ;)
That 186 forehand , what tha ffffff.....
Both are at best in their twenties
@@simonlim8491 Like most players...
Amazing atmosphere. That's what Monfils at his best can do. What a player he could have been...

He has been top 20 throughout his career...Yes he could have won more, but I think he loves tennis and is satisfied with his outcome
Correction: what a player he was…
Where has this Monfils been in the past 10 years this version of him is quality
This was a brilliant match
Wow, one of the very few times I've actually seen a RF match where the crowd is cheering harder for the opposition
To be fair, this is in Paris. Monfils home crowd
Back when people could still shake hands

have you been watching any highlights? most of the players i've seen are shaking hands and patting each other on the backs at the end of matches.
Monfils' serve was so much better back then, now it seems like his first serve is less efficient and he's making much more double faults
Not that confident and espcially not fit enough banging svitolina all day long.

The more you watch tennis highlights, the more epic Federer's chokes you know )
Wow what a great match played by Monfils - he was all business here! Federer with some really uncharacteristic unforced errors as well...but all credit to Monfils, and even more special for him winning at Paris
Fantastic match! Thanks very much for these extended highlights.
Just passing through on my journey to watch every Federer match.
Most people forget the other semi that year where Llodra choked vs Söderling. Also had MPs
prime monfils right here. just look at his chiseled biceps

What a fcking animal he was . That 186 forehand lmao
Unbelievable game, my two favourite players
Awesome match!! Love Mon Filis!!!
the match that made me think Monfils might amount to something (as in one of the all time greats)
given his physical abilities and excellent junior grand slam record (won 3, second only to Edberg... even the likes of Federer, Roddick, Murray only won 1 each)
but he's just too passive and too laid back to achieve more... even as a top 10 player, his record is not particularly memorable
people talk about wasted talents like Nalbandian, Gasquet, Dimitrov... but I think Monfils is the biggest of them all
People say kyrgios is the biggest wasted talent but hell no, you are absolutely right. Monfils is the biggest wasted talent in the history. His skills and athleticism were out of this world. To bad he doesnt have a mentality like nadal or djokovic, man imagine. . . . .
Como deve ser bom ganhar um torneio da ATP em casa... imagino como deve ter ficado o Monfils.
Top talent vs top athleticism = crazy match
1:57 thank me later! What a beauty!!! 186 Km/h (115mph in old money)
WHAT AN EPIC BATTLE
Loved, Monfils playing here. I just pray that he plays every match this way. He was about the business of tennis here. Just love is fire and energy. He's also very, very easy on the eyes, no disrespect to his wife!
12:50 one of the most easy matchpoint ever. Easy forehand with open and empty court and Rf missed it😱

Yeah he could’ve won there
Federer really had so many chances in this match. Already the 1st set tiebreak he was many times just one easy shot away from a minibreak or to save the last setpoint...
Federer won many close matches throughout his career but he also lost relatively lots of tight matches, especially important ones. And at the moment they stick with us more than the close matches he won...
Fed hits some of the best forehands throughout the entire match but he cracks on match point. He's lost many matches due to forehand errors
@@YesSirPhil and that made him remembered most, he inspired and cracked his fan hearts always ^^ im both fed and nadal fan but only when watching Fed, my heart always bumping too hard @@ even when he win smoothly
Yes the 40-15
Impressive win for Monfils . Fed was in red hot form here
Federer and wasting MPs, no better love story.
Actually Federer has the same amount of matches when he saved match points (and won the match) and when he wasted them (and lost).
@Gerel Len And who are you again?
hahaha
@@masters.1000 thats actually very interesting. I guess Federer just has trouble finishing matches, but has an easier time when his opponent is finishing matches.
@Gerel Len that choker is one of the greatest players of all time
it was a good compettitive match the highlight magic monflis love his fast powerful FH vs the goat the master Federer
Monfils is just a all around athlete
Monfils as really cracking his forehand in those days 💪🏾
Wow those serves by Monfils...
Monfils has so much power that I thought he'd never lose a match! LMFAO 😀 i
Came after his victory against Baez
One of the first times Roger went down under pressure. First but far not last
The epic match! Titled like this, most cases are won by the champions. "Well done! A beautiful match" to the loser is a pattern. Monfils broke it!
Interesting stat Djokovic has never lost to monfils Federer has about 3 or 4 times
Interesting stat djokovic lost to David ferrer 5 times while fed never lost to him
@@AshishKumar-on2udfair do also Nadal has losing record against davydenko
We can do this for several combination tennis is also lot about matchups
@@jonathanterrett Puskovic has losing record against Sonego
@@AshishKumar-on2ud true like Serena was a bad matchup for sharapova Maria only beat her twice Roddick only beat Federer 3 times in 24 meetings
great game , Federer is a legend and Monfils one of the Best Skilled Tennis Players
Best 3 Game i ever watch :
1 - El Aynaoui Vs Roddick ( Australia Open )
2 - Del Potro Vs Federer ( US Open )
3 - Soderling Vs Nadal ( French Open )
Oh boy you don't watch much tennis, do you.
0:22 that kick serve was crazy!
That was a flat serve...
Everywhere on the Internet they say Monfils saved 5 match points, but I an see only 3. Do the higlights miss 2 match points ?
The net sponsor !! Am I the only one who has noticed ??
186 kmh forehand, wwwwwhat the fffffffock. Have we ever seen a faster forehand than that🤯
Better than 2008 WB final
Are you kidding ?
Team Federer here, but i have to say that sometimes Fed does whatever he can to lose matches!
11:18のサーブエグいな😓
5:45 It's Wawrinka no ?
BORAT at 6:52: " Well, Well, Well"
Was meinst du Jung...? Die Geschwindigkeit Messung....
Intense match, but not a great match. Roger missed so many easy shots and stroked poorly. Anyway Monfils deserves the win.
another choking day for federer nothing more
Ah, yes the 2010 Paris Masters. The last year in which it actually played like an indoor tournament. The court was lightning fast.
40-15 curse confirmed
Yeah, I noticed that as well. Roger needs to only get match points at 40-0 or 40-30 in the future.
Quand tu vois que Federer ne sue même pas un tout petit peu alors que Monfils est en sueur.. Fed, on dirait qu'il ne dépense pas de l'énergie en jouant😂
This is dramatic!
Who was waiting for monfils jump 😂😄
Corona??
it's 2010
Federer let a few match points even then. Lost to Marcos and berdych with match points and lost.
That's why we call him 'Mr 40:15'.

