@@ncwordmanTo me love is cherishing something while acknowledging that there may be imperfections that need to be worked on. It's not wanting to replace the object you cherish just because it's not perfect. It's a willingness to seek alternative ways to maintain the cherished object while making changes. Usually it takes patience and hard work. I'm suggesting freedom of speech, freedom to practice your own religion, freedom to go from one area of the country to another, freedom to drive a car (for most of us), freedom to vote (for most of us), freedom to go to a library, freedom to get an education. Of course some of these freedoms I'd like to see expanded...unlike #45 and his followers who recently removed the freedom for women to get good health care.

@@ljramirez That's my point too. Thank you. "Loving America" is a cliche, which doesn't even specify the United States of America. But, assuming that's what they're talking about: You can certainly love some people in the country. Do you have to love them all, to love the country? And you can love some things, like certain music and artists. Do you have to love them all? And so on. That is why the Founding Fathers deemed *ALL* religions unfit for modern, civil governance.
The *1st Amendment's Establishment Clause* prohibits the government from making any law, _“respecting an establishment of religion.”_
This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another. It also prohibits the government from unduly preferring religion over non-religion.

@hopefulcanadian I completely agree with you. I went to a church and a few weeks after I started the pastor mentioned that those who haven't paid their thirds into the church, they could do so. I asked the person next to me what he meant and she explained that it was a third of your annual salary before tax. I told her that I only got £25 per week of which I had to pay £20 into my grandma's house which left me with £5 per week to live on, so if he thought I was giving him a third of my annual pay before tax, he could take a run and jump into the river Lagan! Admittedly this was back in the 80's but still it was a heck of a lot of money to expect.
