🔴 Starbucks Chocolate Cake Pop Copycat Recipe
For the Cake
1 box Chocolate Cake Mix amzn.to/3evoixG
2 tablespoons Chocolate Frosting amzn.to/3jZezAT
The Candy Coating
1 (12 oz) bag Dark Chocolate Candy Melts amzn.to/3p396N2
1 1/2 teaspoons flavorless oil
White Sprinkles amzn.to/3jPjk04
Extra Items Needed
Cake Pop Sticks amzn.to/2Zb7nKo
Styrofoam or Cake Pop Stand amzn.to/3m8ZXRU
1 ½ Tablespoon Ice Cream Scoop amzn.to/2SHTXlN
Prepare and bake the cake according to the package instructions and let it cool down to room temperature.
Cut out the edges and remove the cake from the baking dish and add to a large mixing bowl. Crumble the cake with your hands. Add 2 tbsp of frosting to the crumbled cake and mix with a spoon or your hands.
Scoop cake with ice cream scoop and press cake into hand and then roll the cake ball with the palm of your hands to smooth any imperfections. Place formed balls on a baking sheet.
In a heat safe bowl, melt about 1/4 cup of chocolate chips in a microwave. Heat in 30 second intervals to avoid overheating the candy until smooth (you can also do this with a double boiler as I have in the video)
Dip the tip of each cake pop stick into the melted candy and poke it into to ball about halfway through. Place each cake pop onto a baking sheet and transfer to the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt the rest of the candy in a bowl. Make sure you melt them in 30 second intervals with mixing in between until smooth (again you can use the double boiler method if you don’t own a microwave). Add the coconut oil to the chocolate chips and mix well. Add melted candy into a tall cup.
Once the cake pops have been in the refrigerator for 20 min, dip each into the melted chocolate chips to make sure the entire cake pop is covered. Leave them in the refrigerator and only work on 2-4 at a time. Then slowly pull up the cake pop, do not swirl (they will come off), hold the cake pop in one hand and tap your wrist so that all the extra melted candy drips off.
Sprinkle the cake pop right away so that the sprinkles stick to it before the candy hardens and place the stick part inside the styrofoam and allow the candy to harden. Enjoy! - Jak na to + styl
Just made these today, and let me tell you they were amazing(tasted identical to the ones at Starbucks). Eyeballed the frosting but added two spoonfuls and also added mini semi sweet chocolate chips. They were so good and my whole family enjoyed them and asked for more. Will definitely make again soon!! 10/10
I'm so glad to hear that they were a hit with everyone, that makes my day! ❤🤗

Hi Lydia, you're looking well ! I'm amazed that Starbucks is so busy over there, we have them here too but I've never seen queuing up like that. Your cake pops look very nice and I'm sure they're worth waiting for too.
Thanks Matt! Oh Starbucks over here always has a line, it's so frustrating. It's funny to hear that you guys don't have lines at Starbucks, that would be a dream over here 😁

i love this and i’m definitely going to try to make them, but starbucks cake pops do have chocolate chips in them so i’m going to use those as well!!
It's so interesting because I keep hearing that Starbucks cake pops have chocolate chip but mine didn't 🤔 Hope you enjoy them!
Love Love Hebrews!
🤗❤️
Yummy these look so good ! I'm gonna make these tomorrow..homemade ones are better than Starbucks 👌❤. If u can plz mak a recipe for moist lemon cake🍋
I will try! Hope you enjoy these homemade ones! 🙂
I liked the second I saw the verse. ❤
Yes they are thank youuu
You're welcome! ❤
Thank you, I think that oil tip is what I'm missing!! I've been using chocolate chips and no matter how long I freeze my cake pops for they always fall apart when I'm dipping them in chocolate so I stated making them with fudgy brownies instead of cake bc of the STRUGGLE lmao. In my testing use 1 less egg then the box calls for so you get a more dense cake and that does the trick to match Starbucks.
You are welcome! I hope they turn out for you and are no longer a struggle, they are so much work and the last thing you want is to have them fall apart ❤️
I’m a kid and I looooove cake pops so I’m making this with my mom
Nice! Hope you guys enjoy them 😊
I’m making these for my boyfriend just for a little treat he can have, I hope he’ll like them
Mm looks fantastic :)
Thanks, hope you are doing well! 😁
Hi Mrs. Lydia! I'm a very young baker, and I followed your birthday cake pop recipe and they came out AMAZING! They came out so good that I'm baking the chocolate ones to see if they come out good as well. I do have one question though. In your birthday cake pop video, after you took the cake out of the oven, you put it in the fridge overnight. Could I do it with this chocolate cake as well? I would like them to be as moist as possible. Tysm for your amazing videos!
