3 REASONS WHY TOTAL WAR ATTILA IS HIGHLY UNDERRATED

  • From the original Shogun to Total War Rome 2, to the highly anticipated Warhammer 3, there is no doubt in my mind that the Total War franchise is one of the best out there, giving strategy players unique and diverse ways to conquer the world in different time-periods while also providing a highly immersive battle experience.
But there is arguably one total war that is the most underrated. A game that did so many things so well but was largely swept under the rug, And that is, Attila Total War. It was a brilliant Total War game that deserved a lot more credit than it got and in this video I’m going to run through exactly why.
Hope you enjoyed the video guys and if you did give it a like and drop any thoughts or questions in the comments section below, and don’t forget to subscribe for more total war content, gameplay and news!

If Attila had the same post-launch support as Rome 2 it would currently be one of the most successful titles, in my opinion.
This is why CA should never give up on a title.

Question is for Melkor AND Terminator. I have about 1,700+ hours into this title, and I can say it is fantastic. The mods are great and if your PC is decent, it runs just fine and looks amazing. 1212AD is by far one of the best achievements of the Total War moding community. Props to all involved. Do you think it is beyond CA to support this game now, all these years later? Or do you think that is a possibility for them to update and revisit?

Attila has been my favourite TW game since it came out, I remember starting my first campaign as WRE and the feeling of exhaustion in having to carefully deal with waves of barbarians. Then when you think you’ve got an even footing, the climate gets worse and there’s plagues … then Attila turns up and you’re just sinking.
I can see why some people didn’t like it, but I liked being rewarded for being patient and precise with my decisions.

A similar setting in the future can be the Bronze Age collapse, maybe call it Total War: Apocalypse. The great empires had fallen and international trade was lost. Egypt was divided but surviving. Assyria and Babylon settled to protect their borders. The Hittites fractured into small states. The Sea Peoples rampages throughout the Mediterranean. Meanwhile, the Dorians pushed into Greece, and small tribal societies like Israel and Edom challenged the settled princes of Canaan for a home. It could recreate what Attila was while adding some new elements like perhaps grazing land if you're a nomadic faction, raids and skirmishes, rediscovery of lost knowledge, etc. This setting can be a spiritual successor to Troy as well.

There were so many cool Dark/early middle ages scenarios left unexplored: the campaigns of Majoran and Heraclius, the rise of Islam, the fall of the Guptas, the English Heptharchy, etc.
