    Really Grace, BvS is the best DCEU movie?!?!? You think it's better than Wonder Woman?

    • @BeyondTheTrailer
      @BeyondTheTrailer  Před 6 lety +353

      Y'know, I realized that after some people pointed it out, and I think that while I LOVE Wonder Woman, it doesn't feel like a DC movie to me... Maybe because I've never enjoyed her character in the comics outside of Greg Rucka's work...

    The movie was good, but it could've (maybe even should've) been much better. There were scenes where you can tell something was cut out, and it makes the film go pretty fast. It sucks that WB cut down the runtime, a 3 hour JL film would've been awesome. Despite that, I still enjoyed the film.

    • @Jucelegario
      @Jucelegario Před 6 lety +1

      @@doc8013 I could see the Weedon parts. Well edited in a sense that everything was put in the place it should have, like Legos, which doesn't mean it was perfect nor great, it means that beyond the obvious flaws, it felt it belong there had Snyder shot those scenes. It felt more organic their interactions, never uncomfortable, unlike the Avengers and I didn't expect the JL to have its cast be like that.

    Batfleck gets better and better ,the movie is way better than RT current score of 38%. The silly unforced errors on Superman’s cgi mouth right in the beginning is just an example of DCEU not realizing how close to perfect they need to be right now. I actually like Superman better after his resurrection, it does the trick his first two movies couldn’t. Bruce Wayne’s quote to Alfred about how Superman is more human than he is was perfect.

    • @abstractjwl806
      @abstractjwl806 Před 6 lety +1

      Lee Ellis Batman IS the weakest part of the team, he's only human ;), )but not as human as superman). He's got gadgets and they do what they do before they get ripped apart by demons. If they do Legion of Doom type stuff instead of Darkseid you will see Batman more in control but still not as powerful against meta humans.

The problem with them in the movie is that there is no explanation for them in the movie other then vague powers that they didn't take the time to flesh out. I loved the comics version of darkseid and the new gods. One of my all time favorites. They did not do the origins of these characters or the mother boxes justice in my opinion.

      Robert LeBeau I know you're saying he's just pointing out the obvious, but I have read so many comments and met so many people who are not seeing this story arc at all, like, they just aren't getting it that this is Snyder telling a very large Superman story, and he's bringing in the other people of the Universe to help tell it. Perhaps it would've been better if he called it "Man of Steel II: BvS" and "MoS III: Justice League".

    I personally loved this film! One of the most fun times I’ve had in the theater this year, and my personal favorite DCEU film so far. Sure, the plot could have been better and the CGI fixed, but it didn’t bother me too much because I’m used to these weaker plots for team-up superhero films. Although, I was sad with the butt shots of Diana/Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman I thought was awesome in this movie, but I didn’t like how they focused on her butt in some scenes because I felt it was disrespectful to women and Gal Gadot. Other than that though, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. One of my favorites of the year tbh. I’m sad that the film has such a bad reception critically because I really love the DCEU. My favorite things about the film were Ezra Miller’s Flash, Superman, the action sequences, and the dialogue. To be perfectly honest, I loved Thor: Ragnorak, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Guardians 2 this year, but I honestly liked this film even more. I think the DCEU is a more unique series right now since we have seen so many MCU films (17 to be exact). Don’t get me wrong, I love the MCU, but I love the new epic fresh feel of the DCEU films. I do think that overall the MCU is a better more mainstream franchise though. But that’s enough for the MCU vs DCEU debate.

    Batmans nightmare was a future where earth has been taken over by darksides forces with the aid of superman and some brainwashed followers. Batman was then told by the flash that lois is the key ti stopping this happening basically.
    After he resurrects superman it seems like the nightmare is going to become a reality until batman uses lois to stop superman, following the flashes advice, thus stopping the nightmare from. Becoming real

There's no way Bruce would've known that Lois would make Superman come to his senses unless he had that warning from future Flash.

Headbutt scene puts into prospective that it takes Superman way more then he thought it would take to put her down, and stopping machine gun bullets at the begging shows her speed. I took from the movie she's actually the best all around super hero. She's obviously not the strongest, fastest or smartest but all put together she could beat them all 1v1 besides Superman again obviously.

      Of course people will be skeptical, had DC come first they would've gotten softer reviews (they're still flawed movies) BvS might've even gotten an oscar nom. But the reality is that they *did* come after marvel, and they *did* not change their tactics to appease the critics. And I think WB is to blame. Marvel makes its own movies, Disney only owns and profits from it. DC on the other hand doesn't have its own movie brand meaning every choice has to get past the higher-ups at WB which gives so much bad mojo to the movies.

    Hey hear me out... for me Justice League was a rushed movie, they rushed to change some things after Batman v Superman backclash and they rushed to get it out to the stablished release date. In my opinion I liked the film, I liked what Zack was achiving, what he was making and I know that having Whedon to be a part was a great choise... but for me the movie had some stylistic inconcistences, visualy and in dialogue (with some parts of excesive comedy or character interactions that just felt off for me) In a perfect world I would have Zack finishing his vision and Weeton only coming in to help him on the script, NOT directing, NOT editing. I really REALLY hope for an extended version. And in the end I feel that a way they could have saved the movie was giving it more time, time to edit, time to fix the CGI, time to fix some parts of the script. But all of that is my opinion and I want to know how do you all feel.