Your welcome, so glad to hear that! ❤
Yes you can do that, I just didn't do it with this video because it confused so many people.
Hey Lydia, can these be frozen for eating later on? Thanks
Amazing! I wondered how long the cakepops will last for... For example I made them on Thursday will it still be good till Monday? Thank you!
Thank you, they should last that long no problem 🙂
I jus want to have it 👍🏻
They taste so good that I can’t stop eating them
Hey,do you remember me,I’m Renica from 10 months I made some of your cake pops and they were so good can’t wait to try this one.
Welcome back!
@@LydiaApril Hope your pregnancy goes well
Hey girlll,
First, I just wanted to say I love youuu. I've been watching you for wayy to long and you're just so much fun. I hope you're baby boy will be happy and healthy. And second, I have a bunch of box cake mixes but unfortunately some of my family is vegetarian and for a birthday I was going to make these amaazing cake pops for everyone. I've checked out many things online saying to use yogurt or something else. Do you have any advice?
Love you
Hi Manvi! Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words 💗🤗💖
Ooo that is a bit tough.... if they are just vegetarian you might be safe because I'm assuming they just don't eat meat which shouldn't be in any of the ingredients for the cake pops. If they are vegan that is a bit more challenging because you'd have to make sure there isn't any animal products in the cake mix, frosting and chocolate candy melts and the best way to do that is make everything from scratch or go to a vegan store and buy vegan ingredients and test everything out to make sure you can successfully make them for the birthday party.... if you are trying to avoid the eggs, you can try substituting them with yogurt, unsweetened applesauce or even ripen banana but again, I'd test it first to make sure it works. Hopefully this was somehow helpful, it's tough baking for people with different dietary needs. I wish you the best of luck! ❤
@@LydiaApril omg ty sooo much for replying 🥰🥰🥰. I made the cake pops, a HUGE success. Everyone loved them. Big thanks go to you. I used plain yogurt to substitute the eggs and followed all the rest as instructed and they worked out perfectly. Tysm 😘😘😘 hope you’re doing well and the baby’s kicking 😄
Thank you for the update, I'm so glad they worked out!!! 💖💖💖 Baby boy is kicking and hopefully getting ready to come into this world 💙
Hope you have an awesome Sunday! 💗
Hi, does anyone know if this will work fine with the Betty Crocker vanilla icing? I happen to have some lying around so it world be perfect
I love your Channel
ITS AMAZING. DO WE NEED TO FREEZE THEM ALSO FOR AROUND 10 MINS?
Thank you, no you do not need to freeze them 🙂💗
If you want to make your cake pops a little richer and dark chocolate-y I would recommend adding a tablespoon or a little more of cocoa powder (sifted) in the cake batter to give it a darker taste. I'll be trying that and definitely will update when I can!!!
Today I'm going to make cake pops I'm a kid but I LOVE TO BAKE psst I think I'll subscribe
That's awesome that you love to bake and are young! 🤗💗 Hope you enjoy the cake pops!
Can I plug-in these chocolate balls in skewers sticks??...does it break?
Baby boy busy refining his palette. Hey sis^^
Yes he is!!! And he is getting big, only 5 weeks left 😳
Hope you're doing great love! 💗
😱oi oi, he's growing so fast!
@@LydiaApril caught me just about 6am heading to the kitchen to nibble some lentil curry from last night🤣🤣🤣
Send some over, I love lentils. Now if I could only convince my husband they are good 😁
Oooh, I got lentils ranking high with the meats.
How are the starbucks cake pops different from regular cake pops??
can you please please make the cookie dough starbucks cake pops those are my favorite and i really want to make them
Hey Karen, I'll have to look in those 🙂
What part of Texas you live in? I see your shirt that it says Silo, Waco I live from there like 30 mins
Hi Lydia,
Thanks for your video. I just made it and they were great. However, I got problem about storing. I put the pops into a container, then put in a fridge. The next day, the pops sweated. So what should I do to prevent it from sweating?
Your welcome! I would just store them at room temperature (as long as it's not too hot) instead of the refrigerator 🙂💗
What Camara do you use to film your videos
Can you make a diy of making the chocolate chip cookie dough cake pops from Starbucks?
I'll have to look into it! 🙂
My cake pops crack, now I know they have to be at room temperature before dipping in chocolate 🙄 other than those hair line cracks they came out great
Is this an updated and better version of your last one? Please let me know because I LOVED the last one, so I'm hoping these'll taste even more amazing?
