So they were selling approximately 150,000 Chargers & Challengers every year through 2022, then announced no more Hemi's, last call production, introduced limited allocations, inspired insane dealer greed, and now they wonder why sales are down? They created the mess they are in! On top of that they do not know the American market, we do not have the grid or charging stations to support wide spead EV's, plus they do not work in rural areas or for cross country trips...

That's bidenomics. If they shut down Dodge and Chrysler, then they need to move it all off-shore and sell that 💩 off-shore, not stateside. Electric cars are expensive, and the government mandate to electrify is a failure ,the US doesn't have a power grid to support electric vehicles.

Stellantis better plan on pulling out of the U.S. if they do this. We have all watched as Stellantis let Chrysler and Dodge wither away, with increasingly limited and overpriced offerings. Americans have shown time and time again that they do not want mass-market cars from France and Italy, and we want only certain cars from Britain. The arrogant leaders of many European companies seem to think that Americans should be happy to buy the cars THEY want to make. That is not and will not be a winning strategy here.

He shrewdly let the people of Chrysler do their thing, and largely let them develop cars and trucks that lots of Americans wanted. That said, he was always looking for a partner for FCA because he knew that upcoming government regulations were going to be impossible to meet without help. He died, a partner was found, and here we are. Very sad.

The problem is these overseas companies insist on trying to use Chrysler as a Trojan horse to sell their own components and models that Americans don't want. Look at the Dodge Hornet. I love how people can not be open to something new, different or change in any way. I work at a Chrysler dealership and don’t get me wrong I’m very sad and angered to see the Hemi chargers and challengers go away. However, with any business you have to evolve. People need to give the next generation of the charger a chance. Do I agree with some of the decisions that Stellantis has made absolutely not. The Chrysler brand has been ignored and is in need of a revamp in the lineup. There has been ZERO indication that the Chrysler brand or the Dodge brand or any of the American brands for that matter will be axed any time soon. The ones I’ve been hearing the most of are Opel, Lancia, DS, you know the ones that aren’t popular at all or don’t have any notoriety. On a separate note, I’ve had several clients who are sad to see the Hemi RAM’s leave as well but have been pleasantly surprised by the power and capabilities of the hurricane engine. My point is please do not judge the hurricane twin turbo engine before you actually experience it for yourself. Again it’s something new and different so people are going to rebel against it, I get it. The horsepower is comparable and so is the towing capability to the V8 and has better fuel economy. In short, do not judge a new product until you have actually had a chance to experience it for yourself

This is a carry over from why the company went bankrupt to begin with during the original bailout. Then the greed of Stellantus kicked in. The people getting it up the ole poop shoot are the dealers. Honestly I dont give two hoots what happens to them either.. They keep taking allocations for unaffordable unsellable POS vehicles. So honestly WHO gives a crap whether the company sells off or tries to sell off these makers. Most automakers have raised prices ~20% during the pandemic give or take a point or two. Not Stellantis--their prices have went up by 52%. F Stellantis they get what they deserve.

I believe American market is different than Germany and Italian market. I did believe this time for a Chrysler company to come back from the dead. And take back Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram. I believe Chrysler should be brand that could be against Audi and Lincoln. I believe Dodge should be coming against the Corvette and Porsche. I believe the Jeep should be against the Toyota land Cruiser and the bronco. I believe this should be back Plymouth to against Bentley and Royce Royce and Bugatti. I believe this will work.

If they would just lowered their production of HEMI's by 50% they'd have a better chance to compare the sales with EV's they making now and obviously can decide after that! Not to completely shut it down just as their brains are now..

Stellantis shot them selves in the foot by canceling Chargers and Challengers and by dropping the 5.7. EV isnt in our timeline, Tesla is a brand following and won't share their tech. At least Mercedes Figured it out and said to hell with EV all together and bought back the Amg V8s.

In my opinion you are missing the issue. The name is not the product. The Italian government has great sway with Stellantis. They have told them that unless they sell some names to the Chinese they will cancel the marks and give them to Chinese. Italian government is extremely eager to get China to built a EV plant in Italy and China wants Western names for their products for market penetration. European business press says Masarati and Alfa Romaro are on block for new Chinese sport cars. Chrysler is associated with junk quality. Dodge and Ram are safe because they are meaningful in North America and China wants European marks now. Citron is a maybe. I saw a chart for market desirability ranking all marks. Highest was Abarth. Opel also rated high.
My point is, China wants to buy names for their existing or in progress EV cars. not an existing ICE car product.

I think the CEO and parent company has very little knowledge of the American car market and its consumers . They understand Europe but not here . So I too suspect Dodge and Chrysler will be sold off. That could be a favorable outcome.

Numbers check.... Let's move the decimal on that 62 million vehicles sold by Stellantis in 2023 over one place to the left. The leading car manufacturer for 2023 from what I have read was Toyota with 10.8 million vehicles sold around the world 2023. It was just under 6.4 million for Stellantis. Still an impressive number...
