    i’m not even peranakan but i love the culture so much! i even have a few kebayas & yes, i do wear them out from time to time. i’m from singapore so i rarely meet anyone wearing kebayas 😢

    This video features the life of wealthy baba nyonyas. The vast majority are average wage earners. Although on the different ends of the economy, both share the same religious and culinary tradition.

    Why not make a version of this in Hokkien, the true language of the Baba Nyonya of Penang? It seems people like culture that can be seen, but not the culture that can be heard and spoken.

      I swear 95% of young generation malaysian chinese can't even understand hokkien, only old generation can
