Thank you very much, CZcams is a terrific way for us to share info on repairs. I’m sure we all have increased our knowledge since we have become familiar with it. Well done!

I referenced this video to take that same aluminum plate out. That plate is prone to breaking/cracking and an updated kit is available that has a steel insert where the steering shaft bolt goes through it. Unfortunately many Viper and Artic Cat owners will experience sloppy steering because of it. I wish I had ordered that pivot or just new bushings too because there is also more play in that and I will probably do this job again this summer. It was a bit of a pain to get to but I ended up doing it twice and now I feel like it isn’t really that difficult, just a bit time consuming. Thanks for the video.

Nice video, good job!! :) I have SR Viper and I love it! Only problem I had broken frame in tunnel both sides, I bought it with hidden defect and fixed before last season! Now I'm going through to check how my job was done and if additional plates holding together. As my Viper is disassembled, will check all steering assemblies.

That piece is called a ‘bell crank’. I just installed a brass bushing kit in my ‘16 viper from Mainway Solutions. He is in Ontario. The cost was around $90 plus $12 shipping. I received it in the mail in Sask in 4 days. I was able to get mine without removing the air box. I just took bolts out of rad and moved it around as needed.

Thank you for doing this, I have a 14 Viper and while i haven't experienced this issue it's good to know that should it come up I will have a good idea of the cause and how to (gulp) fix it.

Yes it’s funny that majority of posts refer to “sloppy steering” problems yet mine seized. Glad the video helps you out. Cheers

nice work, I too have a 2015, thankfully I don't have this issue but at least when it comes up I see what I gotta do.

Right on. That’s the whole reason why I did it. Keep the track side down my friend. 👍

I hated my viper with a passion. Under power. Heavy as a tank. Didn’t even have its first oil change and I sold it. Rip Yamaha. Lol

Because I didn’t have such a video to use it took me about 3-4 hours. I’d think this should help cut it in half
