Madonna needed a great deal of tech to get a decent sound. Lauren has a naturally sweet voice and gives a pretty good performance for a live non direct sound feed. Time After Time would have been a better choice. Harry KG
You're quite wrong, at least regarding Like a Prayer. The vocal track Madonna recorded in a single take on the demo without further audio tricksd is what got to the album. Same with other of her songs of that era.
It almost sounds like a different song and that's what makes it so good for me. Not that I don't like the original but her beautiful voice gives so much more depth and emotion to the song and it sounds very rock and roll too. Lauren has a strong presence and was born for music which is a talent one can never achieve with practice.
Madonna doesn't get hate for her music that I've seen, It's usually criticism of her personal life and some a holes make fun of her age and appearance. Lauren is a great singer even if she's no Madonna

The band isn’t particularly tight, her voice is a little off at times and the BVs are a little odd. I’m sure it will get better as the tour progresses
