About Andrea Stolpe:
Andrea Stolpe is a multiplatinum songwriter, performing artist, and educator. She has worked as a staff writer for EMI, Almo-Irving, and Universal Music Publishing. Her songs have been recorded by artists including Faith Hill, Jimmy Wayne, Julianne Hough, and others. Andrea is the author and instructor of the course Commercial Songwriting Techniques, part of Berklee Online’s songwriting program. Her books, “Popular Lyric Writing: 10 Steps to Effective Storytelling,” and “Beginning Songwriting,” describe how to apply a unique process for uniting our artistic voice with the commercial market. Andrea lives in Los Angeles, and continues to serve as a guest clinician for music organizations around the world.

How long you writing your song and how you stay calm
Very thankful for Andrea, and fortunate to have Ms. Stolpe.
One I would like to offer: write from a different perspective. Approach the lyrics as if you're someone other than yourself. Or write on a different instrument from your primary one. There are endless variations on this idea.

im a classical guitar player and metal guy , but Andrea really helped me with lyrics and phrasing. valueable information.
Another good trick I have found is also singing the chorus and hearing how the end of the first chorus sounds as it goes into the second verse melody. If it doesn’t feel right then you know one of those melodies needs to be tweaked.
Andrea is an angel . This video is revolutionary. Gotta apply the same in my songs now .
