The bootloop fiasco of the G4 and the poor build, screen quality and GPS issues of the G5, severely hurt customer confidence. They may be playing it too safe but I will say when I compare my V30/V40 with my partner's Note 8 over a long term, their devices are VERY STABLE. No need to reboot unless there is an update. Apps do not crash. The V40 in particular is much faster and more reliable connecting to Bluetooth (which helps with home automation in some cases).

Seriously, you and Matthew Moniz are the only reviewers giving constructive and valuable feedback on devices. You focus mainly on user experience. I was ecstatic when you said "just touch the screen"!!!! I get the feeling that IT companies are not really pushing forward with the technology. They want to harvest our money with already know solutions but just implemented in a different way. As you mentioned, you pay huge amount of money for the same solution from 2013 - ridiculous. And where's the solution called "eye scroll"? This was great!
That's why I have a hard time finding a new phone. I am 100% happy with my HTC 10, but I am sort of stuck with it. I wanted to buy Pixel 3 - turned out it is not available in my country (Poland). Then, I wanted to switch to Huawei P20 Pro - still too expensive and it lacks some features that I want (e.g. wireless charging). Finally, I decided that OnePlus 6T - found out that there is not official distributor in Poland and again in case of any issue I have to send it abroad. At this point, I am really frustrated.

Social Journey It’s a gimmick. It’s lower than a notch, therefore taking more screen real estate than a small notch like the on the oneplus one or regular mate 20. You can’t darken that area because you’d lose too much screen. By putting it further from the edge, there’s more chance to hide a usefull information. There’s absolutely no benefits over a small notch.

Camera placement is getting sad..We are happy with fast decent cameras. If they concentrate on perfecting what we have and creating new helpful ideas that's great. It's just placement of camera over trying to have all glass front no bezels is silly to me. We need to hold it. And the idea of people really needing this is silly. Idk

One thing I'll say about LG V30 is the best phone I've ever owned. I've had Galaxy notes I've had a lot of Motorola's. This phone has consistently worked great for almost 2 years. It doesn't have the craziest features or software but it's solid the battery life is still great after 16 months. It's never slow down like my Samsungs. It's a great phone. It will probably last a few more years if I let it. Samsung phones get shittier the longer you own them - something all phone reviewers never have to deal with. this is my favorite CZcams channel that reviews phones. It's the best. And the most thoughtful as towards long-term phones. If I stick with the Android world I'm sticking with an LG. I think that very fact that this phone has been so great for so long makes the brand of LG a lot more valuable to real phone users and should be rewarded. If you replace your phone every 6 months two at most a year Samsung may be more interesting. to real humans who can't afford to spend $1,000 on a phone every 6 months - I sure wish phone reviewers would quit recommending them over the long term high quality phones from LG and Motorola.

Unfortunately, their mobile branch leaves me cold every single time. LG G6, I had it for 3 months, had to sell it, because battery life was just terrible. Tried the LGV30, but I had some call quality and signal strength issues. Returned it.
I won't even try this year, I'll just wait until it's gonna be like $220 on Amazon, unless there will be some Chinese brand budget by then, that will surpass it even at that price.
