- Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1987) First Time Watching Movie Reaction, Review, and Commentary for JL. Many moments of fearful admiration for Billy's newfound love for guns and many moments of still repeatedly being bothered by Brigitte Nielsen's history with Flavor Flav were had.

Hey Jay, 6 months today since we lost our co pilot! Hug your puppies for me
So sorry. It’s way hard.
Remember family "All dogs go to heaven" ✌
🫂
Sorry for your loss.
I lost my co-pilot and number 1 friend 4 years ago this past March. I planted some daffodils in his honor and they just came up this week. 💜
@@andieolson5693 just went outside and out of nowhere was a tiny purple flower , one in the whole lawn by where Lito played everyday, and he had a purple collar and leash, been here 3 yrs there’s never been a purple flower before! I know he comes to visit, hear his sniff, smell his smells even hearing him faintly scratching to get on the bed. They take over our hearts and never leave! See you at rainbow bridge Lito!
The reason there was a Cobra movie poster is because in the first Beverly Hill cops they wanted Stalone to play Axle. Stalone wanted it to be more blood and gore so they let him go and got Eddie Murphy. Stalone took his ideas and made the Cobra movie that co stared Bridget Nielson that's why Eddie laughed at the movie poster. Also having Bridget Nielson in the movie was another jab at Stalone.
And the line in this movie, "Forget Rambo".
*Axel
*Brigitte
*Stallone
@@Muck006 *Nielsen
You should also watch 48 Hours. I think it's Eddie's first movie. One of my favorites. The second is great too. It's called Another 48 Hours. You'll love them.
That little bit with Drogo made me cry laughing. I have an English Bulldog....she can CLEAR a room.
@kal54321
And your sinuses I bet. I once had a feminine little Cocker Spaniel who could do the same. And did so one time when my Shakespeare class met at my house & were all in my living room with her in the middle enjoying the students' attention. King Lear was never the same again.
Gilbert Gottfried’s delivery of the line, “BITCH!” Is alone, worth the price of admission.
I died laughing 🤣
People don’t know this, but technically Flava Flav was in the movie. He was inside Bridgette Nielsen the whole time.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
One of the best "same thing again but with more cocaine" sequels of all time. Love this stupid move
I'm only 5 minutes in but props on recognizing Bridget Nelson you're better than most at recognizing faces
The plant called Wandering Jew is a beautiful trailing plant native to Mexico. It's very popular as a house plant. I don't know if it got it's name from the mythical immortal of European stories. The name itself has fallen out of favour recently, some people now call it the "Wandering Dude", which, I admit, is hilarious.
I don’t care what anyone says, but your reaction when the black dude was dancing at 31:00 made me spill out my soft drink
The main villain is not Jeremy Irons, but the German actor Jürgen Prochnow. His big role is as a German submarine commander fighting in the Battle of the Atlantic in the German WWII film "Das Boot". And that is a really good film, I highly recommend it for your channel, though it's all in German.
And the little fella later is Gilbert Gottfried.
Fun fact, Beverly Hills Cop was originally supposed to star Sylvester Stallone. He couldn't see eye to eye with the director over the script. Sly envisioned a much darker and more violent movie so he left the project and wrote and starred in Cobra. That scene where Eddy Murphy was looking at the Cobra poster was a nod to that fact.
Yeah and fuck Rambo.
2 is my fave of BHC. I love Tony's directing (RIP), the new theme song, and the improved relationship between our trio.
Lol, I felt like I was watching Rocky 4 again with all the Flava Flav comments! You were giggling like a little kid throughout which made it that much more enjoyable. Great job to the both you! Nothing but love and respect!
18:47 best pick up shot ever.
Billy is good character development :D
It's always a good day when there's a new EOM video
So the thing with the Cobra movie poster is that it was Bridget's Second movie where she was the co-star and her husband Stallone was the main star. And it was the movie she did before this one making this her third movie
You could taste it? I couldn't stop laughing. :) Love your channel.
This one was always my favorite. Love the way they beefed-up Billy from the weak cop he was in the first one. My favorite scene hands-down is Gilbert Godfrey picking up the phone and calling his wife a b****
The disappointment on your face when he put the bread in the fish bowl has me in TEARS! Lmao!!! Instant sub
The super glue/ fingerprint trick would become commonplace on the CSI tv show franchise in the 2000's and to think Axel Foley was 13 years ahead of the TV police world.
oh hell I can't wait!!!! Love this movie!💯💯💯
One of the very best 80s action flicks, and that's a hell of an achievement considering that decade is God Tier.
Was waiting for the look when Billy shows up with the cement truck. As usual J doesn't disappoint. Lol
This is my favorite of The Beverly Hills Cop series...Thanks for reacting.
Don’t forget the Johnny Wishbone spin-off
Greetings from UK campus! Thank you so very much for the laughs, neighbor! Keep up the good work & never stop being you!
Your call me gesture when Judy and the garden hose was described...😂😂😂
A film i recommend adding to your watch list is The Gauntlet (1977), starring Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke.
Anything with Clint and Sondra is a good time, but I think JL would particularly enjoy Every Which Way But Loose and Any Which Way You Can.
