I have the HWK Motorcycle Mesh Jacket. I use it for warmer weather and when it's colder I wear a windbreaker jacket over it to stay warmer, and if needed a Fleece jacket liner (from another jacket) underneath. The HWK pants are great for colder weather with ski wear longjohns underneath or thinner shorts when it is warmer. They are not used as hot-weather pants. I bought another brand of Mesh motorcycle pants for the hotter weather, though they are even too warm. I've owned my HWK clothing for two years and they still look like new. They don't burn if you mistakenly press your lower leg against the hot muffler. Cons: Yes, there was a buckle that I had to modify at the bottom of one of the pant legs. When it rains I wear an oversized two-piece inexpensive rain suit that I have from when I golfed more often that turned out to be perfect for riding in the rain. For the price, durability, and protection they provide it will be hard to find better clothing.
I like the idea of not giving up. We can always encounter some problems, but sooner or later we have to fix it. Giving up is not an option. :) I hope that your pants are now fixed. :)

I have mine for 2 years, and I'm still wearing them , I will keep wearing them until they fall apart. I got the HWK rain suit, and I keep it in my top case, and it works great. My only complain, I thought they were waterproof and they were not. And the other thing with lupe and the original plastic buckle that come with.
Pants buckle/belt problems...I buy suspenders for my moto pants. HWK fills a gap between street wear/no protection and expensive gear. I have HWK and high end gear and both fill my riding needs. Happy trails and thx for sharing your experiences.
