Bountiful Persimmon Harvest: Dreaming of a Fall Garden Update

The last frost in March destroyed my persimmon crop this year. So, was it all a dream? In this video, I'm excited to share with you my persimmon harvest! Persimmons are a delicious and nutritious fruit that are perfect for fall, and I'm thrilled to show you how I'm using them in my kitchen.
First, I'll take you on a tour of my persimmon tree and show you how I harvest the fruit. I'll share some tips on how to harvest them.

This is the first time i have seen a channel speak about these. A park near me grows them all over the place. I didn't know what they were. ❤❤❤❤❤

Be careful of eating them in the park. They might be astringent persimmons which can be mouth-puckeringly nasty, like eating unripe banana (but worst) UNTIL they get fully ripe. Non-astringent persimmons can be eaten once they have turned orange and just get better as they soften. Astringent varieties shouldn't be eaten until they soften and get jelly like inside. Might want to ask people who work at the park if know know which type they have. Enjoy!

How long did it take to get fruit from the tree?

I had a few fruit the year after I planted it. Within 2-3 years I started getting a good amount of production.