Theres a minute long clip of Gilbert talking about this scene with Chaz palmentari that will crack you up
Gilbert : you know they censor me screaming the word bitch into he phone when it plays on network TV
Oh man , that's ridiculous , what word do they use instead ?
Gilbert : c u n t !
Love these movies.
Love your reactions.
Thank you J.
This is Eddie’s best performance imo.
Back then! Yes!
You'll have a lot of good things to react to here!
Another film i love. This is in my top 50 movies, the original is in my top 5 movies.
It is not Jeremy Irons it is Jürgen Prochnow. He is a German actor best known for the WW2 Submarine movie Das Boat. If you have not seen it I can't recommend it enough. It is one of the best WW2 movies ever made.
I love how intensely serious Billy is, for the pursuit of the weird and risky, like his face at 24:24 when talking about a little B&E or 25:20 or 28:39, he's always down for the crazy S*** lol.
29:09 That face hahahaaa, he's the kind of friend you need to keep away from coffee and sugar. Billy needs a minder at all times lol.
39:22 HAhaahahaaa, wtf. This was good times, I had fun watching this. We need this energy back in movies.
Probably my favourite out of them, love it when he rocks up with the cement truck lol
5:05 my dad presses phone numbers and touchscreens like that its an old man thing 🤣
Maaaan this was one of my favorite childhood movies lol
Drogo said "taste the rainbow!"
Always my favorite my man!! Love you bro! 🎉🎉🎉 And I love the Chubs shirt. One of my favorite characters ever!! EEEWWEEEE 😅
I just noticed you haven't reacted to the movie True Lies, that is a must-watch! Arnold and Jamie Lee Curtis are great together.👍
It’s actually coming in a couple of weeks. Early May IIRC.
Whenever I watch one of these movies, I always end up wondering what it was I just saw. It's ok though, I have the theme music on my playlist :)
16:36 - Once upon a time, Charles Bronson was the highest paid actor in Hollywood. "The Mechanic" and "Death Wish" are very worth your time.
"Death Wish" is a great choice.
There's Dean Stockwell from the original 'Quantum Leap'.
I live in Lexington too and I've been to Keeneland a handful of times but never because I really wanted to 😂😂. I only go when someone invites me to go with them. I've never been sitting around and thought, "I want to go watch horses run in a circle lol". I enjoyed your reaction though. The guy dancing at the Playboy party was always hilarious to me lol.
I would still recommend watching Beverly Hills Cop 3. I just like Billy and Serge from the first one has a cameo. And that was Chris Rock as the valet at the playboy mansion.
Not even seen yet and I know it's going to be an awesome reaction.
Another hilarious reaction! Great job, J and Blank! And good on you, Drogo!
To answer your question, J: yes, women wearing work-out attire AND high heels together was - and still is! - a thing in Beverly Hills, as well as many other places in L.A. I worked for nearly 20 years in that area, and the people you see wandering around dressed like that - not just walking their dogs but shopping, going to restaurants, visiting doctors' offices, etc. - was/is just ridiculous. And 99.99999999999999999% of them are not as fit or good looking as the actress/model in the film, so the near-universal reaction from everyone else is "what the @#$%&*! is that person thinking?" Not that it's a good look for the supermodel-types either. One of the many downsides of living in an area where so much of the population seems stuck in a perpetual adolescence.
Rosewood's apartment plants, "That's Sydney. He's a wandering Jew." Wandering Jew is the name of a purple desert plant named for the Hebrews who wandered the desert for forty years. It's a pretty plant, especially to put in flower beds.
I agree with you. To this day, I still can't believe she knocked boots with Flava Flav. I mean, it's like Flamming Mt. Dew and Marshmallow Peep flavored Pepsi. WHY???
Awesome Movie and Work Bro, Thanks 👍👍👍👍😎 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
Man, I miss old school Eddie Murphy. This is definitely the best one, but 3 is still lots of fun. I guess he's working on a 4th one, not sure. The age of good legacy sequels is over I think, so we'll see how it turns out.
RIP Gilbert Gottfried, he's always the funniest character in any movie or TV series he's in.
This movie! One of my absolute favorites! 16:50
Jay, that first song, the one you liked, is “Shakedown” by Bob Seger. He’s a 70’s and 80’s legend. Check him out. 😎
Traffic duty would be the dudes in the intersections with a whistle and white gloves directing traffic with all the hand signals
You gotta get to Keeneland at least once. It's a good time betting on the horses, and seeing people dressed up.
You ask out loud "is that Jeremy Irons"? I answered out loud "no, luv"....like you could hear me 😆
Ok that was awesome. It's about 130am here in the Nova Scotia. My 3 wonderful young children are sound asleep. All is well
Then I hear you say my mouth was open lol talk about a loud belly laugh. One of those types you don't do all the time. Damn near woke the kids up. Thank you for that. I don't laugh too often these days. But your reactions always make me laugh. Keep up the awesome work
This movie is so funny!! 😂😂 Billy was a serious HOT MESS!!😂
Good news Jay, we have had fish food in Detroit now for at least 35 years 😂💜
❤👍👍 This movie so fun watching with you! 😆🤭I enjoy your adaptations.