I was happy they got right into the story, as that was one of my issues with the first Avengers movie (the first half of that movie really drags on) which is the other team movie. I quite enjoyed the characters though, and I understand some people didn't like the flash, but I honestly enjoyed him the most, and he kinda reminded me like an excited child, which I guess made the character more relatable to me, as I was feeling quite the same. As for Superman, again, no reason to blame Batman for his death. He should be blaming Lex (or himself for not just throwing the spear or giving it to WW). Plus he trusted Batman enough to put his mothers life in his hands!

      It would have been so cool if they used the plot where Steppenwolf was tired of being a pawn to his nephew so he came to earth to make his own Apocalypse where he would rule, using the power of the motherboxes. Such a missed opportunity to develop the character. And yeah, once Superman came, Steppenwolf wasn't scary anymore because Sups could solo him. Together with the rest of the heroes, Steppenwolf had no chance. It was overkill. I would actually be upset if they didnt follow up and do Darkseid, especially after the batman dream sequence. I really hope they are not playing it off to just be for this movie. It wasnt even a dream. It was a vision from Savit-- I mean, future flash!

    The problem is Zack Snyder! Man of Steel was good because Christopher Nolan was babysitting him. BvS Christopher Nolan wasn’t babysitting and it was a fucking piece of shit! Wonder Woman was not touched by Snyder and it was amazing. Suicide Squad was tainted with Snyder’s horrid ideas. Warner Bros. Needs to tell Snyder to fuck off and give Christopher Nolan a billion dollars and put him in charge of the DCEU.
    I’m to the point where I am about to praise the Joel Schumacher Batman films. That’s how bad Snyder’s ideas, stories, and scripts are.

    Justice League goes to prove that Batman was right all along. The REAL threat to the world is Superman. Steppenwulf was having fun fighting the rest of the JL until Superman showed up and proved that he was more powerful. Superman is what struck fear into Steppenwulf's heart. Batman decided a threat he could control vs a threat he couldn't was worth the risk. And like Barry told Batman in BvS, "Lois was the key".

    I don't agree at all that there was any romance between Bruce and Diana. He just seemed not very empathetic to her and Steve Trevor. If you see any romantic feelings from Bruce, why not Barry and Arthur? - They went further to express their feelings 😂

      Of course Barry and Arthur went further to express their feelings -- Batman is the poster child for not sharing feelings, of course he wouldn't wear his heart on his sleeve. Besides, I got the impression that the attraction Barry and Arthur had for Diana was purely physical. I did get the vibe that Bruce is into her as well, but in his case, it's deeper than just the physical.

      Joel Mathew, I definitely felt that Batman was growing on Diana. Alfred also insinuated that Batman was interested in Diana multiple times. Batman showed some jealousy over long lost Steve Trevor. Batman said Diana can dress up like a bat and go incognito after the fight and that he wouldn't even sue her and Diana coolly replied, "If...we get through the night."
      One question, when Diana said to Batman "I'm here for him" was she referring to Steve Trevor or Superman?

    I admit this is extremely subjective and biased, but I think one of the reasons I saw Wonder Woman so many times was because so many scenes, even the action scenes, literally brought me to tears every single time I saw I‎t. Lifelong Wonder Woman fan here who was seeing the character portrayed how I had always hoped and dreamed. But even in Justice League I was still like: “hell yeah” in her intro scene and when she was able to get good hits and strikes in, but no scene in Justice League gave me chills or made me cry or just gasp out in awe. That’s just my take, but Wonder Woman left me feeling like I had to get back into the theater to see I‎t again. After Justice League I just decided to buy I‎t on disc in a few months to support The film, but I just can’t see I‎t again in theaters.

      @mjamitche5245 Před 6 lety +4

      I think a Green Lantern movie makes sense because he is not part of this Justice League yet. Shazam makes sense. Aquaman makes sense if the whole movie takes place under water-because the other JL members can't get there. But, MOS 2, Batman & WW 2 make no sense. You're biggest problem is you go to indepth where it just become stupid, you did the same with your review on cap in civil war. Grace! I love hearing your perspective on the film; because, (as a die hard Wonder Woman fan) my interpretation of events were so vastly different! during the heated argument between him and Diana I loved the scene because of how perfectly in character all our heroes were and was completely on Diana's side, I even enjoyed the flash's comment. I always think it's hilarious when batman gets poked fun at, but I think it's an interesting conversation to be had about the film appealing to different minded people, because several of my friends were also on Batman's side and at the end of the day we all loved the scene.

    This is what I don`t understand and I noticed it also in this Review - why do people think Batman should owe something to Superman and not the other way around? I think the whole resurrection thing is not well thought and it doesn`t make any sense. I think they wanted to go with the idea that supermen dose not recognize anyone and remember anything, but it came up as he just remembers what he wants...What I mean is, he battles Wander Women as if she is her enemy trying to hurt him, but then he remembers about the thing with her bracelets and knows how to stop them; but if he remembers that, why dosen`t he remember that Diana is his ally? same with Batman. He remembers that Batman wanted to kill him and the thing with "do you bleed" or with "You won`t let me live, you wont let me die"... but then he dose not remember that after they both understood Lex`s plan, Batman did not want to kill Superman anymore. He went after Supperman`s Mother, saved her, then fight alongside Superman. It doesn`t make any sens in my opinion, except it they wanted to make Superman Evil but then they changed their minds and re-shoot with Luis Lane calming him down. I did enjoy both BvS and JL, but I do think they need to work on a better story line that makes sense and select a narrative then stick with it (not change it into production)