They both seem to be really uneasy, You could cut the heaviness in the air with a knife. Why? My guess is that it is really awkward for the players because the French crowd is obliged to root for one of theiir own, especially thei well-loved Monfils. On the other hand, they have an opportunity to see the great Federer and they want to see him at his best, not being beat down by Monfils. . I'm curious to see if they find a groove that works for the players and the French crowd-.....No, it ws awkward to the end and neitther played anywhere close to their best. Ce la vie.
Monfils has been unlucky, he deserves a slam
Brauchen viele Geduldigkeit Sie zum Fangen Jung...? Meinen Sie die Hummer....?
Hate this absurd viewer's angle.C'mon did they patent the angle for other tournaments so Paris has to stick with this? This is the reason why I hate Paris the most.
Also when Federer chokes the match automatically becomes an EPIC match, you could tell.
Nahm doch den Angeln & veesucht es....Oh, man ...Wie kann ich es gleichen ...? Meine Füssen & ohne Velo zum Übungen kann...
Good match. But not very good highlights
I simply don't see the point of including so many low-quality points on a video.
Two words, or numbers: 40-15
I can recollecting Wimbledon
Fe40r15er
Onkels haben Sie heute schon Fishen gefangen...? Was Hummer hier gibt...?
No masks, those days were much better...
Once a choker, always a choker 40-15
That choker is one of the greatest players of all time and there’s no overall goat
@Gerel Len In a higher level? Have they been smoking pot?
@Gerel Len I said ONE of the greatest not THE greatest learn to read. It’s a fact that Federer is ONE of the greatest tennis players ever
@Gerel Len one doesn’t mean top 2 only I mean Federer currently is top 3 so he is considered one of the greatest right now but lots of people. There is no goat anyway
@Gerel Len i never believed in the goat. Not overall goat. It was a media thing back when Sampras played and especially Federer because of money and marketing. There is no goat on all surfaces. Only on clay Nadal is goat, on hard courts (slower to medium ones) Djokovic is the goat, and on grass/faster hard courts it’s Sampras or Federer
I st view
16:40 "against the best player on the planet" How about Djokovic and Nadal??? The amount of sucking up the media provides to Federer is just out of this world. He has not been the best Tennis player on tour for at least a DECADE.
His record against NOLE and RAFA also is a losing one. So if you wanna say one of the GREATEST, please by all means.
But in 2020 "the best on the planet" is a just a LIE.
This was in 2010 when Federer was the best. Announcers did not know what the outcome of next 10 years would be. 😀
@@markcardinal7994 Rafa was the best at this time. He was world number 1 and had won the last 3 straight slams.
Sponsored by corona
the french players ! they can beat the number one, they can play number one rank, but only for one match ! they cannot win a tournament, and even less and grand slam ! the problem is in their head
