Feather recently recieved backlash from their users regarding the in-game permission to use their webcam. Everyone on twitter was speculating that Feather had a malicious motive. In this video I explain the truth around what happened and how a misinterpreted pop-up created a big suspicion in the community.

The way the owner debunked it was pretty dang chill, he knows its wrong and proves it with hard facts, no filler just facts

I don't really use feather, never planning to use it even if it release. But got dang poor them, the first controversy was on them, but this one was just bruttal, not even the owner's fault and it just put more heat to feather client.
The 1st one was really blown out imo, they have already fixed the issue before they got exposed by Physci
Lunar did the same thing Feather did, but they don't get exposed by a 1-side tweet made by an owner of a really big client (ahem, Lunar), so Feather get more hate lol
@TheDarkCarnage Replaymod situation (u know this already), they also took 3D Skin Layer mod code without perm as well (well its been 3 months since the mod creators called them out, idk if this issue was fixed). Another mod creator who made the original cpsmod, shiny pots, keystroke,... also called them out for taking their code, still not sure if this one is also fixed, no update on the situation yet

@@zuki9537 Almost any AV is lowkey unnecessary as long as you're not downloading anything stupid and going to stupid sites all the time. Generally they just hinder performance

@@zuki9537 Ehh, a lot of what most AVs do is very basic stuff that you could do yourself with basic safety precautions. It slows down your hardware a lot too.
From a vanilla cpvp perspective:
Feather > lunar
Reason being lunar actually slows down your ability to place and break entities therefore making crystal speeds slower. Servers have had to make plugins just to make crystal speeds faster

@@yal1621 “perfect” you mean they steal code and is just forge but (used to be) locked behind a paywall and getting exposed a lot (not the webcam thing)
Feather client is based on chromium, and chrome does want access to your webcam, thats why it asks for the client. to check if it is based on chromium looking in task manager is enough.
I’m just glad this wasn’t a video about how bad feather was, as a feather user myself, I hate it when people do that

I didn't end up finding an adequate Minecraft Client since Lunar is too popular and could easily destroy all and Badlion is kernel level, so i'll make my own.
The side where feather gets negative reviews is from lunar, badlion partners. And with the whole mod copying thing people can put In their own mods and the shown mods on the mods page includes authors names.

@@lamarr51 feather is a mod pack (like lunar) but the difference is that feather uses forge and fabric, that mean if you want to play on a moded servers you can add your own mods, and if you really like a mod that isn't integrated to feather you can add it by yourself

@Adviser hackers can use webcam to see you typing your password (works best in laptops where webcam is often at an angle that show your keyboard)
edit: this may be a glitch but it may also be an accidental reveal of some kind of malicious software
which average person just has a webcam sitting around facing directly to their keyboard so that everything they type is clear

@@Skyphide clients cant provide hitreg since thats what the server does. vanilla minecraft wont just remove hits on a server without anticheat for example, but on servers with anticheat it will. no client can change hitreg
