Running on an i73770, 32gbDDR3, and a 16gb RX580. Flawless. Everything runs perfectly.
1:30 Being 45, I'm past the point of no return. This device just solves the mess of getting roms together in one place.
I understand. We are of a similar age. Even though I'm fine setting up emulators and so on, I'm at the age where it really is a faff I don't want to deal with.
Yeah I bought this I love it Works instantly simple and easy to use every game I used to have back in the day is on there on every system I used to have , it's just it's awesome Trail to go back and play all the stuff that I used to love to play and I'm 49 so I go all the way back to Super Mario Bros in 87 for Christmas have had every system all the way up and through including the 3do
Connecting a pre-filled Chinese SSD directly to you PC. What could possibly go wrong 😉
Oh my God this seems like the worst possible idea
would be more concerned about those dodgy circuits that fry usb controllers.. the drive contents itself can be safely mounted on a system that doesnt autorun software ..
@@jub8891This is just a hard drive. It doesn't have USB ports for controllers.
Lol, that's why I wasn't using my main. PC 👍😁.
@@skins4thewin No, he’s referring to the hardware built into your motherboard that controls the USB ports on your PC, not a physical controller you use to play games.
Although this isn't something I would purchase because I've managed my own emu libraries since the nesticle/genecyst/RAGE/etc days, I certainly see the appeal of having stuff already set up and ready to go. If you've thrown your PSX into the sea and can't play Playstation 1 games anymore, this could get you back an instant library of games.😉
Lol, who on earth would throw their PS1 in to the see 😋😁
@@RetroCore Yeah, the only person crazy enough to do that would also have had an image of Fina on their website landing page.
@@RetroCore Definetly mothers would
It satisfies a need. There are some people who don’t have the knowledge or desire to set up their own drive.
Indeed. For those people a completed setup like this is a fantastic option.
Excellent video! Would this all run well on a AMD Ryzen 7 5800U Mini PC?
Playstation 3 emulation on that setup was giving me flashbacks to the early days of N64 emulation, nearly everything ran at those sorts of frame rates with the same stuttering sound. I think we're probably about 5-10 years away from PS3 emulation being mature enough for you to just pickup and play with most games working.
Strangely, the lights on the front of the drive look just like Isaac Clarke's helmet from Dead Space 2.
RPCS3 is very stable and supports the majority of games these days, you do need higher specs than this for it though. I was using it to play the original Demon's Souls as I never had a PS3.
Oh wow, you're right about the lights on the HDD case. I didn't notice that until you just mentioned it.
I can imagine PS3 emulation would work much better on a beefy PC set up.
@@-TriP- true, i play plenty ps3 on my pc using rpcs3, sure some game has compatibility issues, but most games i wanna play run fine. i dont think it will run on that gtx 750 tho, at least 1060 perhaps? i use 3070.
@@bopiangM the recommended specs for PS3 equivalent graphical settings are a nVidia GTX 900 series/AMD RX400 series and a CPU with at least 6 cores/12 threads. It'll run on less than that, but not very well, as you saw here. On my RTX 2080 + i9-9700k I can comfortably play games like MGS3 HD edition at 300% (4k) resolution scaling with 16x anisotropic filtering. Raising the default resolution above 720p has caused a few crashes for me however.
Batocera type HDD solutions seem fine for a secondary offline pc or system - id just be careful of any sensitive data on the system or possible malware... TBH its always a risk regardless 👊
*Its Thunderforce V on Saturn btw 😅✌️
Also.. "that RGB HDD LED is not the RGB you are looking for... Move along ..."😅
Yeah, why on earth did I say Thunder Force 4 😅. I noticed that when watching back the edited video. By that point though, I just left it.
Not a bad piece this is Mark. If I can buy it at a right price. I'll consider doing so. 8^)
Anthony...
Not a lot of systems actually, didn't notice Sega Genesis/MegaDrive for one. Not to mention all the niche systems that Chinese game-preloaded consoles like to include, from Master System to Amiga, Atari and PC-98.
Yeah, if they got rid of the PS4 titles since emulation for that system is still very much in its infancy, so none of those games are going to run at all well and those ten ISOs and/or digital packages must take up a ton of space (I know for a fact that none of those games are any less than 40 GB in size each in install size, uncompressed, so that console's inclusion easily takes up a good 25% of that entire drive even if compressed), they could just replace that with all Sega consoles pre-Saturn, Neo Geo, Neo Geo CD, Neo Geo Pocket, Wonderswan, MSX, MSX2, PC-98, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 8-bit, Atari ST, Jaguar, Commodore 64, Amiga, PC Engine, PC-FX, CD-i, Virtual Boy, every arcade system MAME currently supports, and still have enough room for the NES/Famicom, Game Boy family of handhelds and Game Gear that were also neglected to be put on here. Hell, they could probably still fit the entire eXoDOS and ScummVM libraries on there for kicks.
8:52 I can't tell you how MANY hours I spent just shaving hundredths of a second off my lap time on this track
I would do that on Saturn Daytona back in 1995. Man, they were the days.