I ❤ your reaction! I cried when you cried, especially when you saw the baby. I'm touched that you really felt Jack & Rose's love. Your pups were so sweet, comforting you. Top gals, no one can love you like Rose🌹 & Adrian from Rocky🥊.
I don't think this movie is better than the original, but it definitely holds up. I remember my mom taking me to see this in the theater and I laughed throughout the whole movie.
I used to watch this all the time when i was in middle school 😂
"Why is Billy driving?!?!" Because it's good for the movie 😂😂😂
Thank you again for this wonderful video. I hope your day was excellent and that you have a very blessed weekend. 🙏🏽
Gotta see a reaction to 48 Hours! Still one the funniest movies ever imo!
I laughed out loud at "THIS IS NOT HIS CAR!" Jay damn right its not.. XD
"Is that a fashion statement?" Yes, and it was great.😁
My uncle took two shots to the chest, took the gun away from the guy, and pistol whipped him into a coma. Then he woke up in the hospital handcuffed to the bed. He was drunk and wandered into the wrong place at the wrong time. The actual criminals got away for about a month. My uncle still got prison time for putting the guy in a coma after he was shot. It should have been self-defense because all he did was walk in and get shot and had nothing to do with the criminals. The people who tried to rob the place got less time than him.
12:22 the 80s were a wild time my boy. The Pepsi was Free and the coke was pure! 😂
Jurgen Prochnow is the guy you thought was Jeremy Irons. Das Boot is good, but if J hasn't seen it, you need to put Beerfest on the list. And if you do that, you've got to put Super Troopers on it too.
Jay, I caught when you mentioned growing up going to 🐎 race tracks that you live in Lexington, Kentucky. Small world...I live in Somerset about 80 miles south of you and work in Nicholasville. Don't feel bad. I have lived in Kentucky for over 37 years and still haven't gone to Keeneland...lmbo Btw...if you didn't recognize him or have someone tell you, the valet at the Playboy Mansion was played by Chris Rock. I believe it was his first film role. Also, if you didn't know...the guy that sold the bananas to Axel in the first film was none other than Damon Wayans in what I also think was his first film appearance. I'm 54 so old enough to have seen the first movie on a date in Phoenix where I lived at the time.
"You got a suit but you ain't got fish food". 😀
Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
This is a HIGHLY underrated example of the 1980s Action and Buddy Cop genres. In my opinion the first film just does not hold up, but Tony Scott's direction here has made BHC2 evergreen.
Tony Scott is a GOAT
The dog fart was fuckin great!!!
Yes been waiting on this one for ages happy it's here 😅
The actor in question is Jurgen Prochnow. He's German, but he's been in several American and British movies, too.
With a lot of friends from Detroit, we love the Detroit jokes. On point always. Truth is stranger than Detroit. Just kidding. Nothing is stranger than Detroit.
That’s crabs! I’m dead. You are fuckin hilarious!
26:53 - Remember that poster of 'Cobra' on the wall? That Stallone movie? Brigitte Nielsen (Flava Flav girl) is in that movie as well. She used to be married to Stallone
This is my favorite movie of all time the first movie I quoted F Rambo as a kid
That poster on Billy's wall was Sylvester Stallone in "COBRA". Great movie👍👍👍.
He caught you with yo mouth open LMAO
Omg. You just said he looks like a Great Value Jay Leno. That is my new favorite line Jay. And I’m only 5 mins in.
5:55 LOL Paul Reiser got a bad wrap 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The guy that played Captain Todd was a real cop in Detroit and was mixed up with that White Boy Ricky stuff back in the day.
You’re gonna love Beverley hills cop 3 ❤️🇬🇧
Drogo crop-dusted The Murder Whistle 😂
Funny he sees Paul Reiser but only sees Burke from Aliens
You said go outside! I get the reaction from my dogs with OUTSIDE. They give you the big eyes 00.
The Cobra poster is an easter egg. Stallone was to play the lead in Beverly Hills Cop, originally, but pulled out. He did Cobra instead.
You definitely need to see the movie "Cobra"!
"I used to love going to horse races."
That is so awesome! I've got a movie recommendation for you. It's one of my favorite movies but I hardly ever recommend it to anyone because it's not the kind of movie many people "get". You got to know how superstitious and eccentric gamblers can be, especially horse race gamblers.
If you get that, this movie is soooooooo funny!
It's called *Let It Ride.* I think you may really enjoy it!
Best Regards!
The story for the 1st film was better, but this one was funnier. Toss up, but both great films that never get old no matter how many times you watch them.
@JL 39:22 I feel your pain as sometimes dogs can be lethal :) lol "My mouth was open" lol. Yea definitely need some scope for that :). These first 2 movies were fun. The Lethal Weapon franchise did not have the brilliance of Eddie Murphy but they were better films with better scrips and a better cast. Hope you watch them sometime Sir. Midnight Run is another brilliant "buddy films"
The late great Gilbert Gottfried...R.I.P.