It's pretty much the same with some minor tweaks and chocolate flavor 😁
Hi there, just one question... Can I use cream cheese or butter or a combination of both instead of adding frosting to the mix? Newbie on cake pops here.
Here come another 1M video 😉 ✌️
Ahhh that would be awesome! 😁
Hope you are doing great and have a safe weekend!
Everything is going ok on this side.
Have a great weekend too 😜
You forgot to add chocolate chips to the batter but going to make these! Thank you
Walmart and discount stores have things for a small budget too
I'm going to make these with my aunt.
Hope y'all enjoy them! 🤗
@@LydiaApril Thank you!
Can we use our on cake mix?
Absolutely! 😁
Ok thank you
Is it possible to use brownies? my family can't eat cake.
I'm not sure but I'm thinking that it might work
@@LydiaApril thank you!

You are very funny Lydia ❤️😁
Pls....i need a cake receip.
Hi
Aww so people don't like cake pops now?? Haters. My daughter is 3 and craves "Starbucks" lol aka Cake pops from there.
But I'm tryna save money because I got fired! 😬
Thanks for the recipe!
Right!?!? LOL kiddos (and adults) love cake pops, everytime I make them they are gone so quickly! 😆
Hope everything works out and you find an amazing job! 💗🤗
I used the whole jar of frosting 🤣🤣🤣 here for the last step whoops lol
I wonder if Starbucks adds espresso to their cakepops to bring out the chocolate flavor more.
Ooo I wonder that now as well 🤔 It might be a good idea to add some instant coffee for the chocolate flavor to intensify 😁
We are going to make these this weekend! Maybe we’ll try it. 😋
I hope you guys enjoy them! ❤
What’s the difference when you use chocolate chips other than the chocolate melts
Honestly, I've only had success with the melts. Never had the chocolate chips work out for me...but you can always try and see.
@@LydiaApril just made them with the Ghirardelli melts and it tasted amazing. Thanks for the tip
Hello Lydia! The pagan here, again. (Odin before Jesus) A very important thing, in these troubled times: different opinions and still "working together"? Yes! It should be possible. But that is politics.
Sure gonna give that a try. Idea: finely chopped marshmellos in the mixture might make it extra fluffy (family secret even with cup cakes).
Plus an icing that my grandma used to make: gently stir in some lemon juice into powder sugar. It should be really thick. Some of the moisture will evaporate. Some will be sucked up by the dough. But it creates a nice crispy crust after a few hours.
Well: lemon and chocolate? Not the worst!
I've been out in the woods today to harvest mushrooms. With 2 recipes in mind: small mushroom dumplings to add to a soup.
And mushroom "meat" balls. A polish recipe. Would you be interessted in those?
I'm making dumplings from just one sort of mushroom at a time. So I can add dumplings into a soup that all taste just like that particular mushroom. (Thinking of christmas, already. To create something special.)
I cook, vacuum and deep frezze them, right now. Dumplings can be magic! And to create a variety of 'em is a goal for me.
Like, also: parmesan or bone marrow dumplings. That would make 5 different ones, so far.
Greetings from the far north of Germany!
People can definitely get along that have different opinions, just like we do 😁
Yum, you are making me hungry with your recipes and I have actually been thinking about making some dumpling soup because the weather has been getting chilly here and it just sounded good. Might have to try something with mushrooms and dumplings now that you mentioned it 😁
@@LydiaApril Some should learn from us: spread the love, increase the peace :-) (John Quilter. aka Foodbusker on YT)
For the mushroom dumplings: fry some 50g of mushrooms in 15g of butter on medium low heat for some 15min. (Yes! THAT long! Most mushrooms are toxic, when raw. The heat will break it down. Only a few mushrooms can be eaten raw. Like white mushrooms and boletus edulis. Here, I'm talking about "most" mushrooms.) Let them cool down to room temperature and finely chop them.
Next, you wanna whisk up 30g of room temperature butter and add 1 egg, 10g of starch, your mushrooms and about 40g of breadcrumbs. Just to a desired consistancy (size of egg matters). Let that sit for some 30 min.
Prep some salty water to cook it. It should be just at a simmer. The dumplings will drop the temp. Just fiercly boiling water will destroy your dumplings. Make small dumplings. The breadcrumbs in the mixture will make them grow.
Bon apetite!
@@peterdoe2617 Love it how we celebrate what we have in common than what's different about us; African freethinker here. I'm down with anyone who loves good food. Bone marrow dumplings sound divine! Next time I'm making chapli kebabs I'll save some marrow for that.