@@RetroCore i know right ..
yes Mark...they're unethical but great value and easy emulation for plug and play gaming...hypocritical? i bought the Hyper Base one last year...half this price but lower quality...by that i mean it corrupted after i used it to install to internal hard disk (but it served its purpose)...i just prefer the Batocera front end anyway...i'm familiar with it...and Batocera installs on any HDD or EMMC or plugin flashdrive...this is a good choice for those who don't tinker with software...like the Battle of the Ports series...how the different versions compare...and how much effort or not the developers committed to it at the time
I do love a game of Super Nintendo on my Nintendo.
😁It's all about consistency 😁
Great video, thanks!
Can you please let me know the respective file types of the games for the different consoles?
Hi mate . Thanks for the video . Sorry about the ignorance but can you connect that to a gaming laptop?
Sure, as long as it's running Windows.
Hey Mark, did you heard that someone managed to patch most of the bonus games included on MD Mini 2 to run outside of it? It is still missing two of them (four with the Party Quiz Mega ones).
No, I didn't know that. So does that mean space Harrier will work on a stock Mega Drive?
Unfortunately, the person did not patch the "Plus" games yet, only standard MD games for now (Fantasy Zone, Spatter, Super Locomotive and US version of Star Mobile).
Which kind of controller were you using, and did it require configuring for this system?
I was using a Brook Vivid controller which PC's identify as a Xbox 360 controller.
It worked without configuration on everything apart from the Dolphin emulator that runs Wii, Game Cube and Wii U. I had to configure the controller for those systems. That's easy enough to do though.
PSP running fairly decently? Audio stutter and sound glitches, massive framedrops into the mid 10s... Do you really can't hear and see it?
Will this work on Rog ally?
Sorry, I have no idea. It should as long as the ROG is running windows.
Comprei um desses. Launchbox 13.3. Após menos de um mês parou. Não entra mais no app. Carrega ,mas trava ainda na pagina dos meus documentos. Alguém pode me ajudar ? Obrigado.
What about sports games for ps2 specifically
What about them?
Hey man, Loved the video...
Is there any option of applying filters to smooth out the edges?
Thanks again😉
Yes, launch box does have these options.
Just asking can it hook up to nvieda shield??
As long as the Nvidia Sheild can accept Windows formatted drives then yeah, it should work.
Can someone please confirm if tetsunoko vs capcom for wii and run n gun 2 for arcade is included with this?
Tetsunoko vs Capcom was on mine. But that does not guarantee it will be on all. These types of devices often get revised.
Does this have any Sega Model 3 etc on it?
I'm afraid not but it is possible to add them.
@@RetroCore Oh OK. And in your opinion would this be able to run them ok without issues? Thanks
Has China ever actually released a GOOD preloaded setup? All I've ever seen are junky ones w tons of duplicate games & PS1 ISO's with no music...
The Anbernic RG35xx series of handhelds are very good and come preloaded with a ton of games, however you'll be hard-pressed to find a collection that isn't also bloated with bootlegs and duplicates unless you look elsewhere for your own. Anything claiming 1000+ titles is gonna be padded to hell.
Only the Anbernic devices from withing the last 2 years. Everything else is typical of China, half arsed.
I got this today. After a virus scan. Tested some games. Everything I tested worked just fine.
@@MuffHam You're one of the ones that doesn't get it... it's not about the games working or not, of course they work. It's about the crappy ROM collection that isn't curated well & has many ISO rips w missing music. If you don't know what an ISO even is then you aren't going to understand this subject.
@@skins4thewin All i know is it comes with both switch Zeldas. They work just fine. Those two games alone is the cost of the system.
The rest of the 4000 games is extra value.
Could you plug it into an xbox x?😮
You could but it wouldn't work. You could use the Hard drive as a storage device though.
I call BS on PS4.... there are NO games that are playable yet as they are just starting to work on PS4
There PC versions of PS4 games.
@@MuffHam yeah I figured as much
There ara some places ypu can download a pre setup emulator platform for free no need to give money to some dodgy company
Link please?
Lol of course they're gonna have PS3/PS4 instead of a more complete PS1/Saturn collection like it should have.... What a waste of space.
There was a strong Saturn and PlayStation collection on the device.
Sir I have become a fan of your channel and continuessely i am watching your videos. Sir please i need a Free Give away this Retro Beast Mini PC from your kind side. Best Regards and waiting for your Proactive favorable response to me ❤
I refuse to support anyone that sells preloaded drives. They didn't pay anything for the roms yet they are profiting from it. No thanks... I'll buy my own blank drive and do it myself
That's because you can. Some people though are absolutely clueless.
I'm not saying this product is ethical but it could be something for those who are clueless about emulation.
Saying that, having a friend who could set up a HDD would be a better option.
@@RetroCore even thieves have ethics... LOL Thieves dont profit off of other thieves
I ve tried to work the emulation and I'm clueless on it if this works for me I'm gonna get it it's your opinion and yours only peace.
@@derricklyles6918 I was clueless too.... why you google and learn how to do this stuff... Now I know what I am doing and prefer to save my money and not support pirates that profit off people like you. I'd rather give things away than profit off of it
I think it's bollocks the gamws are old and don't work anymore even if you have old desert storm gamas don't work on pc anymore we need to emulate windows 95 to play most of those games these hdd boxes preloaded with console emulators means we can play old gen games with not many issues
