So they told everyone to evacuate is if everyone has a place to go but then when they do evacuate they find out that the hurricane has changed the path and perhaps heading to their location
@Ai Cr Don't sweet talk me and don't avoid what I said. Don't tell me about zones A b and c especially when people have already confused them with flooding zones. The path of the hurricane has changed from their initial projection and probably will change again and that is the conversation I was having. You cannot dispute what I said therefore you come out here like a butt kisser to the establishment who don't give updated information and don't give clear precise information. I'm not talking about zone A and zone b or zone c. Actually if you look at the zones my property is clear but that doesn't match up with the current path that they have on a hurricane. New information needs new details. You are the problem that lets the establishment continue informing the public of a different trajectory but not given useful information on how that should affect the citizens who would be in the new trajectory of the path. Right now you can kiss my entire ass.

Construction codes in Florida required buildings to be able to withstand cat 3 hurricanes. Once it makes landfall, its' power drops significantly in a short amount of time.

Everyone who lives on the coastline has different instructions from those who live with inside of the city. They're evacuation zones don't match up with the current 11:00 a.m. projection path of the hurricane. When people try to be useful and they don't have any useful information then they're just wasting your time. @Sonic Sony 5 ; Very unlikely. Once it makes landfall it rapidly loses energy. There might some good rain and breeziness, but the storm will begin to collapse and no longer be as well organized. If the waters of the Atlantic are very warm, it might let it build back up a bit, but it will no longer post a threat to Florida.

good luck man but this is nothing like a blizzard. The sounds 100mph winds make is terrifying let alone the damage. This is my second major hurricane since ive lived in Saint Petersburg, first being Irma. I am praying this thing goes south because it would devastate Tampa Bay.
This is nothing like a blizzard. You can get up to 33 feet of snow equivalent of rain with this. There is never a 33 foot blizzard. Nor do you get the insane wind. The water level may increase straight up by ten feet. Be ready.

I’m from New Orleans and I’ve lived in Buffalo, NY. They are completely different!!! You don’t get tornadoes in a blizzard!!! That’s just one difference.

We were in zone A in Tampa and evacuated like we were supposed to and went to Polk County thinking we would be safe but it seems like Lakeland will be hit hard. Should be leave Lakeland and travel back up north !? All hotels are out of rooms in Polk County, there are some hotels available in Daytona. Do you think it would be wise to go to Daytona ? We don’t know what to do now .

Kristen; Probably zippo. After it goes through Florida it will lose a great deal of its energy. Even if the Atlantic waters are warm enough to fuel it back up again, the winds are still pushing it eastward as you have no doubt observed.
However, as with all natural disasters, hurricane are not 100% predictable.

This isn’t even gonna hit st Pete / Tampa
The National Hurricane Center has been an absolutely horrific disaster on predicting this particular hurricane! The early predictions for this storm were a landfall in Southwest Florida on Wednesday last week. Then the projected landfall moved north and west over the weekend by about 400 to 450 miles to the Tallahassee and Panama City region. Then it moved 300 miles southeast to the Tampa area on Sunday and Monday. Now the projected landfall today is about 100 miles south of Tampa.
What an inexcusable disaster the NHC has created for emergency disaster management with this hurricane. I wouldn’t say that a projected landfall gap of over 400 miles in two to three days of forecasting is a success story. The meteorologists have been absolutely awful on predicting the landfall of this hurricane! A gap of over 400 miles in their predictions of landfall in a few days time is just not acceptable! This shouldn’t be acceptable to the American people from a government agency such as the NHC. I’ve seen many hurricanes in my lifetime. This is without any doubt the most poorly predicted hurricane I’ve ever seen in my lifetime!
